Gels/Soaps -Caress - Exotic Oil Infusions- Brazilian
strawberryicepop 5/30/2009 6:03:00 PM
Overall, this is a very mediocre product. This is the only Caress oil wash I've gotten, and I wasn't very impressed. It did moisturize my skin but not much better than any other moisturizing wash. I loved the scent at first, but then got really sick of it, then hated it; it started to smell like rotten fruit or something. The texture was also way too thick; it reminded me of really thick hair conditioner and was hard to lather up, even with a pouf. Many people here seem to be saying good things about the Moroccan one so maybe I'll try that one next.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Skin Smoothing Lotion
strawberryicepop 5/26/2009 3:21:00 PM
First Impression:
I was surprised at all the bad reviews here. I picked this up yesterday since I needed a lotion to exfoliate some slight ingrown hairs on my legs. The consistency is really nice, a clear-ish gel with blue beads that I like, and it makes you really rub the lotion in which I like as well. Just put it on last night and now (the afternoon) it seems to have lessened some of the ingrown hairs a bit, and I also put some on my very rough and flaky elbows; it seems to have smoothed them out as well. I also like the scent, doesn't smell plasticky to me...
Another enormous plus is that with almost very other lotion I've tried, even if they sink in quickly, they still left my skin a little tacky. This on the other hand, sinks in fast and leaves my skin touchably soft right after which I love.
I'll come back after a couple of weeks or so to give an update, but it has left me with a very good first impression :)

Shampoo -Suave - Daily Clarifying Shampoo
strawberryicepop 5/25/2009 3:05:00 PM
First of all, I probably have the greasiest hair/scalp and I have to wash it everyday with a clarifying shampoo. I usually use Head and Shoulders but bought this when seeing the low price, wanted to see if it could replace my H&S. It does get my hair superclean, but dries out my hair really badly. When I wash it out, it's squeaky clean in a bad way, it tangles my hair really badly, so I only use it when my hair is disgustingly dirty, and use a deep conditioner afterwards. The one thing that I really like though is that it works really well to clean my brushes and makes them really soft.

Blush -SugarBaby - Pink Ink
strawberryicepop 5/23/2009 9:58:00 PM
I've literally had this product for years, bought it on a whim at TJ Maxx due to the insanely cheap price ($5 iirc) and ended up never really using it. Then I recently became obsessed with lipstains, and I went through my stash and saw that it was the perfect color I was looking for! I exfoliated, and rubbed this in, gave me a beautiful flush that looked absolutely perfect, though I'd use a balm over it to prevent dryness, though what I don't like is that the lasting power isn't great...but it's so pretty that I'm willing to reapply.

Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - Drenched in Pink Fresh & Clean Supersoft Body Lotion
strawberryicepop 5/22/2009 7:59:00 PM
I really like this lotion, both for the smell and the moisturizing qualities. It really does smell fresh and clean, yet citrusy and fruity at the same time. It also makes your skin extremely soft! SInce I have so many body lotions, I really only use this when I want to give myself a treat :) I have the driest elbows ever and this softens them right up.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
strawberryicepop 5/22/2009 7:48:00 PM
First of all, you should not be using this if you are dry, or else it will wreak havoc on your skin, but if not then it can be good for you :)
I have very oily, acne prone skin, though the acne's now under control with prescriptions and I love it. It didn't, however, fix my huge pores and oiliness, and that's where this little beauty comes in! I also get the occasional bumps which this also fixes. The very first time I used it I freaked out because it burned a little bit, but then your skin gets used to it, and it feels very refreshing once rinsed off. Leaves your skin clean, soft, and seems to lessen the look of pores which I LOVE. It also dries up those little pimples overnight. Though I do recommend putting on a good moisturizer afterwards, as it can dry out skin no matter how oily.
I also remember that when my skin was still pretty bad, I had an enormous pustule on my cheek. Fortunately it was the weekend so I washed my face, and put this on, left it on the entire day, and it brought all the gunk up to the surface where I then squeezed it out (very carefully!!) and it was pretty much gone in the next 2 days :D
So in short, this thing is pretty much my HG :)
I got a HUGE tub of this at Sally's for $5!
(I also use the QH Apricot Masque on days where I just want to nurture my skin a bit more than just cleansing, I also have a review on that).

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Feria Haircolor
strawberryicepop 5/22/2009 7:42:00 PM
COLOR: Crystal Brown I must say that I love this color. My natural color is black but I've been dying/highliting the crap out of it for years and wanted something soft yet natural. My hair had Feria Chocolate Cherry in it before I used this and I was getting tired of the faded red so when I went to the store I just picked this up, I also love the name, Crystal Brown...;) This color turned out so beautifully without any hassle, very true to its name. A beautiful light yet somehow rich and gorgeous brown. It also left my hair very soft and sleek afterwards and I kept getting compliments on the color, still do! People think I got it done at a salon!

