The first time I smelled this perfume was at a friend's house when I was younger and we were going to a club. Then I encountered it again in the club's bathroom, where you can use perfumes before heading back out. In both of these instances my sister-in-law was also out with us. And then shortly thereafter, wouldn't you know it, I smelled it on her. Turns out that she and her sister went out and both purchased this. She liked the fact that it's popular and a famous brand. I never purchased it myself because it's expensive and I couldn't justify this expense to myself, given how many perfumes I already have laying around. And I just didn't want to smell exactly like all of these other people around me, because I have now associated this perfume with these people who always wore it before me. The mind associates smells with certain people and places and events, and I'm not sure if I want to be reminded of my younger clubbing days every single day that I would put this on. Those were such fun days, but it was a different chapter in my life and I don't know if I want to smell that every day when I would use this and to smell just like everyone else around me. I love this perfume and every time I go to a department store I spray some on myself and enjoy its smell for the rest of the day. I do have gift card accumulated, so perhaps I will purchase this on my birthday eventually. Time will tell. But if everyone around me wasn't wearing it, then I'm sure I would have purchased it long ago. It would just be silly for everyone to smell identical.

Scrubs -Alba Botanica - Pineapple Enzyme Facial Scrub

I like this scrub a lot. It smells wonderful. It feels so good to apply this to the face that I just wanted to continue scrubbing nonstop. In the past I had used the St. Ives apricot scrub, and it's just way too rough and the granules in that are too huge. Whereas in this scrub the particles are fine and gentle, and it make it feel as if they are small enough to penetrate the pores.

Shave Products -Trader Joe's - Honey Mango Shave

Oh my gosh! Wow! Thank god I saw the reviews and decided to try it. I had very low expectations, but boy was I surprised. I went out and bought three more tubes today. I had always used shaving gels which lather up. Knowing that this one does not was the reason for my initial low expectations. I thought I needed that lathering in order to shave. I was proven wrong. This shave lotion contains a number of moisturizing ingredients, and I don't even feel the need to use a moisturizer after shaving, whereas in the past I had to put something after the shower, otherwise I was itchy and uncomfortable after shaving. Somehow in the mere seconds that I put it on, it makes the hairs perfectly prepared for shaving. I get the closest shave I had ever been able to get. My legs look as if I had gone for a waxing. In the past I always saw hairs left over, but after this gel there's not a single hair left. I don't even see a single hair follicle on my legs after shaving, as if they've been airbrushed. I'm able to shave hairs which I had never ever been able to shave off. It's the closest, the smoothest shave I've ever gotten. And it feels good on, and smells so nice, too. So, the gist is that it smells good, moisturizes, and gives the closest shave ever. And I believe that I can go longer between shaves, too. As a side note, I also picked up an spf at Trader Joe's previously and it's the only one that does not break me out in cysts a few hours afterward. And today when I was stocking up on this shave lotion, I also picked up their deodorant, because it stated that it soaks up moisture, and I'm now more likely to believe Trader Joe's claims because of how well it has lived up to them with their shave lotion. So today I had three of these shaving lotions and also a bouquet of roses in my cart (for a birthday I was to attend later.... they are the only store that sells roses for only $5; I'll be buying flowers there from now on), and the lady at the register looked at my products and got some wrong idea, because she exclaimed: "oooh, shaving lotions and roses, oh my!" She must have thought I was preparing for a romantic evening with so many shaving lotions and roses on the side. :)

Mascara -Dr. Hauschka - VOLUME mascara!
rated 4 of 5
starnet 2/14/2013 1:28:00 PM

I started using this mascara when I noticed that my previously beautiful lashes had become thin and almost invisible. I didn't want to damage them further with harsh chemicals from other mascaras, which may or may not have caused or contributed to my lashes' demise. I wear this daily. It has a rose scent, witch I personally like. It looks beautiful on. I've noticed that it does smudge, so watch out for that. The mascara is pretty expensive, but it lasts a very long time. This is the only natural mascara I've used, so I can't compare it to others. But I do like it a lot.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
starnet 2/12/2013 5:26:00 AM

The coverage is excellent. I have acne-prone, oily skin with hyperpigmentation. Coverage is similar to the full coverage you get with Estee Lauder double wear. In the studio fix powder foundation I wear NC15. But in the liquids, they run darker, so I was actually matched with NW15. (But I have yet to find a concealer light enough to use with these light tones in foundation.) I was told that it works well with overly oily skin. It doesn't control oil production, but it makes the foundation stay on a long time despite it. I've only used it a few times and it covers extremely well. But I do worry about its acne-aggravating reputation. So if this will be the case in my case, then I'll have to quit, which will be unfortunate, because I'm finding it impossible to find good-coverage without side-effects.

