Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15
starsgoblue 7/15/2008 3:51:00 PM
This product was a last resort for me. After trying other stable facial sunscreens with higher SPF, I had horribly clogged pores and irritated skin. I decided to sacrifice some protection in order to find something I could use consistently. I was afraid that this would be too heavy for my skin, but it's actually perfect! It moisturizes without making my makeup slide off, and it's extra gentle on my sensitive, sometimes flaky skin (due to acne treatment). I'm a happy customer!

Just wanted to add my glowing review of this wonderful product! It is smooth, easily absorbed, and doesn't interfere with my makeup or my life (well, except for the occasional bleached towel). I love the texture, lack of fragrance, and extra large sizes. I would highly recommend this to anyone suffering from acne. My husband and I both use it and have seen amazing results! Given time, I am confident that most people will see improvement. The trick for me is that I have to use it consistently, even when I'm clear, or I will break out again. However, I don't have to use the huge amounts recommended on acne.org in order to stay clear. A small price to pay for clear skin! Note: I have also started using the AHA sold on the website and I'm thrilled with it! After only two applications, I'm seeing some reduction in redness and some post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Lippin' Large Lip Plumper- Plum Tart
starsgoblue 7/15/2008 3:38:00 PM
This review is for the "Very Clear" version. I bought this hoping for a nice, long-wearing clear gloss with a bit of plumping effect (I wouldn't expect dramatic results from NYC). I'm very impressed! The gloss isn't as sticky as their Kiss Gloss, but it's still long-lasting and super-shiny. There is a cool minty tingle (not a burn) and pleasant taste, and my lips are slightly plumper. Of course it would be nice if the effect were more pronounced, but this is definitely an upgrade from a plain clear gloss.

Cleansers -Acne.org - Cleanser
starsgoblue 7/14/2008 6:22:00 PM
This is the best gentle cleanser I've come across. It removes my makeup effectively, and leaves my skin feeling perfectly balanced (not tight or filmy). The texture is much more appealing that that of Cetaphil or SpectroJel. I love that it's simple--no fragrance or trendy ingredients.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Superstay lipcolor
starsgoblue 6/19/2008 12:20:00 PM
I was very unsure of this product the first time I used it. I looked nice at first but started flaking off horribly. I thought that it may have been the colour, Sand. When I needed a long-wear red lipstick, I bought the same product in Wine after reading rave reviews. After a careful application (one lip at a time, not letting lips touch each other while drying), blotting, and a swipe of clear gloss (not the balm) on top, the colour lasted through my entire graduation day. I love that I can blot it down to a subtle stain, wear it as a bright red, or add an extra coat for a deep, sexy red. Since I had so much success with Wine, I tried the Sand again, but being much more careful in the application. It, too, lasts beautifully under the balm or under any gloss. Since it is such a light, shimmery colour, I think I put too much on when I first tried it. It's so wonderful not having to worry about touch-ups!

Liquid -Rimmel - Renew & Lift
starsgoblue 6/19/2008 11:51:00 AM
Depressed by the now sky-high price of my beloved Revlon Colorstay, I decided to try something new. I'm so glad I did! Renew & Lift, while it has a bit less coverage, gives me the flawless look I love at a lower price. The finish is somewhat dewy without being shiny (and is easily powdered down to a matte finish). I love the pump bottle and the scent.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Hi-Light Styliste
starsgoblue 6/19/2008 11:05:00 AM
I bought this in Toasted Almond, hoping to break up my medium brown colour with subtle highlights. I'm very happy with the results, but I can't give this product an excellent rating because they were achieved after MUCH difficulty! I applied the product according to the instructions after watching the tutorials on L'Oreal's website (I found these helpful, by the way). I chose about 10 thin strands in each layer of hair to highlight, applying with the brush and then smoothing with my fingers as directed. I waited the full 30 minutes, shampooed, conditioned, and dried my hair. Nothing had changed! Not a single strand was lightened. Feeling brave and determined not to let my 15$ go to waste, I reapplied only to the top and face-framing layers of my hair. Again, I waited 30 minutes. I was left with warm honey-blonde streaks (which is fine, as my hair has red undertones and I wasn't looking for a cool blonde). The second time, I chose larger strands of hair to highlight, but I didn't apply the product any differently. I'm not sure why it didn't work the first time! Overall, I'm pleased. No orange, no bleeding/smudging near the roots, and minimal damage. As a beginner, I feared the worst! I just wouldn't have the courage to try this again, as the results were unpredictable. Blush -Jane - Blushing Petal [DISCONTINUED]

This really is a gorgeous blush. It manages to make me look glowy without any shimmer. There's a surprising amount of pigment, too, which makes it easy to build from a sheer look to a stronger one. On my pale, slightly yellow-toned skin, there is a perfect balance between peach and pink tones. Very pretty and versatile!

This is a beautiful trio. Silky, highly pigmented and shimmery. I especially like it on green and blue eyes. A great, versatile bargain!

Lips -Cover Girl - TruShine Lipstick [DISCONTINUED]

I'd been having a horrible time trying to find a lipstick to wear to my wedding, but today I picked up the CG l/s in "Blushberry shine". It adds just enough pretty colour and shine to define my lips, and doesn't feel like it's sliding off. Perfect rosy MLBB colour against my PPP yellow-toned skin.
