Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Colour Fresco - Bubbly
summerrain1994 8/14/2012 8:52:00 AM
I really love these products! I bought mine at a Dollar Tree for only $1 and probably would have paid full price if I was unable to find them again! Bubbly was the first colour I picked up and I LOVE it. I use it to prime the inner corner of my eye for highlight (I don't wear eyeshadow on a regular basis). It blends SO easily and doesn't smudge my foundation and/or concealer at all.I don't think I've ever found a product that blends so easily over others. Anyways, it holds my highlight in place throughout the whole day at work and school. It also brings a lot of brightness to my eye, lighting it up with a shimmery champagne colour. I recently also purchased Snowflake (it's more white than beige) but I still prefer Bubbly. It's a lot softer of a highlight and natural.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Pink Chiffon Body Lotion
summerrain1994 7/8/2012 4:16:00 PM
This is probably one of my favourite BBW scents, next to Into the Wild and Wild Berry Tulips. It's VERY sweet, so those who prefer a more musky or deep scent, this is not for you! It's got hints of cotton candy and sweet florals, very girly in my opinion! I have it in the lotion and sparkle mist, both of which I love. I find that it has a lot of staying power and gradually fades into a soft sweetness throughout the day. Definitely a good scent for teenage girls (like myself), or just for the day time. I'm almost done my lotion and am excited to try some new scents, but will probably come back to this one!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Into the Wild
summerrain1994 7/8/2012 4:13:00 PM
I got this scent on 50% off during the semi-annual sale and boy, am I glad that I did! I have the regular body lotion and triple moisture cream, and I enjoy them both. I find that the cream's scent lasts quite a bit longer, but is much stronger (sometimes too strong, if allied too heavily). I prefer the lotion during the day. The scent is fruity but at the same time sexy and ever so slightly musky - something I really love about it. It's smooth on the skin, and soaks in quickly. I wish that I had gotten this in the original body spray last year - the only spray now is the fine mist which I find doesn't last for more than an hour on the skin. Oh well, I'm enjoying the creams a lot lately!

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Fantasy Britney spears
summerrain1994 5/8/2012 2:44:00 PM
I found this perfume for a mere $20 at Shoppers Drug Mart. On the hunt for a nice subtle, sweet and sexy scent, I picked it up. I really love this perfume! It's musky but sweet at the same time, and with my body chemistry I think it smells lovely. My boyfriend also loves the scent on me, especially when I spray it in my hair. The only downfall is that it doesn't stay a very long ago... 6 hours and I need to reapply if I want it to stick to me.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
summerrain1994 5/8/2012 2:42:00 PM
I bought this product because I was on the market for a new cleanser to use with my Clarisonic Mia. I wanted it to take off all my make-up and leave my skin smooth and soft. Let me go ahead and say that this is a nice cleanser. However, I don't see anything "special" about it, or anything that would make it worth the high price. Yes, it takes off my make-up well but that's nothing special... I can find cleansers to do that for half the price. Also, it has a weird smell it to - like herbs, which isn't something I'd call "pure". I would have loved a floral or clean scent. Also not a big fan of the bottle. I have a small travel size that I keep refilling from my large bottle because that thing is huge. Would have loved a pump on the 8oz bottle. Overall, I would not repurchase this product. Yes, it's a nice cleanser but I feel like I can't justify the price for it. I can find so many more that do the same thing at the drugstore and there are too many products out there to just settle for this!

Styling Products -Farouk CHI - Chi Silk Infusion
summerrain1994 3/23/2012 10:35:00 PM
I really like this product because it makes my hair very smooth and soft. I apply it when my hair is damp, just after towel drying. Then I allow my hair to air dry and in general the next day I will curl it. This is something that really makes a difference in the shine and softness of my hair texture. However, there are two things that I'm not a fan of - first of all, I also have VERY similar results with products such as the John Frieda Freeze Ease serum. Also, it tends to make my hair a lot more oily on the second day. However, washing a bit more often than usual is definitely a price I'm willing to pay for this product. I really think it's worth every penny and I will repurchase.

Cleansers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Antibacterial Soap
summerrain1994 3/18/2012 8:04:00 PM
I like this soap, but it doesn't do anything to clear up my acne. I tried the entire acne solutions line and honestly, none of the products cleared me up. However, this bar is HUGE (and it comes in a cute little covered container/dish) and I didn't want to waste it. When I'm too lazy to use my Clarisonic or a liquid cleanser, I just go for this at the side of my sink. It's also nice for the days when I just want to get clean... not wearing any make-up, maybe just a bit of powder. It gives my skin that "squeaky" feeling, which I'm not a fan of... but meh, it's alright. I won't purchase again just because I feel like I could buy a similar bar soap (like Aveeno or Neutrogena) for much cheaper.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Line Fan Brush
summerrain1994 3/18/2012 7:58:00 PM
This is my first fan brush and my second brush from ELF studio line. It's very flimsy, and that's the main down side. It's also not very dense, making it often hard to pick up product. However, I do like it to apply highlighter to my cheekbones. Though it's not the best at picking up pressed highlighters (I think it would better with a loose powder), it makes it so that you can't overdo it. I kind of have to press it into the powder with my fingers, though, to pick up anything. I use it to build up the sheen on my skin, and after working with it for a bit, it's become a decent brush of mine. It was only $3, which is why I'm not griping too much about it. I probably wouldn't buy it again if it broke, but it is decent for it's price and does an okay job with highlighter. (I noticed someone below me mentioned using it for bronzer on fair skin - I think that's a great idea! It's very lightweight and again, you wouldn't easily overdo it. May try that!)

