Self Tanners -Unlisted Brand - XEN-TAN

This review is for the facer tanner deluxe. The product gives me the most beautiful natural tan, no orange tones at all, lovely. But it also brakes me out like there is no tomorrow! I got the most awful brakeout all over my t-zone from this. Really sucks, I wish they would do a non-comedogenous version.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Raspberry Pot Rouge

Best blush out-there. P.E.R.I.O.D Extremely pigmented, so I use it with a duo-fibre brush, it gives a completely natural flushed look like I have just come in the door from the cold. I set it with ELF's HD powder and it stays put all day, it doesn't budge. Perfection. I doubt I will ever use up this pot, as you need very little for application, but all the same I would keep buying this product and will probably be getting this in more shades,

LOVE.THIS.PRODUCT I don't understand why something as fantastic as this would be a limited edition... oh well, there is a ton of product so I'm sure I'll have it for years and years. I use this as a highlighter and also as an eyeshadow sometimes. It is fabulous! it brings a very subtle shimmer to my brow bones, cheek bones etc. and gives me that healthy, youthfull glow.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - epsom salt spray
rated 5 of 5

I found the below recipe online and it is working out better for me than my expensive Toni&Guy Beach Curl Spray - YAY!!! For reference, I have pretty short (just above shoulder lenght) fine hair w/ 2a waves. This concoction makes my waves curl up into real big soft curls, but without the stiff, crunchy feeling I get from T&G which I actually have to brush through to make it look good. Try this out: 1½ tbs of epsom to 1 cup water (I just use tap). Add 1 tbs leave-in conditioner (I used Aussie) and ½-3/4 tbs volumising hair gel (for extra strenght hold & body). Optional: add your favourite essential oil, I use 3-5 drops of chamomile (am a blonde) but you can also use rosemary (for brunettes) or tea tree oil if you have oily hair/scalp.

Eyeliner -Guerlain - terracotta kohl in Oriental Metal
rated 4 of 5
summerbrow 2/21/2010 2:11:00 AM

Great product - at least the actual powder insde the container. But I find the container and the applicator rubbish, so emptied the powder out into a small e/s container w/ a lid. I'm not a fan of the oriental kohl look, as I think it is too dramatic for my tastes, but the quality of the powder kohl is epic, so I don't want to miss out on the product, I just use it my own way. I simply apply it on my upper lash line w/ an angled liner brush for a subtle daytime look, and it works great. Doesn't budge the whole day until I remove it.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HiP loose kohl eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
summerbrow 2/21/2010 2:05:00 AM

I have this in navy, burgundy and black - love them all. But I cannot work w/ the applicator, so I actually emptied the original container into a small e/s container w/ a screw-on lid. I use it w/ an angled liner brush to line my upper lash line for a slightly more sophisticated daytime look, and it has GREAT staying power, really great. My favorite of the 3 colours as the burgundy one, because it makes my green eyes really pop.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Blanc Type - Matte2
rated 5 of 5
summerbrow 2/9/2010 10:37:00 AM

LOVE! This matches my skin tone when I am winter pale (ghostly, some would no doubt say), which makes it perfect both as a highlight under the browbone, as a blender colour when sotening edges and as a wash all over the lid. I often combine this w/ Bobbi Brown's Cement in the crease, which gives me that natural *but better* look. Throw on some eyeliner and mascara and I'm good to go. Really soft texture, easy to blend and the colour doesn't change during the day - PERFECT :-))

Blush -NARS - Cream Blush in Penny Lane
rated 5 of 5
summerbrow 2/7/2010 12:03:00 PM

No wonder this product is so popular in here, this is really high quality, not a bad thing about it, IMO. The colour comes out more pinkish-mauve on my fair-to-light skin, at least during the winter time when I am very pale. It looks lovely and natural and the staying power is great when I remember to set it w/ a powder. I expect this will work best for fair-to-medium complexions, since the colour is so nude and product quite sheer. It is easy to blend into the apples of my cheeks and is very buildable, but never distributes unevenly - a real mark of quality IMO. The only thing I had to get used to is the luminous, glowy properties of the product. I normally prefer matte blush and bronzer, but this is very subtle and I do find that it makes my skin look more plump and moisturised (which can be a but of a stretch during the cold and dry Nordic winter months). Bottom line: if you want a healthy glowing nude flush on your cheek and have fair-to-medium skin invest in this baby, it won't let you down!

