BB Cream -Lioele - Triple Solution BB cream

Initially i really liked this bb cream coz it has high coverage. it really covers redness, blemishes and dark circles. but after using a few months, i realised that it emphasizes dry spots. and it's really thick, you can definitely feel it on your skin. it's quite difficult to blend. you literally have to drag it across the skin. oil control is good though. i would say buy it if you need coverage.

Loose Powders -NARS - Loose Powder

not HG for me. just an ok powder. oil control is fairly good. has a little bit of coverage and gives your face a natural look(i use a brush, not sure about the puff). color choices are adequate, i have it in Flesh(I'm an NC20), would have prefer something a little yellower though, was afraid that Eden was too yellow for me. Best thing is you get so much more product for the same price compared to other LP of the same amount. one tub can last you at least 6months, or if you use it sparingly, maybe even a year! however, packaging is the worst. it's so hard to keep the powder inside the container!! overall i think i prefer Becca's LP. going to try T Leclerc next.

Treatments (Eye) -Sisley - Sisleya Eye and Lip Contour Cream

I find this eye cream too oily for me, quite hard to absorb into the skin. doesn't really help in dark circles and puffiness, just moisturizing to the eye area. Will not buy again.

Powder -Chanel - Vitalumiere Eclat de Chanel Compact Makeup

This is suitable for normal to dry skin. If u get oily real quick, this is not for you. It fades fast, and by mid day, my face is really shiny. It only works for me if I put something underneath, like an oil controlling liquid foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturizer. Coverage is sheer if u use the brush, but using the sponge it's buildable to medium at most. Love the color selections though, for reference I'm a mac NC20, and use B10. I would say give it try if u do not have oily skin and looking for a light coverage natural looking foundation.

Powder -Make Up For Ever - Duo Mat Powder foundation

this has no oil control at all! by noon my t-zone and upper cheeks area are extremely shiny. not enough coverage for me, and it goes on a little cakey. good color choices though, 202 is almost a spot on for me. clever packaging.

Powder -Shu Uemura - Face Architect Glow Enhancing Powder Foundation SPF26

Oily ladies stay away from this. This makes me glow alright, not exactly oily, but has that weird shine to the whole face. Packaging sucks, why would I want to buy te compact and powder separately? Luckily I only bought the powder. Coverage is light, at best medium. Only good thing is that it will not make u look cakey, even if u apply too much.

Hard to find a color match. SA recommended me 40 sable but it was too yellow. 10 was too light 60 was too yellow. Should have bought 50 maybe? But the SA said all the other shades are pink toned. I'm asian, fair-light with slight yellow undertone. Seems like none of the shades suit me. Oil control wise just average. Will not make u oily but will not make u look too matte. But sometimes if u do not apply it properly, it will look a bit cakey. And 1 thing I hate about this is that it transfers like crazy. I put a little on my neck and my collar shirt is stained! Oh did mention theres a comedongenic ingredient in it too? Although it didn't break me out, but might not be suitable for acne prone ppl.

Tinted Moisturizer -Tarte - Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Mosturizer (Smooth Operator)

Well, the only good thing about this is the coverage. One of the highest coverage TM around I think. But, people with dry skin beware! It's so difficult to spread!, u have to have a very good moisturizer under this so that it can blend properly. And regarding the sparkles that a lot of people are talking about, yes, it has a lot of sparkles! Although it is not noticeable unless u really look up close, I still don't like sparkles in my makeup. If u really want to try this, buy it a shade lighter that u would normally do, coz it oxidizes badly.

This concealer is very moisturizing. Hard to find a concealer that is as moisturizing as this, especially since its in a cream pot form. Most concealers of this type are thick and cakey. However if you have really dark circles, this will not cover a lot, but defintely brightens the eye area. Plus it's very cheap, SGD $18 bought it from eBay. Color wise, I'm on the fair side, so I chose #1. not a perfect match, but definitely workable. Love the texture!, really easy to blend. Just wished it could cover a bit more.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer
stargal33 7/8/2011 8:17:00 AM
i'm using the TM from the same line. and i bought the primer thinking that it will help in some way. unfortunately it did not. firstly, it did not help TM stay on longer, secondly it did nothing to control oil, in fact it made me even more oily!! my nose was so shiny when i use this. thirdly, it stings like helllll when i apply it around the eye area!!(& i only put a little) plus it did not help diminish fine lines or make the make-up look better in any way. Don't ever waste your money this.

Loose Powders -Becca - Fine Loose Finishing Powder
stargal33 6/17/2011 1:25:00 PM
got this after reading the raves here. it's really different from other powders as it gives a very natural dewy look, which is very hard to acheive if you use powder. the packaging however, is horrible. i didn't even open all the sifter holes, only half, but powder still flies all over the place. don't ever bring this around, coz the last time i did, i opened it when i got back home, and powder was everywhere! not good. color selection is acceptable, suit most tones. Have it in Sesame, good color match for me! it's one of the good powders that i have. expensive but worth it!

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder

can't believe a drugstore product can deliver so much better than those high end brands. seriously, this powder gives me a really natural, dewy look, doesn't look like you have powder on. you know how a lot of other powders will look cakey and empahsizes fine lines & wrinkles. it doesn't give a lot of coverage, just enough to set ur makeup, makes your skin look flawless. and it's so cheap! Impressed! of course there are cons as well. had to mix Light (4-5) and Medium (0-1) to get the perfect color match. and it does not really control oil that well, t-zone ended up oily after a few hours. still can't find a product which can solve this problem though. also could not get this product in my country Singapore(it's available in only US,UK & Australia i think), had to order online. BUT, i'm still satisfied. Will purchase again!

Concealers -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer
stargal33 3/30/2011 11:50:00 AM
have been using this for over a year. it's not HG material but the best i've used so far. Pros: - Hydrating - Still settles into fine lines but significantly lesser than a lot of other concealers - Good Packaging (not those wand or click type) - looks natural (not obvious that you put concealer) Cons - Light coverage. those with very dark circles, this will not cover. my dark circles are quite bad, this covers about 50%-60% i guess. But it definitely brightens up the eye area - Expensive - The colour choices sucks!! like 3 shades only? shade 1 is too light, shade 2 is too dark for me. still can work with 1 though. Still looking for my HG. ARGH!!! this is so fustrating.

Concealers -TheBalm - Time Balm

Don't understand the raves about this here. Does nothing for me. It looks pigmented does not cover my very dark circles. Does not even brighten the area. Bought the shade Light, a little too dark for me. But dare not try lighter than light, Coz it looks white when I applied it on my hand. And so the search for HG concealer continues.
