Sunscreen -Coppertone - Oil Free Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF 60

This is alright to use on your body, however I strongly discourage using it on the face, particularly if you're a contact lens wearer. They made my eyes sting very, very badly and after washing my lenses multiple times I was still unable to remove the irritant and had to throw them out. I'll use up what I have left on my body but I won't be repurchasing.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label

I decided to jump on the B.B. bandwagon and boy, was I lucky that this was my first try! I absolutely love this product. It does a fantastic job of evening my skin tone without looking "made up", it helps to mattify my skin (though I'm not super oily), it protects, and there is a noticeable improvement to my skin's appearance. Since wearing it for the past 3 weeks, I've been able to venture outside sans maquillage a few times just because my skin has been improved that much. It has definitely helped to fade acne scars. The best part, though, is that it has not caused any breakouts. I tend to break out in cystic acne around my chin with many foundations and tinted moisturizers, and my acne seems to be under control. I would say that this has substantial coverage, before purchasing I was used to Almay's Nearly Naked foundation and I found this to have slightly more coverage. It's also very thick so you really don't need a whole lot of product to even your skintone. I got this at Gloria Fashion and Gift in Toronto's Koreatown for $28 and I feel that it was worth every penny. The website claims that they are cruelty-free. Absolutely will be buying again and again!

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick Really Red
rated 5 of 5
sugarcheri 4/3/2012 9:39:00 PM

This is a great shade of red for me-- they are almost always too orange, I'm not sure why, but I love this. I would probably caution people to use a lipbrush because it is a VERY bold red, and mistakes will show up. This is a really killer lipstick for the "Mad Men" look that is taking the beauty world by storm. Buy it, indulge your inner glamazon!

Styling Products -TRESemme - Instant Heat Tamer Spray
rated 5 of 5

So far I really do love this spray. I just recently started using a curling iron on a regular basis and I was worried about damage-- I've been using this for about a month and I haven't noticed any severe damage to my hair, so I suppose that means it's working! It also helps to hold the curl, smells great, and Tresemme is cruelty-free. The packaging travels well. I will definitely repurchase.

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Mascara (Thickening)
rated 5 of 5
sugarcheri 3/13/2012 9:43:00 PM

I think this mascara does a great job of thickening your lashes. It won't add tonnes of length, but I do find that Almay mascaras do a great job of making your lashes healthier. I also find that they are bit too wet when they're fresh and that they tend to work better after a week or so. All-in-all a pretty good thickening mascara!

Moisturizers -Jamieson - Vitamin A Night Renewal Treatment

Well, now that I'm getting on I suppose it's time to start buying a decent anti-aging moisturizer. Thank goodness for this forum, because I was thrilled to discover something that does a wonderful job moisturizing and not only does not cause breakouts but seems to prevent them as well! And you just can't beat the price, and it's cruelty free. I've been using this for a month now, and my skin has noticeably improved a great deal. The fine lines around my eyes have all but disappeared and I'm also noticing an improvement around deep creases on my forehead. Also, a while back I was visiting a woman in her 70's and I was amazed by how beautiful her skin was-- when I went to use her washroom, there was a jar of this on her counter! I will definitely keep using this!

Conditioner -TRESemme - Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
rated 5 of 5

This is a great moisturizing conditioner! I have terribly damaged coloured hair and I love this. It also smells great, and you can't beat the price. Also, because it's silicone free I like to add a bit as leave-in conditioner once in a while. And it's cruelty-free which is always a plus for me.

Shampoo -John Frieda - Sheer Blonde Color Renew Tone-Restoring Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
sugarcheri 3/4/2012 5:50:00 PM

This shampoo is a *must* for blondes who use drugstore hair colour! It works beautifully-- I use it 4 times a week, and keep it on for about 3 minutes before rinsing. It's nice and subtle and definitely helps me to keep the brass away.

Liquid -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup
rated 4 of 5
sugarcheri 3/4/2012 5:47:00 PM

I switched to this foundation because I needed something to control my breakouts-- this really does the trick! I usually use the lightest shades of foundation, but I found "buff" was better than the ivory for me. It wasn't too pink (as pale foundations often are) and is a great match to my skintone. My only caveat is that it can be a bit flaky and doesn't have any spf, but I find it helps if I apply it right after my sunscreen. I really like the new pump! All-in-all, I can definitely recommend this product!

Eyeliner -Hard Candy - Walk the Line eyeliner in Praline
rated 5 of 5
sugarcheri 9/12/2011 10:04:00 PM

This is a great liquid eyeliner, and for 5.95 CDN it's a steal! The colour is fantastic for a less dramatic look than one usually gets with liquid eyeliner and it stayed put through a crying jag, a yoga workout, and long walk home. It's also cruelty free and has cute packaging. I will definitely be buying this on a regular basis!

Lips -Burt's Bees - Lip Shimmer in Fig
rated 5 of 5
sugarcheri 9/3/2011 9:18:00 PM

This is my HG daytime lip product! Just the right amount of colour and I love the peppermint oil. The fig shade also works well with my ruddy colouring and high lip pigmentation. Very decently price, and an environmentally responsible product! :)

Lotions/ Creams -J. R. Watkins - Lavender Shea Butter
rated 5 of 5
sugarcheri 9/3/2011 8:53:00 PM

I like to use lavender scented products at night because I have terrible insomnia and it really helps with my anxiety. This has a wonderful lavender scent making it useful for aromatherapy, but is also a terrific moisturizer. The consistency is thick and luxurious- I only need to apply it once at night. I also use it on my cracked heels and it works great! Good value too!

Pressed Powders -Almay - Clear Complexion Light & Perfect Pressed Powder
rated 1 of 5
sugarcheri 9/3/2011 8:33:00 PM

When I first bought this powder I thought it worked fine. The coverage was nice and didn't cause me to break out. Unfortunately, after using it regularly for about 2 weeks, it became completely unusable. The powder became rock hard and impossible to pick up with the applicator (which fell apart soon after). Tant pis!

Liquid -Almay - Nearly Naked LIQUID foundation
rated 5 of 5
sugarcheri 9/3/2011 6:49:00 PM

I've usually only used tinted moisturizer but I decided I wanted a little more coverage so I decided to give this a try. I love it! It gives a great natural finish to the skin, doesn't make me break out and doesn't settle into creases or fine lines. It's also a fantastic price, though I'd be willing to pay a bit more if they added a pump. I thought I'd need the lightest shade but it was a bit pink for me so I use it in Buff 140. This is definitely my HG foundation!
