Polishes -Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength in Deeply Violet (92)
rated 5 of 5
sulfababy 10/25/2010 11:19:00 PM

This is SUCH a pretty dark purple color! I applied two coats over a rubberized base coat, then finished with a top coat. Dries pretty fast. Even after doing some heavy-duty cleaning and scrubbing around the house, I only had to touch up the very tips of my index fingers once in a whole week. The polish would have lasted longer but my nails were growing and the color discrepancy at the nail bed was too much. I'm a nail painting newbie, but this was easy to apply and held up much better than other polishes I've tried recently.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - CVS Oil Absorbing Sheets
rated 5 of 5
sulfababy 3/27/2010 12:30:00 PM

As a reviewer noted below, these work well and are equivalent to Walgreens and Clean and Clear brand. I don't need these in the winter but they're a God send in the North Carolina summer heat and humidity. It's usually not even necessary to reapply powder.

Lotions/ Creams -Clarins - Hand and Nail Treatment Cream
rated 3 of 5
sulfababy 3/27/2010 11:11:00 AM

This is an amazing hand cream, just the right thickness for me. Very soothing to chapped, raw hands. I usually hate smelly lotions, but this smells really good. More expensive than I prefer, but worth it to me if only used in the winter.

Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Daily Moisturizing Lotion
rated 4 of 5
sulfababy 3/27/2010 11:04:00 AM

My hands get dry, especially washing them so often, so I got a travel size bottle of this lotion to keep in my purse. When I'm home, I prefer a thicker hand cream, but I did like this Aveeno enough to get a full size to use as body lotion. Applied right after a shower, it keeps my skin from getting so itchy and raw. Also good for bikini area after shaving. Doesn't really smell like anything. It's a little sticky right after applying, but that goes away quickly. I did try this as a face moisturizer a few times in the dead of winter, and I didn't like the way it felt, but it did protect and didn't give me any bad reaction.

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Non-Oily Eye Makeup Remover Pads
rated 5 of 5
sulfababy 3/27/2010 10:56:00 AM

I've been using these for years! They get most of my eye make-up off, but have a little trouble with heavy mascara. But these pads do work on the mascara enough so that my cleanser easily removes whatever is left. I love the way they smell. As other reviewers have noted, they are quite thin and sometimes you have to pinch the stack to get one off the top. They're not extremely saturated, but you can fix that by storing them upside down. They're small, but really the size is fine just for your eyes.

Skincare - Face -Estee Lauder - Take It Away total make up remover
rated 3 of 5
sulfababy 3/27/2010 10:49:00 AM

I get free samples of this from my mother-in-law because she works at a department store. It works well to remove my powder make-up that I wear daily, but there are other cheaper products that work as well or better for heavier make-up. And oh my, I really dislike the perfumey smell. This is okay to use at night before a clay mask. If I used my normal cleanser before and after the mask, it makes me too dry. Overall, I wouldn't re-purchase but I'll continue using if it's given to me. :)

Moisturizers -Olay - Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid-Sensitive Skin
rated 5 of 5
sulfababy 3/17/2010 10:57:00 AM

I've been a fan of the original formula Olay Complete SPF 15 for sensitive skin (which by the way is coming back in April) and picked this up at Target to use at night since it doesn't have sunscreen. I am really liking it! In the winter, my skin gets really dry and I don't think this would be enough, but since the weather's been getting warmer, it's perfect. No smell. Contatins niacinimide. Very soothing. And fairly cheap compared to other moisturizers I like! One bottle lasts quite a while. Water, Glycerin, Isohexadecane, Niacinamide, Dimethicone, Isopropyl Isostearate, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Sucrose Polycottonseedate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyacrylamide, Panthenol, ...