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - FastDry - Buffy the Violet Slayer
summerrain1994 2/23/2012 9:49:00 PM
I'm really falling in love with these polishes - first of all, this is a beautiful colour. I wore it to work and I got so many compliments on it! It's a big contrast against my white skin, which I love... however, I feel like it would suit all skintones. The packaging is great (I like the small brush), the formula as well. Two coats and its totally opaque, and if you're lazy, you could probably get away with just one! The price of this product is what I love... I prefer it against the WnW Shine polishes, especially the formula. It's something like $1.49CAN at Wal-Mart. Can't go wrong! The only reason I took one lippy off is because it does chip a bit, although not nearly as bad as some others. On a day-to-day basis it's usually fine, but when I'm at work it tends to chip off a bit more. * Also, if you own Party of Five Glitters from this same collection, I highly suggest layering one coat on top of two of this! Looks great as an accent nail, or on your toes.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Shimmy Shimmy Massage Bar
summerrain1994 2/20/2012 9:24:00 PM
God, I can't believe this has such good reviews! I HATE this, mainly because of the glitter that is in it. It's seriously a big ball of glitter. I'm not sure if I just got a dud (because it barely smells like anything either, and is REALLY hard to massage into my skin) but I really dislike this product. It came in a gift set so it's not a huge loss, but I'm sad that I dislike it so much. Not even sure what to do with it... might pop half into a bath or something... but the glitter... ugh! Too much. And I'm normally a lover of glitter.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Foundation Brush
summerrain1994 2/19/2012 9:40:00 AM
This brush was sitting in my train case for the longest time; I vaguely remember using it to apply a face mask, but never actual foundation. For quite awhile I was using mineral foundation but when my skin started to get drier, I decided to dig into my Covergirl Trublend Liquid foundation. And oh, I'm surprised I didn't discover this sooner! For this foundation in particular, it works great. What I do is apply the foundation in small dots on areas like my cheeks, forehead, etc. Then, I begin to blend them out one by one. At this point the make-up in very streaky but if I leave it for about 30 seconds and move to the next section of my face, and then return to it, blending it out again with the brush blends out the streaks as well. For areas like around my nose I use a sponge, though, because this brush is a little awkward for those ares. Unfortunately I haven't tried any other foundation brushes similar to this one, so I can't really compare... however, I think that this is a wonderful brush for the price (I think I got it for something like $8CAN at Wal-mart) and that everyone should try is before going to MAC, Sephora, etc... **If you want to go even cheaper, or don't like the packaging of this brush, the Paris Presents foundation brush (at Walmart/Target, in the blue packaging) is the EXACT same brush, just different packing (same company)**

Blush -Maybelline - Dream Bouncy Blush
summerrain1994 2/13/2012 9:27:00 PM
I didn't read the reviews for this blush, only saw it raved about on YouTube. I only own the shade Peach Satin, and I'll definitely be going back for more! It's such a beautiful, natural blush that I love to wear everyday. I was wary about using it on top of foundation at first, because I've never had good luck with cream products... they usually take my foundation right off and don't blend well into it. However, this isn't really a cream product... it has more of a mousse/putty texture. Mine really reminds me of some sort of mounding putty as it doesn't really "bounce" back (at least that I notice). The things that I like most about this is the colour payoff (buildable, but not super sheer), the colour selection (lots of beautiful vibrant colours to choose from... I especially like the peach/coral colours!) and the blendability. I definitely think that these are worth the "hype" and I would definitely repurchase. Probably one of my favourite blushes. UPDATE: Bought Orchid Hush and love it just as much! I have very light skin, and it blends beautifully for a soft, sweet look. Lasts FOREVER too!

Highlighters -The Body Shop - Radiant Highlighter
summerrain1994 1/26/2012 10:09:00 PM
Not too much of a review yet because I haven't had it for long, but compared to the Tinted Glow Enhancer (which no longer is available at my store, so it may be discontinued, replaced by this) it is much more pink. The Tinted one is a bronze colour with larger shimmers, where as this highlighter is a lot more subtle natural. Will post comparing swatches soon!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Country Apple Body Lotion
summerrain1994 1/11/2012 9:20:00 PM
This is probably one of my favourite scents from Bath and Body Works. It's a very sweet Apple scent... purely apple, though not like candy. It literally smells like the type of apple you'd take a bite out of, NOT the kind that you would taste in a candy. B&BW had a huge sale for $3 Sig. collection around Christmas, and had I not already owned so many sweet body mists and lotions, I would have purchased the other products besides the lotion. My only issue with this product is that it's not the best at moisturizing... it does a decent job, but I only use it in the morning before school/work, and use a deeper body lotion with cocoa butter/etc after a shower or before bed.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Cotton Blossom
summerrain1994 1/11/2012 9:17:00 PM
The name of this product truly does describe its scent - it's a sweet linen scent, not a fresh scent... as the "blossom" would entail. Many people complain of it being too strong, however I do not experience this problem - granted, I only own the bath gel and the scent of my body lotion covers it a bit, anyways. It's a nice scent... powdery, soft and feminine... only purchased the large bottle for $3 so am very happy!
