Polishes -Illamasqua - Noble

Described as a cyan blue, but nothing too bright on me. Looks nice, noticeable but not screaming for attention like a neon blue would. Goes on really smoothly, slight bald patches with the first coat, but nothing a second coat couldn't fix. Not too thin that it pools on your cuticles, but not too thick that it was a gloopy mess either, good formula. Price wise was kinda of expensive, £14 for a bottle in uk, but worth it if you love nail polishes and are looking for good quality. I have had this colour on for 3 days now, no signs of chipping, only minor tip wear which is inevitable but not noticeable. I've wore venous from illamasqua before and that lasted a week before i took it off. And it wasnt due to chipping or anything, simply because i fancied a different colour. Still looked as good as new despite wearing it for a week already. I haven't noticed any colours like this, great colour for summer. Would be interesting to see the effect of the uv top coat with this.

In the bottle, it looks stunning. Black with tiny dark grey speckles. However, just looks like a plain black on the nails. Quite disappointed. Speckles completely disappear after the top coat. Chips after 3-4 days (if I remember correctly). Haven't worn this for some time, but I remember it didn't last as long as my Chanels which would be around 5 days to a week. Got this as a birthday present, so saved the money there (lol!). Just wished it looked a bit more like it is in the bottle on the nail :( don't think I would buy this again!

Polishes -China Glaze - Custom Kicks

Swatches show that its like a teal colour, but its actually more green in real life. Looks a bit more like the swatches under sunlight I would say. Lovely bit of gold shimmer within. Good formula, opaque with 2 coats, then I use china glaze no chip top coat on top, and makes it shine :) HOWEVER. I must say, THIS STAINS YOUR NAILS AND SKIN LIKE MAD. I ruined some of my nails after 2 hours so had to redo them. When I took them off, I looked like I was poisoned or something! Greenish nails and greenish skin does not make a good look! It went around after a day and a shower, but still! Does not look good if you want to paint your nails another colour immediately then go out. Might try doubling up on the base coat before apply this colour again. I do like the colour, so might have to put up with the staining! I'll figure a way out to keep it to the minimum lol ;)

A beautiful wine colour, goes on smoothly. I've used 2 coats, but feel that it could do with another coat as there are lighter patches. Had it on for 4 days now, and has only chipped slightly. Under the sun it looks more like a purply red, like what you see where you search for swatches online. But in darker places, it goes more of a burgundy colour, like a more browny red. Can't get it in the UK though, asked my cousins to get it when they were in NY, and its cheaper, like £5 a bottle or something. I think this colour would be better in winter though, since its getting sunnier outside. Will look great if you're looking for a dark colour, but something a bit more colourful and not black.

Eyes -Bare Escentuals - Liner Shadow TLC
starzi 5/14/2012 2:52:00 PM
Tlc is a beautiful shimmery darkish blue. I wear on top of my prime time primer, and it glides on. However, does crease slightly, but not noticeable for me, and because i usually blend it when a darker shadow for the outer corners of my eyes, the bright blue some how disappears?! Not sure how that has happened, as I've only really used this once, but i will have to try it again soon. The shimmer is always present though when i apply it to my eyelid, as the trick is to PAT the shadow on, not sweep it on so the glitter will still be there. I used to sweep my shadows on until i found out about this. Hope this helps!

Beautiful intense black by Bare Minerals. Love it! If you want a really strong solid black then using your finger would be the best i reckon. But i usually use the prime time primer underneath then sweep the black on top. Don't have much problem with it being a loose powder, because if you dip you brush in the powder then tap off all the excess, only small amounts will fall onto your face. I dust a bit of loose powder under my eyes to catch all of this, then just sweep it off when I'm done. Blends really well, great for a dramatic smokey eye for a night out. Its also fantastic to use with their other eyeshadows if you want to darken the colour. Just add a tiny bit of the black with the other colour and mix :) definitely would buy this again as its the most intense black I've seen so far. Its slightly cheapet on feelunique.com and they offer free delivery! :)

Eye Primer -Bare Escentuals - bareVitamins Prime Time Eyelid Primer
starzi 5/14/2012 9:20:00 AM
Ok, first i must say, almost lost it the other day and eventually found it in my bin under the table! The tube is way too small and will get lost easily. Gets frustrating as it is not cheap! It was something like £16 for 3ml!? But, must say its a good primer for the lids. Preps my eyelids well, makes them feel like silk! Can start applying immediately after putting the primer on. And does what it says! I used bare minerals eyeshadows on top and they actually stay on the whole night! Great product, but not a fan of the price and size. Hopefully it will last a while since the amouny you need each time is tiny!

