Moisturizers -100 Percent Pure - Coffee Cherry Caffeine Face Cream
steph_eina 8/14/2010 5:43:00 PM
My mom, my brother, and I use this cream and we all love it, despite having all different skin types. This is great for combination skin, sensitive skin, and acne-prone skin especially. I'm glad it's wax-free because wax particles in most creams tend to clog my pores. The texture is sort of light-medium creamy, not heavy at all, and it absorbs nicely into the skin. It smells really good and hydrates well, but in the winter it's not as hydrating so I have to layer a serum or oil underneath it first. Sometimes the pump is defective (my mom got a funky one), and I'd prefer if it was packaged in a tube. Other than that, this is a wonderful cream.

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - RMS Beauty
steph_eina 8/14/2010 5:37:00 PM
I hate to give RMS a bad review because I love their other products, but their cream eye shadow just didn't cut it for me. I loved the texture and the fact that it's very moisturizing and goes right on. However, if your eyelids are not bone dry all the time, this is going to last you all of 2 hours before it fades right off. It's too bad because I love the colors and cream shadows are excellent, especially for summer.

Mascara -L'Oreal - FeatherLash [DISCONTINUED]
steph_eina 11/5/2005 1:15:00 AM
My absolute FAVORITE mascara. I have long, rather thick eyelashes that don't need help - except for the fact that they're blondish/reddish and so they don't stand out as much. I've used this for over 2 years and it does a beautiful job of adding a nice color (I use their dark brown one) without clumps. ~The trick~ is to not pump your mascara and wipe off excess on a tissue. I only use a few super-light strokes on my upper lashes only. Wonderful wonderful stuff, no issues, and not as many chemicals as other brands.

Shave Products -Aveeno - Positively Smooth Shave Gel
steph_eina 10/10/2005 11:15:00 PM
I really like this. I used to use Kiehl's Shaverettes but I didn't want to keep going to the other side of town to repurchase. :P So far, this has proved to be a very nice substitute. I like the creamy lather and the smell - it's a quirky smell and I could only describe it as sort of like original soy milk. I haven't shaved my legs in two weeks and they're still smooth with very little hair (then again, I'm also blonde and being uberhairy doesn't run on the female side). The only thing I've noticed that didn't occur with my Kiehl's is I feel dry on my legs the next day, but I guess that can be remedied easily. I still think the biggest plus to this stuff is it really does lessen my shaving requirment down to about 2 or 3 weeks - the new hair that grows in is also very soft and thin.

Treatments -Joico - k-pak deep penetrating reconstructor
steph_eina 10/10/2005 11:08:00 PM
My HG! I have finely textured, loosely curly, strawberry blonde hair (if you're familiar with naturallycurly.com I have "3a") that has never been colored. I've been using this for about 3 years to keep my hair long and strong. I've tried other hair treatments like Nexxus and others, but I keep coming back to K-Pak. It smells like bananas so leaving it on for 5+ minutes is no torture. My hairstylist also said you can put it on, give it one quick rinse so you leave about 90% still in, go to sleep, then wake up in the morning and wash it out. However, I usually just leave it on my whole shower and rinse it out for lovely hair. I use it about once or twice a month - too much and you might get protein build-up if you don't clarify your hair or shampoo regularly.

Lips -Kiehls - Lip Balm SPF 15
steph_eina 10/10/2005 10:54:00 PM
This is vaseline, basically. The only difference is that is isn't quite as thick as vaseline and it costs $7.99 for half an ounce. I like the shape of the tube, it's easy to apply, but the seam at the top of the tube will break easily if you put it in your pocket or it gets jostled around. I purchased two and had to get them both replaced because I had gooey lip balm coming out of the seam. The strangest part is perhaps a reaction to the ingredients I had - my lips would peel and if I put it on at night to moisturize my lips I'd wake up with smooth lips but they'd be peeled and I'd have to clean it away - how disgusting. I don't have that anymore now that I don't use it, thankfully. There are also many suspicious and chemical ingredients in it: petrolatum 66.2%, propylparaben, butylparaben, polyethylene...etc. etc.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
steph_eina 10/10/2005 10:44:00 PM
I've bought two of them and plan to purchase a few more for the family. It's $2.50 on the Burt's Bees site but I believe I get mine for between $2.99 and $3.99 per tube. What I LOOOOVE about it is that it's moisturizing (even for really dry winter lips) and not too "girly." The smell is pepperminty, which may lead some to think it's dry, but it's only the minty smell which is refreshing. I don't recommend the tin because you have to stick your fingers in it. Another good thing about this is it's natural and there's no petroleum byproducts (there are many health hazards linked to this and it's not something I'd want absorbed or accidentally ingested) in it - which is why I went off the Kiehl's lip balm (it was 66.2% petrolatum - gross!). Ingredients: Beeswax, coconut oil, sunflower oil, tocopheryl acetate & tocopherol (vitamin E), lanolin, peppermint oil, comfrey root extract, rosemary extract.

