Conditioner -Aussie - Moist Conditioner

I don't like spending too much money on things like shampoo and conditioner that just end up being washed away. So I try this at least once a year when my other conditioners stop working hoping that it'll work. Unfortunately, I don't think it helps to condition my permed, colored hair much. Don't really like the fragrance either and the top is difficult to open. I also try out the 3 Minute Miracle conditioner. I like the squeeze tube dispenser, although it doesn't seem to condition well either. Will probably go back to L'Oreal Vive Pro Hydra Gloss conditioner soon.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Vive Pro Hydra Gloss very dry/damaged hair
rated 5 of 5
sugarqb 10/28/2008 4:00:00 AM

I've had several perms throughout a few years... and my hair is feeling it's effects! Price is great... paid about $6 for it at Walgreens... This conditioner leaves my hair the most manageable when stepping out of the shower. May be a bit heavy for thin hair. I still use a leave in conditioner like Biosilk, but for frizzy, permed hair... works the best!

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri
rated 5 of 5

This review is actually for the Inst-Dri Speed Dry Drops... I think it's a new product. I usually have a very heavy hand when applying nail polish... so I initially used the Insta-Dry that was applied with the traditional nail polish brush. This new product, however, comes with a dropper... This makes application so much easier... The older product seems to get very thick and goopy after several uses... I still had half a bottle left and threw it away... Give this product a try... It's genuis!!!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Temptations Sugar & Spice Body Lotion
rated 2 of 5
sugarqb 12/30/2007 6:42:00 PM

I was looking for a cinnamon-y lotion with a hint of vanilla. Tried this several times because it got such high reviews. Each time, I detected a smell that I can only explain as leathery, dirty, and sweaty.... sorry I'm being so descriptive. I don't really like spicy scents, and it might've been the "spice" in the lotion that first made me sick. I was so tempted to wash it off, but wanted to give it a chance to incorporate with my body chemistry. Miraculously, the spiciness faded and it started to have a very, very faint sweetness. In general, I liked the lotion, but won't be able to get past the initial scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Fresh Vanilla
rated 4 of 5
sugarqb 12/30/2007 6:25:00 PM

Like some other reviewers, I liked B&BW Fresh Vanilla much better than Warm Vanilla Sugar (which reminded me of playdoh). FV smelled a little more like vanilla, but after half an hour seemed flat, no dimension. If you want a very light, basic vanilla scent, then try FV. IMO, Vanilla Bean Noel is much better and has a stronger vanilla scent, mixed with more sugar, without the earthy clay scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Black Raspberry Vanilla Lotion
rated 3 of 5
sugarqb 12/30/2007 6:10:00 PM

The B&BW black raspberry vanilla smells more like sweet raspberry than vanilla. To try to get more of a vanilla scent, will try to layer it over a basic vanilla lotion like vanilla bean noel. The scent is very strong and can be overwhelming at times. But if you like sweet and fruity lotions, this one's for you. Unlike some of the other lotions from B&BW, the scent lasts a long time. Would be good as a fall/winter lotion. Not certain, but may buy again.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Lotion
rated 1 of 5
sugarqb 12/29/2007 11:35:00 PM

At first, I liked the subtle and feminine scent and bought this item for $3 at the semi-annual sale. Next day, was going to put some on and got a very strange whiff- like dull clay and earthy (in a bad way). I was disappointed and very annoyed that I had to return the lotion... so, I decided to find out what other reviewers thought about the scent. Well... another reviewer described the smell to be like playdoh... she was so right!!! Needless to say, I won't be buying this again. Brown sugar and fig smells more like vanilla and sugar, although it's a little sweeter, at least there's no playdo smell.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cococare Cocoa Butter Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
sugarqb 12/29/2007 1:25:00 AM

I'm a sucker for nicely packaged and advertised products like bath and body mentha lip shine, kiehls, lancome, etc. And I've continuously used, then strayed, then returned to this product for years. The consistency from tube to tube seems to vary sometimes. I bought one last year and it was grainy and had a thin texture, then bought another tube a few months ago and the texture was thicker and smoother. I think it depends on how the batch was made. Personally, I like the thicker texture which seems to last longer and moisturize better. The thinner textured lip balms seem to melt or slip off the lips. I buy it at walgreens for 99 cents. Unfortunately, I can only find the lip balm without the spf. But if you see a tube, try it out... hey why not, it's only 99 cents.

Lotions/ Creams -Gold Bond - Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Lotion
rated 3 of 5
sugarqb 12/29/2007 1:07:00 AM

I don't like the lotion's scent- very strong and spicy. The texture is thick and comes out of the tube like toothpaste and is hard to apply evenly. Initially, it feels sticky... then greasy. Then the lotion seems to absorb well and doesn't leave so much of a greasy texture. After a few minutes, however, the lotion starts to "bead" and "roll" off a little. My extremely dry hands do feel moisturized, so may only use the product when skin is very, very dry.

Shampoo -Victoria's Secret - So Sexy Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
sugarqb 12/28/2007 2:50:00 PM

I purchased the VS so sexy balancing shampoo and VS so sexy nourishing conditioner after reading the reviews. I got 3 products on sale for $21. I never pay that much for shampoo (figured it just gets washed down the drain along with my money). But after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Not much product for the money, so I use it sparingly and some days alternate it between cheaper shampoos and conditioners. The scent straight from the bottle wasn't that great (a bit too strong) but it was good, very familiar... but in the shower... awesome!!! (maybe the water dilutes it a little and you can detect other sweet and flowery notes in the scent). Other reviewers mentioned the lasting power of the fragrance... I'm still not certain about that one. The scent seems to last awhile, although my friends do smoke alot and I do twist up my damp hair after showering (which may contribute to the scent lasting longer by the end of the day). Btw, my hair tends to be oily at the roots and dry at the ends and the products seem to do a decent job of moisturizing. Because of the scent, will most likely buy again, unless I can find a cheaper version... If any knows of a similar product, please let me know... Thanks.
