Powder -Bare Escentuals - Hydrating Mineral Veil

I expected this product to be good for mature skin because it is "hydrating". I have fair skin and lots of fine lines. The sheen in this powder looked cakey and really aged my skin. I couldn't see this in my bathroom but in natural sunlight, it looked awful! I will be returning the product today. I love the BE basic Mineral Veil without all the bells and whistles.

Liquid -Almay - Smart Shade Makeup SPF 15

I like the idea of a perfect match to your skin tone. This provides very sheer coverage. It comes out of the tube white and then changes color on your skin. My problem is that I have a few deep acne scars on my nose. This foundation just stayed white in those places. So I can only use it if I put a primer on my nose first and then rub the Smart Shade in very well. I probably won't wear it again.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - bare Minerals Foundation #2/#3 & Mineral Veil

This is one of those products I keep going back to purchase. I have tried Sonia Kashuk's mineral finishing powder and L'Oreal's but BE Mineral veil is my all-time favorite. It just leaves a silky -looking finish that I like. I don't feel "done" until I have put the Mineral Veil on.

Eyes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Big Beautiful Eyes
rated 5 of 5

I bought this on impulse. I was still looking for the perfect eye pallette. My fair skin has pink undertones. I can't wear a lot of browns because they look too yellow. These browns seemsto have more pink tones. I didn't think I would use the concealer because it is darker and yellower than what I usually use. However, it looked fine and I didn't look like I had those raccoon white circles under my eyes. The yellow helps neutralize the bluish dark circles. This comes with nice brushes and good directions. I definitely see myself using this up and purchasing again.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals ALL
rated 5 of 5

My fair skin gets oily in the summer and we have very high humidity. That's what attracted me to try BE in the first place. I am probably on my third or fourth jar. I have tried a Sonia Kashuk's mineral foundation powder and just didn't get enough coverage. I haven't found anything that covers like BE. It seems to stay put with less oiliness in the summertime. BUT I didn't like the introductory kit. The all over glow color or blush was too hard to use and too dark. I like the multi-task concealer in Well-Rested and in Bisque but not for under the eyes. I use cream concealers under the eyes before I put on the foundation. I also like the Mineral Veil. I stay away from all of the blushers because they are just loose pots of colored powder and there is no good way to control what goes on your brush. They are also way too easy to spill.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection
rated 4 of 5

This type of mascara forms little tubes around the eyelashes. Kevin Aucoin and English Ideas have similar formulations. I have to use moisturizer under my eyes so every mascara I try smudges except this tube concept. I bought the Two Faced brand because it comes in a dark brown. I absolutely does not smudge. Beware, though , that it is harder to get off. I don't use eye make-up removers because I am very sensitive in that area. The sales lady said to just hold a warm wet washcloth on my lashes for a bit and then wipe the mascara off. It doesn't come off quite as easily as that. I give them a chance to soak up the water then I gently pull them off. It looks like you are pulling out your own lashes but it's just the tubes that were around them. The packaging is fine but it comes with a very fat brush that takes some getting used to. If you get some on your eyelid when applying, just wait til it dries . Then it is much easier to get off.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Shocking Shadow Pigment- Valiant
rated 4 of 5

This is a loose powder eye shadow in a small jar with a shaker top and a nice brush comes with it. Unlike the BE mineral eye shadows, it is not going to spill everywhere if it is dropped. The color is a shimmery periwinkle. I love it, even on my 46 yr old eyelids! I am wearing it over my Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes kit in the outer corners and slightly up into the crease. I have fair skin and green/hazel eyes. I find it very flattering. I read the MUA reviews before I bought this. The color that you see is the color that goes on your lid. I'm glad this will last a long time for me because I love it!
