Mascara -Chanel - Mascara Exceptionnel

I don't understand some of the raving reviews on this product? The brush is so big and clunky and just very tricky to use without getting clumps... Took me MANY attempts to achieve a passable look, ie. separated lashes that look longer and more full... I would have given up even trying had I not run out of my usual lancome mascara... HIGHLY suggest you get a tester before buying, even the sales assistant quietly told me how badly it functions as a mascara... enough said!

Blush -NARS - Luster
rated 4 of 5

I have been on the hunt for a peach (not pink!) blush for ages... The problem I have had is that they 1) do not show up on my skin (NC30) 2) are too pink (not a good look on me) or 3) they have too much shimmer that I may aswell have used eye shadow. Thank god for luster! It's most definately peach not pink and pigmented enough even for medium skins like mine... has very good staying power and just the right amount of shimmer, a glow as opposed to a mirror ball shine... one lipstick deducted for the price, which is obviously bumped up due to the packaging... As must as I like the packaging for Nars, personally I don't really think a blush needs its own mirror... just my opinion... PS, looks great on the apples of cheeks with laguna in the contours of the cheek

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50

I wish I had found this product sooner! I bought this product having heard many raves about it. I have very oily skin around my t-zone and this product has dramatically reduced the oilyness, so much so that I don't even use my blot powder anymore (this is miraculous as I had previously depended my life on powder!). My only complaint is that it feels a little bit greasy at first, but on the bright side, it is this quality that gives a lovely dewy texture to the skin even under my foundation (for reference, I use Lancome Color ID - a very lightweight foundation). This is a definate repurchase as I havnt found anything better to reduce oilyness or the redness of blemish scars.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Viva Glam V Lipglass
rated 4 of 5
strawberry_blush 4/7/2007 5:38:00 PM

I bought this completely as an impulse buy! The colour is pretty much my exact natural lip colour so it really just enhances this and adds a bit of sparkle, which btw i had no idea was so visible in the sunlight - i caught myself in the mirror with GOLD lips! I probably would exchange this for Lust (in my opinion, the same colour but minus the sparkle) except the viva glam range is all for charity so..

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes - Melon
rated 4 of 5

The colour of this gloss is a very subtle pinky/red, which just slightly enhances the natural colour of the lips. Nice for a daytime look, particularly if you like your make up to be very natural like i do, or if you tend to wear heavy make up around the eyes. The gloss itself glides on beautifully over lip balm, and unlike SO many other lip glosses, my lips are not soggy/chapped after a few hours of wear. Another thing i like about this is the fact that it does not contain any glitter, but i guess that is personal preference. The packaging is very unfussy, which you either like or you dont. Personally, i would prefer packaging like the Color Fever range, which also come with a foam applicator; and for the price you pay for juicy tubes, a little classier packaging wouldn't go a miss! Anyway, i probably will buy this lip gloss again, unless i can find a lip gloss of a similar colour, but slightly more visible once applied.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
rated 5 of 5
strawberry_blush 3/19/2007 5:13:00 PM

Im really surprised by this mascaras 3.5 average rating! I loved this mascara the first time i used it, and although ive tried others (dior and benefit to name a few), ive always come back to Clinique. Builds thick but separated lashes, does not smudge (even on my very oily skin) and it also lifts lashes beautifully, great for small eyes! On my second tube, I will no doubt buy more! My only criticism is that i dont think the dark green/black glittery packaging is very classy, but its minor enough not to lose a lippy!

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
rated 4 of 5

Generally, I do like this bronzer. Its very fine, blendable and has a very subtle shimmer (I absolutely cannot stand glitter). With a little amount, Laguna gives a natural colour without looking grubby. My only criticism is the price (prices in the UK are much higher than the US!). Hopefully it will last a while, particularly as to purchase this I have to travel into central London!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Moth Brown
rated 5 of 5

beautiful colour - charcoal, but with a slight purple to it. I would imagine this colour would suit everyone. Gorgeous for smokey eyes, and very easy to create!! I also love the little barbie imprint. Admitedly got a bit carried away with the whole Barbie thing, ended up forking out ridiculous money for the mini make up bag aswell !!

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
rated 2 of 5

I bought this last month after reading reviews on here.. bit dissapointed for a number of reasons. Firstly, it smudges a lot, even worse than most cheaper pharmacy-type mascaras.. not really what i expected for the £14.50 i paid.. it also doesnt lift eyelashes at all. however, it does build lashes eventually but the brush makes this task tricky.. think i'll just stick to my Clinique High Impact or Lancome L'extreme..

Liquid -Lancome - Color ID
rated 5 of 5
strawberry_blush 1/15/2007 1:58:00 PM

The staple of my make-up bag! It's very light and so leaves a natural/flawless look. A little pricey but well worth it. *UPDATE* This product has been re-launched as Color Ideal. I was given a few samples yesterday in 03, and im glad to say it still has it's light property! However, those of you who didn't like this foundation because it rubbed off too easily, will be glad to know it now gives slightly more coverage. Now there's no excuse not to love this foundation!

I received The One for christmas, and its lovely. Although, I will probably only wear it for evening occasions; its a little strong for the day!