Liquid -Boots - No7 Stay Perfect Foundation
strawberryicepop 5/22/2009 3:10:00 PM
First of all, I absolutely love this foundation. It has adjustable coverage, and ever since I got my acne under control, I only need to cover the scars and spots which this does perfectly without concealer. It has a very matte finish which I absolutely love, I actually apply it with BE's powder brush from their intro kit and it makes my skin look flawless without being cakey or heavy-looking.
Beforehand, I use Olay Complete moisturizer for Oily/Combo w/spf15, Boots No7 Shine-Free primer, and powder over with Equate body powder. Then apply this.
It doesn't break me out one bit!
Finding the right shade can be difficult, but I've always been bad at that. Shade selection isn't terrible but could be better imo. Though the one I have is perfect for me (Buff #15).
Originally discovered it in England on a trip there but this is available at Target.

Masks -Queen Helene - Apricot Moisturizing Mask
strawberryicepop 5/19/2009 7:04:00 PM
I use both this mask and the Mint Julep alternately; both I absolutely love! I use the Julep more when I'm feeling oily or my pores are huge, and at my TOTM.
This I use when I'm not having a lot of problems. It feels really refreshing going on and smells great. It makes my skin softer and supple, as well as deep cleaning my skin; not greasy or slick which is pretty good for a moisturizing mask. I'm also acne-prone and this doesn't break me out at all. I get both masks at Sally's in a HUGE tub for $5, it lasts forever and is an amazing deal, HG!

Blush -Maybelline - Dream mousse blush in soft plum [DISCONTINUED]
strawberryicepop 5/19/2009 6:04:00 PM
I really wanted to like this blush and was so excited to try it out. The texture is really nice, whipped and soft, and seemed blendable - I tested it out by rubbing between my fingers to see what it was like and it seemed smooth.
However, it's very difficult to work with, it goes on splotchy and quite hard to blend, though when I rarely get it to listen, it gives a nice flush, I like this color a lot, as well as the slight shimmer. I just don't think this is worth the effort; I want to basically slap it on and go, which I can't do. It also isn't great in terms of staying power. And I'm always afraid of dropping and breaking the glass jar. Not worth the money imo.

Eye Shadow -Sugar Cosmetics - Day Job Palette
strawberryicepop 5/19/2009 5:31:00 PM
I got this at TJ Maxx for a very good price, about $6 if I remember correctly. Anyways, this palette is decent, the colors are nice. I like blending the two browns over my lids, though that's about it, I hardly use the other colors. These aren't very vibrant, good for a sheer wash - I like my shadows more vibrant. You should preferably use a primer beforehand as some of them aren't as long lasting as the others. But I like how they go on very smoothly. I know I wouldn't buy this again full price ($20), but I use it. The packaging is cute, slim shiny white with fuschia lines.

Primer/ Corrector -Boots - No7 Shine Free Make-Up Base
strawberryicepop 5/17/2009 2:44:00 PM
I first bought this on a trip to England. My face is a complete oil slick and I'm always looking for a good mattifier, so this looked promising. I hated it at first 'cause it balled up, dried too fast and didn't blend.
But then I realized the key to this is to follow the instructions EXACTLY as it appears.
In short, moisturize and smooth over the face.
You MUST have a well-moisturized face in order for this to work well and avoid the balling up. And you must just smooth it over, NO RUBBING IT IN. This way it works beautifully under makeup and works to control my oil. As long as you know how to use it, it's fast and efficient. Love it. :) Possibly HG! Time will tell.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Baby Bees Buttermilk Lotion
strawberryicepop 5/15/2009 9:12:00 PM
I'm a bit on both sides when it comes to this lotion. It seems a bit watery compared to most lotions and has a strange smell: between baby lotion and medicine. I do like how it spreads easily, though it is a bit greasy at first. But then the day after it makes your skin a bit softer and moisturized, but not more so than others. It does soothe my skin when I have a bit of redness or itchiness but that's what aloe gel is for. The bottle also makes it hard to get out. I want to like it but can't. :/ Overall, not very good for the price. I can't justify spending around $8 on a mediocre lotion.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Ultra Healing Lotion
strawberryicepop 2/22/2009 10:22:00 AM
Overall, I really like this lotion. Even though right after I apply it, it leaves a kind of waxy film/stickiness over my arms for some reason (arms only?), it makes my skin very soft and smooth, including my arms when the waxy/sticky feeling finally goes away. I just use some body powder on my arms when I'm in a hurry to get rid of the waxiness/stickiness. And it IS really healing. I had a scratch from some plastic on my bath pouf, and although it kind of stung, by the next day the scratch was completely gone! Same thing for some razor burn. I would buy this again, but I want to try the Shea Butter, and Original Jergens.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning lotion
strawberryicepop 1/4/2009 10:35:00 AM
I really wanted to like this lotion. I guess I can describe my experience with it as a "love-hate" relationship. On one hand, it moisturized pretty well and left my skin smooth and soft. On the other hand, although it seemed to absorb quickly, it left a tacky, sticky, slightly greasy-ish film on my skin that made it an absolute nightmare to put clothes on right after. I had to wait about 20 minutes to wait for the film-feeling to go away, and even then. if i ran my hand across my skin, it wasn't really smooth at all. It went away by the next day, leaving my skin soft and smooth, but it isn't worth the discomfort and long wait imo. I have finished the bottle, and found a new better lotion.
