Skincare - Face -Pacifica - Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes
rated 4 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 6/9/2013 10:46:00 PM

I feel kind of bad that this product is getting negative reviews, so I'll add my own two cents. I really enjoyed these wipes as a dual makeup remover/quick "cleanser". It's the only skincare wipe I've ever trusted to clean both my skin and my eye makeup. I have highly sensitive eyes and felt that these wipes did not sting at all, and can be re-used multiple times depending on what you're using them for. All in all, I'm excited Pacifica is branching out into new markets!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Willa - Start Fresh Foaming Face Wash
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 6/9/2013 12:23:00 PM

I really love this cleanser! I was shopping in Target recently and was in awe of their new affinity for natural, cruelty-free products- Giovanni, Yes To, Dr. Bronner's, Alba Botanica, Pacifica, and finally, WILLA. Now, I had never heard of Willa before, and I know now it's a new line of skincare for young girls, but I bought both the cleanser and the moisturizer based on 1) ingredients, 2) cruelty-free status, 3) made in the U.S.A, and 4) great online reviews! And honestly, I LOVE IT! I'm extremely picky about my skincare products and rarely stick with one product, but I love this cleanser. The packaging is cute and functional- it has a pump that dispenses the liquid cleanser as foam into your hand. You only need one pump to clean your whole face, and I can already tell it's going to last me a long time. I've been using it for weeks and weeks and the bottle is barely down half an inch! It's easy to use and my face always feels clean and smooth after using it- it doesn't dry me out, it doesn't leave makeup or oil behind. The best part for me, though, was the fact that all these tiny pimples completely disappeared once I started using it. I still get occasional bumps, of course, but they're nothing compared to my skin's condition before using Willa's cleanser. It's perfection in a bottle, as far as I'm concerned, and I really don't believe that its greatness is confined only to tween/teen consumers. $11 for a bottle of cleanser this great and long-lasting doesn't faze me.

BB Cream -Tarte - BB tinted treatment 12-hour primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 5/5/2013 11:14:00 PM

I'm almost halfway through my tube of this and I actually really like it! I find that once I put it on, I don't need much else to look decent. I was worried at first because it seems so translucent when I first put it on, but with time I realized it actually covers a lot and really evens out my skin tone. It does seem to catch onto dry, flaky sections of skin; it helps if you try to blend the cream in the same direction of the "flakiness". Anyway, the lightest color is just perfect for me and it spreads across my face like a dream... The texture took some getting used to because it's almost like blending air into your skin. Regardless of that, it's great and it has NOT broken me out, which I am unimaginably happy about! I love the SPF, love the company, love everything (except the price, but that can be dealt with).

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lemon Juice
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 4/16/2013 10:59:00 PM

Lemon juice is a skin-saver. Honestly. I've been using it for about two weeks now at night, squeezing fresh lemon juice into a ball and dabbing it on my face using cotton balls. The stinging sensation is annoying but certainly not painful, and certainly worthwhile! It tightens up your pores so quickly and makes your face feel clean and healthy. I feel like it counteracts redness as well. I was personally looking for something to keep my skin clear before prom, and I think I've found it c:

Shampoo -Giovanni - Golden Wheat Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 4/7/2013 8:02:00 AM

By far my favorite shampoo by Giovanni. It is their most clarifying shampoo, though, so I generally use it once a week (though sometimes I love it so much I use it more!) I find that it always leaves my hair SO shiny and soft and clean! It's amazing. After you rinse it out, though, don't expect to get your fingers through your hair without some serious squeaking. This really does get your hair squeaky clean! I honestly cannot urge you enough to try this, my hair feels so healthy and bouncy...

Shampoo -Giovanni - Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 4/7/2013 7:59:00 AM

I love this shampoo. I'll never use another. It's vegan, it lathers up perfectly, it tingles and seems to refresh my senses c: it cleans up very well without leaving my hair unbearably dry. Honestly, give it a try! I'm so picky about my shampoos and this is one I can use safely every single day and not worry about my hair's health. Also, it's really worth trying other products from Giovanni. Their hair products have come to dominate my shower- I have this shampoo, the Golden Wheat shampoo, the Root 66 Volume conditioner, the spray-in conditioner, the Nutrafix hair masque, the hair thickening gel, etc. All of them are high-quality and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase them again.

Conditioner -DermOrganic - Masque Intensive Hair
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 2/17/2013 10:32:00 PM

I'll just add myself to the plethora of Dermorganic fans c: This is truly amazing. I use this at least once a week, every week. It doesn't leave my hair greasy at all like I normally expect a mask to do; it just leaves my hair super shiny and smooth. I have extremely thin, fine hair and normally my hair is shiny and soft anyway, but this just brings it to a whole new level. Trust me, you're going to get SUCH great hair when you use this... It's amazing. Even on normal days, I'll take a squirt of this after I wash out my conditioner and rub it through my hair for a minute. It makes ALL the difference! I always air dry my hair, so I need to brush it when it's wet, and using this makes the comb glide through so easily- which means no extra breakage! It's a bit expensive when you purchase it normally, but lately I've been finding it at TJ Maxx and stocking up on HUGE bottles of it for only $20. Between this masque and coconut oil, my hair feels so much better. Plus, cruelty-free and vegan. What more could you ask for?

