Mascara -Shiseido - Perfect Mascara

This is a fabulous mascara. On its own, it looks amazing, managing to provide length and separation without looking heavy or clumpy. However, like most mascaras, on me, on its own I will eventually find some of it having flaked off. But worn with Shiseido's The Makeup Mascara Base, this mascara will stay all day. My only gripe is the packaging. My tube doesn't want to close very tightly, so I don't know whether it will dry out earlier than it should. Since it's my first tube, I also don't know whether this is a fluke or whether they're all like this. Wearing this mascara with the base makes it much more difficult to remove, but as long as you use a remover meant for waterproof makeup, it comes off fairly easily. Perhaps not perfect, but darn close. Wish it were cheaper.

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]

Oh, WOW. I thought this would be a completely unnecessary product. Who needs a mascara base? Well, as it turns out, ME!!! Every mascara I tried, from Great Lash to Dior Show, would without fail end up flaked or smeared below my lower lashes before I even made it to lunch. Enter The Makeup Mascara Base. I wasn't impressed when I pulled the wand out of the tube for the first time. The stuff looks goopey and white on the wand, and I thought it would be just another version of the white fiber primers we've seen floating around for years now, an impression that was heightened when I saw the white tips it left on my lashes. But this stuff is different. Yes, it does lengthen your lashes, but it also holds your curl and makes every mascara I've tried it with actually stay on my lashes. I've used it with Fiberwig, Benefit BadGal, Anastasia, and plain old drugstore stuff, and all are 10 times better with this base than alone. However, the best combo I've come across (thank you, Santa!) is this base paired with Shiseido Perfect Mascara. Maybe not completely perfect, but darn close.

Horrible creasing. Try MAC paint in bare canvas instead--much better eye shadow base.

Mascara -Prescriptives - Here To Stay

Love it. It is the only mascara I've tried that really doesn't budge. Make sure you have a good makeup remover before you try it, because soap and water won't get it. I like Prescriptives Better Off remover. The only time I've had this mascara smudge was during a midday nap when I wore an eye mask. Will definitely repurchase.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Bare Canvas Paint

I LOVE this stuff. I'm probably on my 4th or 5th tube. It is the only thing I've found that works as a true eyeshadow base and does not crease. It also looks fantastic by itself (and again, no creasing). I can't believe how much it does to brighten my face just by evening out my lids. I apply to lids up to my browline using just a finger. Be sparing--if you use too much, you'll look chalky. I strayed from this product once to try Benefit's Lemon Aid, but it was horrible and creased really badly. This is my absolute HG for eyes. This plus mascara is all I really need.