Cleansers -Acure Organics - Facial Cleanser Cleansing Gel
rated 5 of 5
starnet 2/12/2013 5:16:00 AM

I use this at night to remove my makeup. I have bad skin which I cover daily with heavy foundation, concealer, powder (and then use blush, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow). This gentle, foaming, nice-smelling cleanser removes all of these layers of makeup in one quick and easy washing. I don't use a washcloth or anything else. I just water my face, and then leather this in my hands, and apply to face with my hands, and then wash off with water. And the tube lasts a long time.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Even Finish Foundation Spf 15
rated 1 of 5
starnet 2/12/2013 5:10:00 AM

I got a sample of this, and after trying it on, had to wash my face immediately. Very disturbing consistency. Gooey, gluey, plain strange. Doesn't dry up and melt into the skin. I asked the salesperson for the lightest shade, but she claimed to know me better and gave me a sample of a 4th away from the lightest shade. It didn't matter anyway, because it's unwearable.

Polishes -Essie - Eternal Optimist #676
rated 4 of 5
starnet 11/17/2012 2:58:00 AM

This is a beautiful color. I tried it in the store and just had to have it. It's subtle and feminine. It reminds me of the nude colors that are popular in MAC lipsticks. It's great for when I don't want any bold bright colors, but also don't want my nails to be without any nail polish at all. I got tired of very bright colors and wanted something subdued. It's very flattering to skin tones. I can't seem to be able to do a second coat with Essie polishes. They just get too thick and never fully dry and just rub off. So I just do one coat and cover with a top coat.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
rated 4 of 5
starnet 11/17/2012 2:52:00 AM

This covers imperfections, evens out skin tone, provides spf. The only problem with it is that it's way too oily for my already-oily skin. So I cannot wear this as regular makeup because it becomes too greasy and therefore I can't use it with any other products on my face. (I cannot use this as a regular foundation and layer anything over it like concealer or powder.) I only wear this when I need to run out to get something, but don't want to do full makeup and don't want to be barefaced due to my acne and discolorations. It looks nice when on, as if one's real skin, while covering flaws.

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - La Roche-Posay Anthelios 45 Face Ultra Light Suncreen Fluid
rated 2 of 5
starnet 11/6/2012 6:55:00 PM

very oily, greasy, sits on top of the skin without ever getting absorbed. I wore it on a hot humid day, and I've never experienced such greasiness. I had to wipe it off.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole ULTRA [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
starnet 11/6/2012 6:03:00 PM

I love the way it feels on the skin, I love the way it glides on. But it doesn't cover well. If you have good skin, then this will look lovely on you. But if you have blemishes or hyper-pigmentation, then it won't cover them very well, no matter how much you try to layer it on.

Sunscreen -Coppertone - Coppertone Sensitive Skin Suncreen Lotion, SPF 50 6 fl oz
rated 1 of 5
starnet 7/30/2012 3:24:00 AM

Oh my goodness. This broke out my entire face after just one day of use. I had guests visiting, and I had to spend the entire weekend trying to hide my broken-out face behind my hair or hats. Very embarrassing and awkward. Now I will spend a lot of time trying to reverse the damage. Most sunscreens break me out with at least one whitehead, but this was an entire face. Be careful if you have acne-prone, oily skin.

Powder -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup
rated 3 of 5
starnet 3/12/2011 8:16:00 PM

I've been using the Double Wear liquid foundation for about a year and I loved the good coverage, but it feels too heavy. A few days ago I was at an outlet store and saw this powder foundation. I bought it on a whim because it was cheaper than the department store price, and it was the exact color as my liquid foundation. The coverage is very good. I like the velvety feel of it. I've never used it wet; only used it with a dry sponge. It events out my skin tone and hides discolorations. So I love that. But unfortunately it looks very shiny almost immediately. I have very oily skin to begin with, so the additional shiny look doesn't help. If it wasn't for that, I would love the coverage and the even tone that it gives. I think it would be perfect for someone with drier or normal skin.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
rated 4 of 5
starnet 3/12/2011 7:54:00 PM

I received this as a gift with purchase. This mascara makes my eyelashes look huge. People compliment me every time that I have it on. I use it in 01 Black. I can only wear it on special occasions because it makes the eyelashes look dramatic. If you want a cheaper alternative, L'Oreal Voluminous Original in blackest black can sometimes be found at Target for $5.