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua

Fabulous foundation, feels light on the skin and doesn't look cakey when you pile it on. Coverage is alright, not great, but maybe that's because I don't build it up as I go for the more natural look hehe. Face doesn't feel clogged when wearing it, still feels like my skin can breathe. Bit pricey I know, but its one of the more natural feeling foundations I think. Gets bit annoying at times when you've shaken it, but still comes out like water, so you'll have to do it all over again. I don't need a massive amount each time as it spreads quite well. Definitely will buy again when I'm done with my one now! :)

Mascara -Shiseido - Nourishing Mascara Base
starzi 4/7/2011 6:50:00 PM
Bought this after finished the old formula. Must say that the old formula is WAYYYYY better than this one! I feel that the old one thickens a lot more than this, but still, the Nourishing Mascara Base does do what it claims to. It protects your eyelashes, it still holds the curl, but just doesn't thickens as much. Why did they discontinue the old formula!? Still be getting this one tho I guess, can't find any that's better. It's not bad, just not as good as the old formula.

Polishes -Chanel - Le Vernis Nail Colour in Vendetta #483
starzi 3/7/2009 1:24:00 AM
Another fantastic nail colour from Chanel. Nice dark mysterious purple colour, doesn't chip easily, slight shimmer. One of the cons is that I think it's not purple enough. It would be better if was a slightly bit more dark purple than black, you can see the mysterious purple better when under the sunlight. But overall, its a nice nail polish.

Got this perfume for my 18th birthday, and I love it! It has this really nice, not too strong perfume smell. Smells kinda young and sweet, natural. Staying power is quite good, not that strong, but at least you still remember that you're wearing perfume. Oh, and a lovely bottle. The flowers are beautiful! Definitely would buy again.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner Ivy Shimmer
starzi 9/8/2008 4:15:00 AM
A really good eyeliner. Does flake and smudge a little, but that doesn't really matter. Quite waterproof. Lovely colour, that's what I really like about it. In dark places, it's kinda like black, but not as dark; but when you're in the sunlight, or lighter places, you can really tell the difference. It's a really nice green colour, not too obvious though, but just enough to tell people that you're not wearing a black eyeliner. I also have the black one, and that's a really good one too.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink
starzi 9/6/2008 4:08:00 AM
Fantastic eyeliner! I used to have a violet ink, but then the brush got really hard, and so did the liner (i think, i can't remember - it was quite a long time ago), so I gave it to someone else. However, suddenly I wanted to buy black ink, coz... well, i dunno, but I just wanted it, so I went and got it. And I do not regret it! The saleslady told me that the brush went hard coz I didn't wash it everytime I finished using it, and the gel liner got hard coz it was exposed to air too much, she told that when I'm applying the liner, turn the gel pot upside down, so there's a temporary cover to avoid too much air getting in. I really can't believe that the gel liner is sooooooo smooth, I use it on my bottom line, it smudges and flakes a teeny bit, but I don't really mind that. I've tried some black eyeliners before, but they all seem to smudge. But not this one! Well, at least not too much. However, it doesn't work on the waterline, but I don't really mind. I have hooded eyes, showing just a bit of the top lashline; I used some of BB's gel liner on it and on the bottom line, and instantly, my eyes look bigger!!! I'm lovin' this sooooo much! I recently bought another one, ivy shimmer ink, which I haven't used yet, but looks like a really nice colour. Will write a review on it soon. Btw, I didn't get the BB ultra fine eyeliner brush, coz it's too expensive, and I think I would need to get a new one every few months (maybe), so I just got some cheaper ones at the drugstore. It works perfectly fine with the liner. I used to love using Chanel's stylo yeux waterproof marine, but this totally beat it; I will only use that liner when I'm in a rush. xxx

Loose Powders -Yves Saint Laurent - Poudre Sur Mesure
starzi 8/5/2008 2:40:00 PM
I bought this in #2 if I'm correct, can't really remember, but this is a quite good loose powder. But I live in Hong Kong, and the temperature can go up to 33C, so it is virtually impossible not to do any touch ups, but now I'm in England, and the temperature is only around 20C, and really, I don't need any touch ups at all! I can't believe that! I mean, there is a little oil, but I can use oil blotting paper for that, but not so much oil like in Hong Kong, that I need to reapply again! The design is quite special too, but I keep on wondering, what would happen when there's only a little bit left, but that will be ages, so no worries. The teeny problem I have with it is that right after applying, it can look quite fake, but maybe all loose powders are like that. The brush works really well with it, making feel really smooth on your face. Overall, this is a really good loose powder, although pricey, yet definitely worth the price.

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]
starzi 7/30/2008 3:08:00 AM
A really fantastic mascara base that is actually able to hold the curl! I am really pleased with this mascara base, because it can do what I've always wanted a mascara base to do - HOLD THE CURL! It also volumizes your eyelashes. But my eyelashes do droop a tiny bit, but it is way better than not using the base at all, because without it, my lashes droop down totally. The volumizing part is great, coz most of the time, even after using mascara, I don't really notice my eyelashes. :P Sad, I know. But I am really glad that I bought this mascara base. :) I don't think the price is expensive at all, coz I bought this for HK$160, but a Diorshow mascara would have cost HK$220!
