Blush -Clinique - Blushwear Cream Stick - Glow Blush
rated 5 of 5

I'm in love with this blush. I prefer creams, and this stick is perfect because it's not at all greasy. The color is buildable and immediately brightens my face (very dark brown hair, hazel eyes, light complexion). I wear this alone with mascara and SS or with my full makeup. Well worth the $.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Sheer Cheek Tint (all) Summer 2009

I really wanted to love this blush. I love the color (Sheer Mauve, which is really natural looking), but it's just so greasy. Maybe I haven't found the right way to apply it, but I end up with two pretty colored greasy streaks on my cheekbones.

Liquid -Clinique - Perfectly Real Makeup

Where has this foundation been all my life? I've been using tinted moisturizers and mixing liquid bronzers with my sunscreen for years now, and I know I wasn't getting enough protection. I got this in Shade 12 ( I have hazel eyes and very dark brown hair). I wear it over a physical sunscreen (after the sunscreen dries) and this creates a perfect finish - not oily and not drying or cakey. I have normal skin that never breaks out so maybe that would account for all the negative reviews. My HG!

Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
rated 1 of 5

I decided to try a cheaper moisturizer than the $55 stuff I've been using. I've heard good things about Olay, so I decided on this one. When I first applied it I felt a little stinging, but that's not unusual since I use Retin-A (BTW, I wasn't using Retin-A when I tried this). When I woke up I had terrible red burn marks under my eyes and on my cheekbones that hurt like hell. I applied my Eucerin Q-10 for Sensitive Skin (duh, which I should have used to begin with), and the burns got better. I threw the Olay away; I don't want anyone else getting burns. I'm sticking to the Eucerin now, with great results.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Cream Eyeliner -Image

I would be willing to buy tis again, even though I have to apply it again after lunch because the color is an absolutley gorgeous shimmering dark green. I don't use it as an EL but instead as an ES applied with an Es brush to the lid and crease (as I do with BB Gel EL and Stila Pot EL). I have very dark hair , pretty fair skin, and hazel eyes. When it first goes on, it is BEAUTIFUL. It's my favorite ES color. The problem is, whereas the BB and Stila don't budge all day, this smears ans creases after lunch, which requires re-application. I don't understand how the smearing would allow this to work as an EL. I will buy again because the color is so gorgeous, but I have the same feeling about this as I do Lorac's Green Room ES, which never stays on. I feel like they're worth the trouble. Update - I've been using an ES primer with this, and no creases! Changing my review to 5 lippies!

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pot in Jade
rated 5 of 5
stinkpot 8/13/2009 10:07:00 AM

I love this stuff, but instead of using it as an EL, I apply it as an ES with an ES bruch onto my lid and crease. I have very dark hair, fair skin, and hazel eyes. It looks beautiful on; it really emphasizes my eyes for the better. And it stays on ALL DAY LONG. It look the same when I take it off as it did as soon as I applied it. The green is slightly shimmery and beautiful.

Lip Gloss -Laura Mercier - Stick Gloss in Pomegranate
rated 5 of 5
stinkpot 8/13/2009 10:03:00 AM

I couldn't do a better job of describing this than the reviewer below. It's somewhere between a lip gloss and a lip balm, with lipstick packaging. Pomeranate is what I would call a slightly "ramped up" YLBB color, which really brightens your face and is neutral enough to go with anything. I always find that when I use a lipstick like this I have to wear a lip balm underneath, but not with this. I like it so much I'm going to check Sephora for other colors the next time I'm there, although I don't know what can beat this. Highly recommended.