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Twilight Bath Bomb
rated 4 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 2/8/2013 7:01:00 PM

I would definitely buy Twilight again. c: I used it around 9:00 P.M the other night and it really looked like a dream. It fizzes out so slowly and beautifully- I must admit that I prefer the color it gives off while fizzing, not so much afterwards when it diffuses into a murky purple. I didn't notice much of a smell, but my sense of smell is really quite terrible; I would say it's light and relaxing. I just remember stepping in and thinking, "wow, this looks like a dream"- can't emphasize that enough. It's so beautiful! And I think it made my skin softer, too; it certainly felt silkly in the water. Buy!

Mascara -E.L.F. - Studio Mineral Infused Mascara
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 2/8/2013 6:57:00 PM

I actually really like this mascara c: a fantastic cruelty-free, vegan mascara- and cheap, too! It looks very natural but not unnoticeable, it's just the perfect amount of length and volume to look natural and clean but not under-done, you know? I never noticed before, but my other mascara must be so DRY because this just puts it to shame... Beautiful beautiful beautiful. It has yet to clump on me and has a small plastic brush that seperates the lashes, so that's nice. It's seriously too cheap to not give it a try! I'll definitely buy again and tell my friends about it. I've actually brought it to school (I'm a senior in high school) to show my friends and members of my students-against-animal-cruelty club. It's seriously that good! It also doesn't leave horrible smudges under your eyes when it gets wet. c:

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Sex Bomb
rated 4 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 1/22/2013 10:51:00 PM

This was my first bath bomb from Lush and I'm giving it a four for now- this is because I'm unable to compare it with other Lush bath bombs. I enjoyed watching it fizz out in the water, and the dark pink color it turned the water. I love how pretty this looks dry, when you buy it in the store, as well. The water wasn't translucent, either, which is important to me- I'd rather it be somewhat cloudy. I used Sex Bomb in conjunction with the bath melt Ceridwen's Cauldron, though, so I'm not sure which made the water cloudy. The flower in the middle is pretty when it pops out, initially, but does turn soggy rather quickly. I just fished it out and threw it away, so that wasn't too bad (though a few stray petals floated around the tub a little, which was annoying). Otherwise, I really enjoy the scent- I'm not sure if I really get a strong hint of jasmine, but perhaps I'm used to more sharp notes of jasmine whereas this is muted and soft. Either way, I like this scent very much; it's been two days since I used this bath bomb and the scent still lingers in my bathroom!

Eyeliner -NYX - retractable eye liner
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 1/5/2013 6:00:00 PM

I love this eyeliner! I always buy in black, but I play around with some of the other colors sometimes. I actually love this eyeliner so much that I gift it to my girlfriends c: I've never had a problem with the packaging, the liner goes on smoothly, has a nice color, etc. Best of all, it stays on all day and doesn't smear a bit! That's really what makes it my favorite eyeliner (and the cheap price). Anyway, NYX never disappoints me c: what a great cruelty-free makeup company.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
rated 4 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 1/5/2013 5:55:00 PM

For reference: I have acne-prone skin that scars very easily and dries out very easily, as well. I recieved the Mia for Christmas and I'm very happy with it c: Come to think of it, I actually can't imagine cleaning my face without it! My face feels so much cleaner after using it and my pores really do look so much smaller. Like other reviewers have said, the products you use following the Mia will be absorbed much better and give you better results, as well. I've found, though, that some of the other products I use are too powerful for use after the Mia. AHA products 8% or higher seem to sting something awful now, but I'm getting used to it- they've been working wonders for my skin, too! I haven't noticed the purging that many others are talking about, and that's really saying something because my skin breaks out at the slightest touch. I may have noticed some bumps, but they're not red and they're not painful- and I'm not even sure that I can contribute them to the Mia. Anyway, I would recommend using it once a day if you've got skin like mine- thin, easily dried out, prone to redness, etc. I notice that it makes my skin a bit red all over for a few minutes post-cleansing.

Masks -Freeman - Facial Clay Mask - Mint & Lemon
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 12/16/2012 7:01:00 PM

One of my two favorite masks from Freeman c: the other being the Avocado one. This one, though, makes my face so much brighter. I love it! The radiance is amazing, probably because of the lemon, and the price just can't be beat. Most places I can get a tube for two bucks on sale (and it's always on sale in Ulta, really). I love that it has no animal ingredients and that the company is cruelty-free. Great price, great company, great products... Just try it!

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 12/15/2012 10:39:00 PM

Like many other viewers, I am not using Bragg's. I don't personally think brand makes much of a difference, though. As a toner, I think this is exceptional. I dilute one part water, one part ACV, and sometimes a few drops of tea tree oil. I always go to this to clean my face without drying it out c: it makes my face feel so clean and nice, it's really indescribable. I use it at least once a day, and twice on some days. It's good if you just want to clean up your face without taking any serious skincare steps- pour some on a cotton pad, swipe it over your face, and yay! Clean!

Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - 14% AHA Swipes
rated 5 of 5
sugarfreepersonality 12/15/2012 7:20:00 PM

I was originally going to give this four lippies, but I think I've just come to have very high expectations from Alpha Hydrox. Such a great brand! These pads don't leave my skin dry, as I had expected them to. Quite the opposite, actually; I'm so glad I don't have to worry about these making my skin all tight and dry. I used them every other day before bed, but you could really use them at any point in the day because they don't make your face red (what a nice surprise!) And I have to say that they've definitely evened out my skin tone, far faster and more than I ever thought possible. It stings for a little after swiping it over your face, but it's not unbearable and it definitely doesn't last, so I don't mind. The price is kind of annoying but it's worth it; the packaging could be a bit bigger, I think, because it's difficult to pinch one out. But these are such trivial complaints c:
