Primer/ Corrector -Philosophy - The Present Clear Makeup
starrydreams 6/12/2008 9:40:00 AM
Ok, this was a complete baloney of a product! This is not a "present" I want to be receiving any time soon. It did nothing, absolutely nothing it "claimed" to do. "Do you crave airbrushed skin?," it says. A resounding yes! However, you are not going to get it with this product. "Do your wrinkles and pores deserve to be minimized?" Yes again! Everyone's does. Is this going to do it? Sorry to say, but no. I get extremely oily throughout the day, and I was hoping for something to help that. Did this help? I don't think so. "Are you searching for a new foundation?," it says. Are you kidding me? If you can wear this as a foundation by itself then you have to have completely perfect skin, and you know what, if you do I don't really want to talk to you then. (He He, just kidding.) :)* The only "present" this left me with was half a tube full of junk that I completely wasted my money on. Don't you hate that? Maybe I can actually find a product that promises to do what it is supposed to do next time.

Skincare - Face -MD Forte - Glycare Cleansing Gel for Oily Skin
starrydreams 6/12/2008 8:56:00 AM
I did so much research before I bought this because I was desperate to find something to help my oily/acne prone skin. I bought this in conjunction with the Glycare Perfection Gel because they both had a lot of positive reviews. Well, let's just say I am more than disappointed, and they were both a total waste of money. I stuck with them for quite a few months and they made no difference in my skin. :( I had such high hopes too. I am 22, almost 23 and I still have really bad acne. Shouldn't this have stopped a long time ago?? The weird thing is it has actually gotten worse with age. Oh well, my search for something that will help my annoying and problematic skin continues! (Keep your fingers crossed for me.) :)

Treatments -Olay - Total Effects 7x with VitaNiacin
starrydreams 11/17/2007 3:37:00 PM
With this product you definitely get a bang for your buck. This is one great moisturizer. When I smooth this across my face, it feels like soft velvet. This moisturizer is rich, creamy, and when my face is dry it hydrates like no other. These days I haven't been using it regularly on my face because I have been using acne products from my derm. However, sometimes those acne products seriously cause me to peel, and this product saves my ravaged face. I love how there is all of these vitamins and minerals in this cream as well. When I use this, I feel like a am using one of the most expensive creams you can buy. And yet it is such a great deal. I love you Olay!

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer SPF 30 - Sensitive Skin
starrydreams 11/17/2007 3:13:00 PM
I am really surprised that there is not a higher rating for this product. This is absolutely my HG sunscreen/moisturizer! Do you know how long I have been searching for a good sunscreen?? I had pretty much given up on the hope that I could find both a sunscreen and a moisturizer in one. I was so sick of having to slab on so many products onto my face in the morning. Most sunscreens are so oily, and my face is an oil slick to begin with. But this beauty of a product is light and leaves my face shine free. It gives a great base for makeup, and it doesn't make me really oily throughout the day like other sunscreens have. Plus my dermatologist recommended that I only use Olay or Neutrogena products. So, this is fully approved. It has a very nice pump bottle, so it is sanitary. It is cute, and you really can not beat the price. Believe me, I have tried sooo many sunscreens out there. And this one is absolutely wonderful! My search is finally over. (In one area at least.) :)

Treatments -StriVectin - SD by Klein-Becker
starrydreams 10/20/2007 3:32:00 PM
I have been using this product for over a year and a half and I have seen no change in the appearance of my wrinkles whatsoever. In fact, my wrinkles have gotten EVEN WORSE! What is with that? This is so freaking expensive, it should at least keep my wrinkles at bay, but definitely not let them get worse. And I am in my early twenties. :( I also have dark under eye circles and it has done absolutely nothing for them. Ugh! What a bunch of hype for an utter waste of a product.

Blush -Cover Girl - Instant Cheekbones Blush
starrydreams 7/19/2007 11:04:00 PM
I have this blush in both Sophisticated Sable and Refined Rose. They are both very nice colors, however for my skin tone, the Sophisticated Sable suits me a little better. I love how this blush comes in a deep, medium, and light shade all meant for contouring and highlighting your cheeks. It is really handy to have all three colors right there in one, and it really helps to define your cheekbones. I used to use the darker color more, however I started using bronzer more instead because I think it looks more natural. The bronzer blends perfectly with these blushes, so it looks really nice. Although the darker color it comes with looks nice too, it just depends on your preference. The highlighter is perfect to bring a healthy glow to your cheeks, and you can use it to highlight other areas of your face as well. These both have lasted me quite a long time as well. The brush it comes with is terrible, but those brushes usually are. You can't expect much different. Overall, great product.

Powder -Prescriptives - AnyWear Multi-finish compact foundation
starrydreams 7/19/2007 10:36:00 PM
I bought this based on some suggestions I got on here and based on the great reviews. Unfortunately, I have to say I hated it. First of all, the packaging is really poor. The sales lady accidentally dropped it when I bought it and you could tell she was praying it didn't break, and when she looked to see if it did break she looked shocked and sighed with relief that it hadn't. Second, this looked completely unnatural on my skin. The first time I applied it, I had to completely wash my face and start over because it looked so blotchy and uneven. ( Let's just say I am no beginner at applying makeup, and I thought there is no way I can walk out of the house looking like this.) The first time my boyfriend saw me wearing it he immediately asked me if I had switched foundations, (That is pretty bad if a GUY notices something like that, you know how oblivious they are) and he said that he thought it looked really unnatural and he could totally tell I was wearing it. Not exactly something a girl wants to hear. You want the complete opposite with your foundation. Another problem is that this has no staying power. Not even halfway through the day my face looked like an oil slick, (and this was with wearing a oil mattifying lotion under it which usually helps). The makeup started to look blotchy, uneven, and almost looked as though it was another layer on top of my face. It looked like you could take a knife and just scrape it off. I think it is because it never really melted in to my skin to begin with. It just looked gross. Applying more didn't help the problem, as you can imagine, it just made it look more cakey. Oh, and another thing, this made my skin really itchy when I wore it. I felt like I was allergic to it or something. Ok, lastly, this has barely any makeup in the pan! I only wore this a few times, (obviously because I was having such a bad experience with it), and you could already start to see the bottom of the pan. What if I had actually liked it? I would have gone through this in no time! (Sigh.) Well, I really don't think there is much more I can say. I think I listed probably every bad thing that you could about a product. : ( I unfortunately just had no luck with this one. Obviously it works for some people, I just don't know why I had such a bad experience with it. To each his (her) own.

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Non-Oily Eye Makeup Remover Pads
starrydreams 7/19/2007 9:20:00 PM
Alright, so I usually get the moisturizing version of this. But, for some reason, I just had to try these. I guess it was because they get way better reviews than the moisturizing ones. Which I cannot fathom why, because I hated these. Ugh, they are horrible. Just the smell of them made me nauseated. They smell ridiculously strong of alcohol, and low and behold in the ingredients is benzyl alcohol. Somehow I just don't think it is a good idea to be putting any type of alcohol anywhere near, not to mention on your eyes. It seems like it would be very drying to me. Anyways, once I bought them I tried them on my eyes and it was sooo hard to get my eye makeup off. I felt like I really had to pull and tug at the eye area for it to be removed, plus it stung really bad. (From the alcohol I am assuming.) With the other version of these my makeup comes off effortlessly, and it leaves behind just enough moisture to nourish the skin. They are so much better that these are. Needless to say, these are going back to the store to be returned asap.

Foundations -Reflect.com - Customized Powder Foundation
starrydreams 5/6/2007 10:55:00 AM
I am absolutely, unequivocally shocked that the reviews are so low!! This is my HG foundation! Reflect has now closed their company, and I literally went into a depression when they did. Let me tell you about this foundation. I have been suffering with severe acne for a very, very long time. To long to remember. But when I wear this, no one, and I mean no one could tell! I would get freaking compliments all of the time on how beautiful my skin was. Now that is what foundation is supposed to do for your skin. It would go on like smooth porcelain and it would make my skin look flawless. I cannot find anything that compares! Sigh. How could they do this to me? It is not fair! I bought like a million compacts since they were no longer in business and I tried to make them last as long as possible. But alas, I just ran out of my last one, and I am now on the endless search to find something that compares. And will I, now that is the question. I am thinking probably not, but I am trying to have hope. Oh, and what is better that customizing your own makeup? The packaging and quality were outstanding. They always got the colors just right, and their customer service was impeccable. One time I accidentally got put on their reordering list, and they sent, and charged me for a few months worth of products. Get this, instead of having me send them back and refunding it all, they just refunded my money and let me keep all of the products for free!! And with every order they gave you a HUGE gift. And with every amount of money you spent you could sign up to earn free beauty dollars that you could use that work like cash and you can use towards any order. Alright, I sould like I worked for the company or something - which I didn't by the way. I am just obviously sad, (maybe too sad) that they are gone. Anyways, this was an awesome foundation. And I will probably never find one like it.

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Pads
starrydreams 5/6/2007 10:25:00 AM
I cannot believe all of the bad reviews on here. If I run out of these I am miserable until I get some more. So.. yes, these are oily, but it is not that bad! And they obviously have a less oily version if you hate it that much. I personally like the oil because I think it helps moisturize the delicate skin around my eyes. Plus, if you wash your face afterwards, most of it is gone anyways. It leaves just enough left to nourish your skin. There are a ton of pads in each one, so it lasts me quite awhile, and you can use both sides of the pad. The only down side is that sometimes I have to use a few to get off all of my makeup if I am wearing a lot of it, but like I said there are a lot of them so it is ok. Sometimes I wake up with a little black under my eyes, but it is rare and when I have been wearing a lot of makeup. I have tried other eye makeup removers, and these are definitely the best. You should definitely give them a try.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Expansion [DISCONTINUED]
starrydreams 5/6/2007 9:59:00 AM
I love this mascara. I tend to be very picky about mascara's, but this one passes the test. I have tried many different one's out there, but I always end up coming back to this one. This does not get clumpy at all, and it really separates all of my lashes well. I don't believe that you need to buy high end mascara to get good quality. I think there are good mascara's in the the drugstore, you just have to find the right one's. Definite A++.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
starrydreams 4/1/2007 11:41:00 AM
This product is absolutely great at removing makeup. I feel confident that after I use it there is no makeup left on my face. And I tend to wear more makeup than others. With other cleansers, I will use a toner afterwards and there is still residue left on the cotton ball, but this gets everything off! I love how it gets really nice and foamy too. My boyfriend uses this as his face wash as well. I would think this would be great if you have sensitive skin because it is really nice and gentle. I haven't been using it for a little while because I have been getting really bad acne and I needed something a little more heavy duty, however I might come back to it because what I am using now isn't working anyways. And hey, you can't beat the price!

Styling Products -Pantene - Curl Defining Scrunching Mousse
starrydreams 1/10/2007 9:44:00 PM
Well, I didn't like this one. It really did nothing to add curl to my hair and I found it to be really sticky. Also, you have to be careful not to use too much or your hair will get crispy. I really like some of Pantene's other product's, however I am considering not using them anymore because I just found out they test on animals. :(

Palettes -Sonia Kashuk - Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette
starrydreams 6/20/2006 1:58:00 AM
I have been looking for a good concealer for a very long time. And let me tell you ladies, this has everything covered! Like the review before this says- there is a greenish concealer which I use for reddish scars and acne. A lighter concealer for under the eyes and sometimes over the green concealer to help blend into the skin. A darker concealer, (depending on your skin tone), which sometimes I use it to shade areas such as the sides of my nose, etc. And there is a light powder to help hold it all into place. Which I love because whenever I would put on concealer under my eyes I was always trying to find the right powder to help set it and it was so hard to find the right color. This one matches perfectly! This is such a great deal, for the price, all four palettes, and it even comes in a really nice little compact. It has two brushes which make the application really easy as well. I can totally see this in a high end store for way more money. I definitely recommend this!

Treatments -Nelson's Homeopathic Products - Acne Gel
starrydreams 6/20/2006 1:04:00 AM
I heard a lot of great reviews about this, so I had to try it. My skin has been pimple city lately, and I bought this right before a trip hoping it would help nullify the problem. However, I am sorry to say I am extremely disappointed. I have been using this for about a month, and it has done absolutely nothing to help the problem. I loved the fact is was all natural, but obviously it is not strong enough to help with my problem skin.