Primer/ Corrector -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat (Radiant Touch)
steph_eina 4/10/2005 2:45:00 AM
I love love love this stuff! It does a wonderful job of lightening any area - it looks like your skin, only more...glowy. I have sensitive dry skin and it doesn't do anything weird to my skin. My mom and I swear by it - we weren't sure at first because of the price, but we will both be repurchasing. I've had mine since December I think and it's still going strong! One tip though - wipe off the brush with a tissue when you're done. It's gross if you don't. Plus, don't keep it packed tightly with any other big cosmetic bottles and such, cos the button on the bottom could depress and waste this luvvly stuff. ;)

Treatments -Kiehls - Lecithin and Coconut Enriched Hair Masque with Panthenol
steph_eina 11/22/2004 2:41:00 PM
At first I was pretty pleased with it. I tried it on my just-past-the-shoulders, fine strawberry blonde curls and it turned them soft and defined. HOWEVER, a few weeks and several uses later, my hairdresser, family, and I all noticed a strange greenish tint in my hair. It was only on the back of my hair, where I apply the conditioner. I don't go swimming and we don't have chlorine, iron, or manganese in our water. Also, this was the only thing to have changed in my routine. Since I've stopped using it and applied Elucence Volume Clarifying Shampoo, the green tint is gone and hasn't come back. I would ONLY recommend this to darker haired people.

Treatments (Eye) -Kiehls - Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
steph_eina 11/21/2004 10:59:00 PM
My mom bought this one, but I use at night sometimes when my eye area gets extra dry. I notice on myself and my mom that it instantly brightens up the eye area and is super moisturizing. My mom doesn't look tired and her lines are lessened without makeup.

Cleansers -Kiehls - Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser
steph_eina 11/21/2004 10:55:00 PM
My staple! I'm 18 and I used to use Clarins' facial cleanser for sensitive skin, but I got tired of paying 20+ bucks a pop for an 8 oz tube. So I switched and its the best thing I've done with a face wash! It's an awesome texture and it really cleans my skin without the tightness or flakiness associated with most facial cleansers. I'm on my second bottle (this one's a 16 oz) and my first bottle (8 oz) lasted me a loooong time. I recommend this to anyone with dry (though not very dry, you'd probably want to try another Kiehl's cleanser for very dry skin), normal, or combo skin (like oily in the T and normalish or dryish everywhere else).

Lip Treatments -Kiehls - Lip Balm #1
steph_eina 11/17/2004 1:14:00 AM
I love this lip balm. It's not goopy and it moisturises very well. It lasts a long time on your lips and also in the tube. The only problem is the packaging - I've had to exchange two tubes for others because the seam breaks at the top and spurts out the balm. Other than that, it's perfect haha.

Treatments -Kiehls - drawing paste with azulene
steph_eina 11/16/2004 2:20:00 AM
This is absolute STAPLE!! It does smell, a bit like sulfur, but it's not overbearing or disgusting. You get used to it after a while. But besides the smell, it lasts forever and it's zit fighting abilities are unparalleled. I use it mostly to prevent pimples, and I am 100% satisfied. It also shortens existing pimples lifespan to about 2-3 days. I leave it on overnight and presto! I got my mom hooked on it too. :D

Shampoo -Kiehls - Amino Acid Shampoo
steph_eina 11/16/2004 2:17:00 AM
Smells nice, like coconut, thick. Probably a little drying, which I've noticed and isn't a result of the conditioner because even if I change condish I still get dry sometimes. Good volume and fullness.

Lotions/ Creams -Kiehls - Close Shaverettes "Simply Mahvelous Legs" Shave Cream
steph_eina 11/16/2004 2:11:00 AM
I LOVE this shaving cream, it's the best! I got the jar and I've had it for about 5 months, and I'm about half-way through, not even. It took me a few tries to get used to the consistency, but after that, you get the hang of it. You just have to warm it up in your hands and then spread it. Ever since I started using it, I've gotten ZERO cuts and ZERO ingrown hairs! I'm so happy with it. Plus, it doesn't stick badly to the razor and it just feels so luxurious.
