Treatments (Eye) -Olay - Age Defying Instant Hydration Eye Cream
rated 3 of 5

Inexpensive. Fragrance-free. Lightweight. Been using this eye cream for 2 months to soothe eye area dryness due to Spring Allergies. I apply this cream right after cleansing before any moisturizer/or AHA cream. While I have not noticed any radical improvement, except for a softer and less crepey under eye area, I have not experienced any allergic reaction or stinging. I do not use concealers so I can't say how well or bad it works under concealer.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I suffer from dandruff build-up and after using this shampoo, I never had to use an anti-dandruff shampoo again. Fragrance Free so that's a billion beauty points in my book. I wish they don't discontinue.

Lipstick -Shiseido - Perfect Rouge Tender Sheer

Disappointing News: Shiseido is discontinuing the original sheer colors http://www.shiseido.com/Final-Call/discontinued,en_US,sc.html Sheer but buildable. Love the balmy yet long wearing feature of this lipstick. Non-drying, non-wrinkling and fragrance & taste free. Too bad Shiseido is discontinuing the original colors. I wish they keep Natural Red or Natural Wine. Or at least give a discount.

Brows -Maybelline - Define-A-Brow
rated 5 of 5

To everyone dismayed with Maybelline discontinuing Define-A-Brow in Dark Brown, please check out the Maybelline Line Stylist eyeliner http://bit.ly/LineStylist. I like my brow pencils waxy with sharp tips but hate sharpening the more traditional eye pencils where the pencil shortens overtime. While the retractable, sharpen free pencils are convenient, they get blunt tips. The Espresso shade is an exact dupe, without the joke comb. Apply with soft short strokes, it's like sketching in fine eyebrow hair. With it's fine tip, you can define a sharp tapered eyebrow tail. The packaging is similar to the more expensive Clinique Superfine Liner for Brows and Mac Eye Brows at 1/2 of the price. Caveat: It's 1/3 the quantity of Mac, 1/2 of Clinique. But, hey, if you're in a tight budget, this will do. I'm surprised that in the drugstore line of eye pencils, only Maybelline has this pencil in this packaging. The shade range in this line would be the darker spectrum for Define-A-Brow but they could expand the shade range to include a soft brown (Taupe Grey or Khaki Grey). But I'm happy just the same if they do not discontinue.

Cleansers -Simple - Cleansing Facial Wipes

Not Expensive, Fragrance Free, I think it removes sunscreen. I'm not so sure about full on make-up. It's abrasive though, but it doesn't sting, at least on my skin. I use Acne.Org BP and AHA.

Do not use if you are using BP, salicylic acid or glycolic acid/AHA or tretinion etc. anything that stimulates skin peeling. it STINGS. The fragrance was so strong, that alone made me decide to return it to the store.

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Perfect Blend Eye Pencil
rated 4 of 5

This is a review of the CHARCOAL color. I use this pencil for my brows. It's a good match to my asian sparse brow hair. It's not reddish or black. The color pay off is just the right intensity with out looking unnaturally penciled in. There's a little bit of metallic sheen (not shimmer) in it which I thought "highlights" the brows better than if it were a darker and matte shade. It glided smoothly on my brows and deposited color even with light feathered strokes.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner in BlackBrown
rated 3 of 5
starfishnet 8/21/2012 6:32:00 AM

Intense color, long wearing and priced right for a quality drugstore eyeliner. I use the BlackBrown on my brows and brush it with a spoolie to soften the intensity. The color has more brown than black as opposed to the colorstay eyebrow enhancer which I thought was a good blackened brown shade.

Concealers -Almay - smart shade
rated 1 of 5

This is a review of the plain version of the Smart Shade concealer (not the anti aging version). I used it as an under eye concealer. It actually emphasized the fine lines. The product disappeared and whatever was left, settled into the lines.

Lip Treatments -Blistex - Simple and Sensitive
rated 4 of 5
starfishnet 8/18/2012 2:28:00 AM

Fragrance-Free, Flavor-Free, Chemical Sunscreen-Free (plus points) with minimal ingredients. I lost my super favorite Clinique moisturizing superbalm and needed a cheap temporary fix. This one applies smooth and relieved my chapped lips. No itching, no hives and no white heads, so far. I just wish Blistex et al would transition to the more hygenic squeeze tube packaging.

Sunscreen -Banana Boat - Natural Reflect Baby

I broke into rashes after 1 week's use. It has the chemical sunscreen Ethylhexyl Methoxycrylene hiding in the list of ingredients. I'm now using Badger SPF 16 sunscreen with Aloe.

Foundations -Almay - Smart Shade Smart Shade Anti-aging SPF 20
rated 3 of 5
starfishnet 5/24/2012 5:01:00 AM

I am horribly sensitive and unpredictably break out prone. I bought this after reading the reviews here in MUA. I liked what I read and I liked the ingredients list. It contains a physical sunscreen and several peptides. I was hoping to use this to replace my Clinique City Block Sheer SPF 25, to even out my skin tone. I only used it once so I can't say for sure if it'll contribute to acne or sensitivity. It goes on an ashy color and transforms to nude to blend with your skin. It felt light and non-greasy. Fragrance-Free. However, I realized the Light/medium shade was darker (or tan-ner) than I thought. I also noticed the micro-shimmery aspect to it. I don't understand why companies are adding shimmer to all their products. NOT EVERYBODY wants shimmer all over their face. If I don't break out, I will continue to use.

Toners -Simple - Soothing Skin Toner
rated 4 of 5
starfishnet 5/20/2012 4:06:00 AM

I wanted so much to use the Shisiedo Eudermine softener but it's so pricey, so out of my budget range. Alcohol and fragrance free so that's a plus. Softens my skin, relieving me of the tightness that follows after cleansing. Did not cause any breakouts or comedones. I thought it was soothing, no burning after-feel. And I have sensitive skin bordering to unpredictably crazy. Helped with the stinging from BPs and AHAs. Wish they would have remove the parabens. But, so far, so good. Already on my second bottle. Will alternate with the Clinique MILD CL, when budget permits. Keep product in the fridge for a more refreshing feel.