Blush -Jemma Kidd Makeup School - Blushwear Cheek in Pawpaw
rated 5 of 5
summerbrow 2/7/2010 11:50:00 AM

So I am the first reviewer... all the more reason the start spreading the word. :-) This is a lovely, natural looking cream-to-powder blush. Pawpaw is a matte peach/nude color, which looks a little orange in the pan, but on me it sets as a very natural pinkish peach nude flush. When I remember to set it w/ either my ELF HD powder or the remainder of the ELF mineral booster on the kabuki, this blush lasts all day and gives me that healthy, radiant complexion.

Styling Products -Toni & Guy - Beach Curl Spray
rated 5 of 5

If I ever had an HG product, it would be this. This takes my flimsy thin wavy hair to a whole other level, a level of big, bouncy curls that hold indefinitely (until product is rinsed out). My mom said to me last time I saw her: "I didn't know your hair could look like this!". I'm not bothered by the scent at all, I think it smells quite nice... (funny how people react so different to scents) For me, it works best if I use it on dry hair. I spray it on, scrunch the curls in place, and max. 10 min. later they are set. I then proceed to brush through the hair (I do not have frizz issues) to make the curls as big and soft as possible. Then a little hair spray and I'm done. Next morning I simply reactivate the product by scruncing the curls/waves flattened from sleeping w/ wet hands and let dry naturally, and - TADAA - hair looks perfect again. The day after I use a little dry shampoo on the roots, scrunch the hair w/ wet hands again and maybe use a little more Beach Curl Spray. This works perfect for my hair and also means one bottle of this stuff lasts for ages. I don't believe in washing my hair every day, so being able to restyle twice is a really big extra benefit. My hair and scalps loves and has never looked so healthy, curly and shiny.

Styling Products -TiGi - Bed Head - Foxy Curls Contour Cream
rated 4 of 5
summerbrow 2/7/2010 11:22:00 AM

The bottom line is, that this product delivers according to its name; it gives curls and waves contour, shape and hold. YAY! I have quite thin, wavy hair which easily gets weighed down so I am forever looking for products that give body and volume without weighing my hair down. This hits that exact balance. The only con is the scent. I am not a fan of the candy scents of the Bedhead series' products. This one smells like pink bubble gum, very artificially sweet, yech. So I deducted one lippy on that account, but other than that I love love love the product, I just wish they would make an adult version without the candy scent.

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - High Beam
rated 4 of 5
summerbrow 2/4/2010 4:10:00 PM

I use this every day for highlighting my cupids bow and also often on cheekbones and browbones when using matte e/s. It gives my winter pale complexion a nice, dewy shimmer w/ a pinky hue. Great stuff, but staying power could be a little better, so I took 1 lippy off for that, but otherwise really happy w/ this product.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Mineral Booster
rated 5 of 5
summerbrow 1/25/2010 12:59:00 PM

This product is great! It is supposed to be translucent, but as many other reviewers say, it has a pinkish hue which suits me perfectly. So I get a little extra coverage but still very sheer. I try to use makeup so that it looks like I don't have any on, I just want to look like me - only sightly enhanced. This product works perfectly to that end. I use it on top of a tinted moisturizer, which I have also sheered out a but mixing it w/ jojoba oil + regular moisturizing lotion. This way I can mix the perfect cocktail of color every day. Then pop on the booster which adds that tiny extra hint of color and keeps me matte all day.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin
rated 1 of 5
summerbrow 1/24/2010 5:31:00 AM

I binned this product promptly about 10 min. after first application. The menthol/peppermint ingredients migrated straight to my gums from my lips and my gums were burning and stinging for nearly half an hour after application. So this product is not for me. Obviously, my reaction is not normal, I must be extra sensitive, but apart from that, I just don't understand why manufacturers keep putting ingredients that are known to be local irritants, like menthol, peppemint, witch hazel etc. in skin care products.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve

This stuff is amazing! I use this not only on my lips but also on cuticles, small scratches and even blemishes to make them heel faster without hard, dry scabs. Works so well. I have the tin but will also get the stick for my purse.
