Palettes -Coastal Scents - Ultra Shimmer 88 eye shadow palette
summersblush 12/28/2011 4:07:00 PM
You have practically every color under the rainbow with this palette! The colors glide on yours lids evenly and shimmery, there is no chunky glitter, and it blends very well. It is a bit powdery on the brush, so remember to tap the excess off! Each color pan is about the size of a dime, which doesn't seem like a lot, but with all the choice in this palette, you won't be running out of any color soon. The palette is a slim black case less than half an inch thick with a small mirror and comes with two sponge applicators.

Bronzers -New York Color - Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720
summersblush 6/24/2011 3:27:00 PM
I gave this a shot when N.Y.C. was having a BOGO sale and am pleased with it. I have the 720A matte Sunny. The packaging is very poor, and the sponge applicator it comes with is useless, but for four bucks (that's the reg price), give this product a try if you want something without any shimmer or glitter. The color is buildable and doesn't leave you looking orange. I'm an NC-15, and it gives my cheeks a nice glow.

CONS: bulky, strange herbal-like smell, expensive, limited color selection PROS: very pigmented, creamy, blendable This blush gives my cheeks a beautiful flushed look that lasts atleast 3-4 hours. I like it, but I probably won't repurchase again.

Moisturizers -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan oil
summersblush 6/21/2011 4:10:00 PM
I loved this little bottle of oil! Like many people, I didn't think using oil on oily skin was a favorable idea. I had a little deluxe sample bottle of this that came with a set and tried it once after washing my face. Afterwards, I didn't notice any reaction on my skin so I stopped using it. However, months later my dermatologist gave me retin-a because my skin started to have breakouts. The retin-a dried my skin and my face was peeling and flaking. Four months and countless bottles of moisturizers later, my skin still hadn't recovered from the drying effects of retin-a. Then one night, I spotted the little bottle of argan oil on my dresser again. I decided what the heck, none of my creams seemed to be working. So after washing my face with a mild cleanser, I poured a few drops of oil onto my palm and used my fingertips to press it into my skin. When I woke in the morning, I noticed less dry patches on my skin. After only a week of nightly use, the argan oil had begun to heal my skin in a way none of my creams were able to. My skin soaked it up, there wasn't a bit of greasy feeling afterwards, and my skin was even becoming less oily during the day time. The one con for this product is the price. It's too expensive for me to use every night, but this oil has replaced any cream or lotion that I have, so I've decided to search for a cheaper alternative. Right now I'm using The Vitamin Shoppe's unscented almond oil.

BB Cream -Boscia - BB Cream SPF 27 PA++
summersblush 6/16/2011 4:34:00 PM
BB creams, meaning Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm, were initially created for patients who had undergone laser skin surgery to help soothe, protect, and cover their skin. After Asian celebrities started using it as a beauty product, a BB cream craze was born. I was so excited to see that BB creams are entering the US market and waited with bated breath for this at my local Sephora. Boscia is a brand known for its high quality and natural ingredients, but it fell short on this product. The color is a nice beige, matching many light skin tones, and the consistency is a light liquid. I would say the coverage is light, much like a tinted moisturizer. After two hours of wearing this, and only this, while out shopping, my face was an oil slick. This product does nothing to control oil. Days later I tried this again and even put a coating of powder on top. I had the same result. This product is too expensive to be nothing more than a sunblock, and I would not recommend it. I would stick with the korean brands for now.

Lipstick -Victoria's Secret - Love me wild- Heartbeat
summersblush 6/16/2011 4:06:00 PM
I am absolutely in LOVE with this color. It is a beautiful peachy pink and goes well with my NC-15 skin. The texture is creamy with a satin finish, and there is a very light vanilla scent. I bought this with a VS SSR card, but would have gladly paid the full $14. ** This is a limited edition lipstick, and VS had them on their website for half off. Pick one up while you still can!

Liquid -Cargo - Foundation - Oil Free
summersblush 6/16/2011 3:48:00 PM
I picked this up when Sephora was phasing out Cargo's line, so I got it for really cheap. The color F30 seemed a near perfect match for my skin tone! I loved that this product was oil free but still a creamy liquid for my dehydrated skin. It smells nice, a very light fragrance, and lasts on my oily skin for 3-4 hours. I was very happy with this product for the initial first weeks, but then one day I noticed my face looking a bit ruddy, and realized the product oxidizes on my cheeks. I've since only reached for this product on occasion. ** If any of you like Cargo's line, and live near a JCPenney, see if they have a Sephora inside. Sephora's inside JCP still carry Cargo, albeit at full price.**

Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Milk of Magnesia
summersblush 6/16/2011 3:36:00 PM
I have oily but dehydrated skin. Usually my makeup seems to slide off my face a few hours into the night and my t-zone is always shiny in pictures. After hearing about MoM's oil controlling abilities, I gave it a try. The first time I used it, my face was in matte heaven. I went through a whole night of dancing without a single sheet of blotting paper! I thought I had found the answer to my oilies. However, it seemed every subsequent use of this my face stayed matte for less time. I've tried not moisturizing before MoM, moisturinzing then using a primer before MoM, and only using a primer before MoM. All to no avail. My face was not terribly oily when I had this on, but I wasn't able to experience the same result as that first time. Also, my face was becoming really dry. Whenever I applied my foundation after MoM, I was able to see patches of dry spots on my skin. Despite this, I am not totally turned off by this product, maybe I'll try it again in the future. How I use MoM: After washing face, I use a toner. Remember to shake the bottle of MoM VERY well then use a cotton ball or finger tips to spread a thin layer of MoM on face. Let dry for 2-3 minutes and apply foundation/ makeup.