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Airy Fairy
rated 4 of 5
sulfababy 3/13/2010 7:03:00 AM

I really like this color! My lips are naturally pretty pigmented, so I actually use Vaseline, a Sephora lip primer pencil, and a nude cream eye shadow base if I really want the true pretty pale pink of Airy Fairy. It's also wearable for a less intense, everyday look without all that stuff. It really complements my pale, olive skin. I only have to re-apply once in a work day.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Walgreens - Alpha Hydroxy Lotion 8%
rated 5 of 5
sulfababy 3/12/2010 10:37:00 AM

This stuff is awesome. Been using it for at least a month (if not two?) now. M2 Skin Refinish did not agree with my skin *at all*, so I was hesitant to try any other AHA. I'm glad I got this glycolic acid product. It makes my skin so smooth and really helps with my mostly hormonal acne. It also softens the backs of my hands and treats the keratosis pilaris on my upper arms. As others have mentioned, it does sting a little if you use it liberally. But it doesn't visibly irritate. No redness or anything. The packaging is not fantastic, but if you wash your hands before dipping your finger in the tub it will be alright. I haven't noticed it fading my red marks yet, but that's a slow process and I'd continue using this product even if it never faded marks. And it's almost cheap-as-free.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Cleansing Bar - Acne-Prone Skin Formula
rated 2 of 5
sulfababy 3/6/2010 7:14:00 PM

The good things about this bar are that it's very cheap, and it rinses clean without leaving residue. It doesn't remove makeup very well. I would have used a separate makeup remover if I cared, but this bar is so dang drying that it's not worth it. I've since started using an Olay Regenerist cleanser and the Aveeno moisturizing bar, which remove makeup better and aren't as drying as this Neutrogena. Won't re-purchase.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5

I am in love! Never before has a salicylic acid product been effective for me, and I'm glad I trusted all the positive reviews. This treatment has unclogged my pores and is gentle enough to use with my glycolic acid regimen. Smells wonderful too. Not very drying once my skin got used to it either, though I do need to moisturize after applying this. Edit: Had to take off some points. This just didn't work out for me! Looks like my skin just happened to behave for the first couple months I used this. Doesn't do much now.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Moisturizing Bar
rated 4 of 5
sulfababy 3/1/2010 10:15:00 AM

I love this bar. It is a little drying, but I've never found a cleanser that isn't at least a little drying. I solve the problem by patting olive oil on my face before cleansing. Although I was using an Olay Regenerist scrub with salicylic acid, I wanted to try a leave-on treatment (like Neutrogena 3-in-1), so I picked this up as a more bland replacement. It smells a little strange at first, but I've grown to like it. Other reviewers are correct that it doesn't really lather per se, but ends up in your hands as a creamy cleanser. This bar actually calms my facial redness quite immediately. Love it and will re-purchase.

Concealers -Maybelline - Pure Concealer ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
sulfababy 2/8/2010 11:36:00 PM

I really like this a lot. The light shade matches my light, olive-yellow skin well. It's not going to do any heavy-duty concealing, but this is absolutely perfect for covering up any pimples that are scabbed, flakey, or otherwise textured. And it doesn't make zits worse. :) Must be applied over your foundation or powder. It won't stay on if you apply it first, then follow with foundation or powder. I have other concealers for other purposes, but I'll always love this product for this particular use.

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
rated 5 of 5
sulfababy 1/20/2010 10:56:00 PM

I use the translucent powder to set my liquid makeup, and it does the job! Only takes a little bit, too. Controls oil pretty and stays pretty well, especially considering how cheap it is! As others have said, the packaging isn't ideal, but I don't really need to take it with me in my purse so it's fine. Would definitely re-purchase this.

Moisturizers -Korres - Yogurt Cream (Yoghurt Cream)
rated 4 of 5
sulfababy 1/18/2010 12:42:00 AM

I heard a lot of great things about this cream and decided to give it a go. First off, it smells wonderful, but the fragrance is not overpowering. It feels very nice and smooth on my acne-prone yet dry skin, and the yogurt is very calming. I use it as a night cream. It gets rid of my flaky skin. Not a fan of the jar packaging.