Sunscreen -EltaMD - UV Physical SPF 41
rated 4 of 5
stinkpot 5/31/2009 11:37:00 AM

My dermatologist only recommends physical sunscreens, so for quite a while I was using Blue Lizard Sensitive SPF 30 for Baby. The problem is it left a white cast, which I quickly solved by mixing it with a liquid bronzer. Perfect. Then I because concerned and emailed Blue Lizard and they told me that mixing in the bronzer was diluting the coverage. Anyway, I found this, which is physical AND tinted. My skin is light-medium and it's a perfect match, so I'm not sure how it would work on another skin tone. I use it like a tinted moisturizer. I feel like I'm getting good coverage; I use Retin-A and Obagi Blender at night so my skin is quite sensitive, but this ss is very gentle. I haven't experienced any stinging or adverse effects. It's nothing spectacular, but so far I like it and will purchase again.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Twice Baked

I'm really on the fence about this ES. It's exactly the color I was looking for, a dark brown with shimmer, but it's not as pigmented as I would like and has a kind of gritty texture. On the other hand, it doesn't crease and seems to stay in place all day. If this had the consistancy and feel of a Stila ES, I would give it five stars. Unfortunately, I'll have to keep seaching for my HG shimmery dark brown everyday ES.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Sheer Lip Colour- Nude Lips
rated 4 of 5
stinkpot 5/17/2009 11:45:00 AM

OK, I admit it. I buy so much makeup I have a new HG lipstick just about every week. This is the latest. It's a very moisturizing, warm nude, YLBB color. I don't need lip balm underneath, which is important to me. I've been wearing a lot less makeup lately (no ES or EL), and this just brightens my face and make my look complete. Highly recommended. Update: I still really like the LS, but I'm officially back to my HG, Dior Addict High-Shine Lipstick New Look Beige #220.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash

I don't understand the poor reviews for this mascara! I got a deluxe sample at Sephora and have used it ever since. It never clumps on me. It really emphasizes my lashes without looking fake. I can use up to three coats without clumps and without looking artificial. I did take away one lippie b/c of the price. Update: I stopped using this because the longer the day, the more the product ended up smeared under my eye. Now I'm using Buxom Lash by BE, which is fabulous.

Eye Primer -Smashbox - Photo Finish Lid Primer

This doesn't work at all for me. What good is an ES primer if it never dries? It just creates creases.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Cream in Grand Bleu
rated 4 of 5
stinkpot 5/1/2009 8:46:00 AM

My husband NEVER comments on my makeup, but everytime I use this ES he tells me he likes it. That alone is enough to give it 4 lippies. It's a beautiful shimmery light blue that's slightly sheer; I wear it on my lid and crease with no eye liner. Adding a powder ES on top really intensifies the color and makes it last forever, but it looks pretty cool by itself. It's not a color I wear everyday. I usually go with neutrals or greens (I have hazel eyes and very dark hair), but I pull this out every couple of weeks to impress my husband.

Concealers -Cargo - Blu-ray concealer
rated 5 of 5
stinkpot 5/1/2009 8:26:00 AM

This is a great concealer. I've been using different Bobbi Brown concealers for years and they all are so heavy they have to be applied with a concealer brush. This has a sponge tip applicator and you have to get some practice at getting the right amount out, but you use such a small amount you get used to it fast. I had to build up the BB concealers, and I noticed that they were looking too thick and shiny and not blending that well. This stuff has a much thinner consistancy, and I think it covers better with lots less product. It is buildable, but thin enough that it looks completely natural and not shiny. I'm in love with it. It is expensive though, so be sure to try it some place where you can return it if you don't like it or get the wrong color. I got color 1, which I had to immediately return to Sephora because it was way too light. Color 2 is perfect, and I'm light-medium. There isn't anything beyond 2, so I don't know what you'd do if you have darker skin. I highly recommend this.

Eye Shadow -LORAC - Green Room
rated 2 of 5
stinkpot 4/25/2009 2:58:00 PM

What an amazing color! I've never seen another ES color like it. Sephora describes it as "deep emerald green sheen," but it's a mix of several different tones. It's not a "sheen," it's a really dark shadow I wear all over my lid and in the crease with no liner. I took off one lippie because you have to apply it fairly heavily with a sponge applicator; when you use an ES brush it fades away and creases during the day. Gorgeous! Update: I'm taking a lippie away, even though I'm in love with the color. I applied with a sponge applicator yesterday and it all creased and wore off again. Not good.
