Shampoo -Rene Furterer - Naturia Dry Shampoo
stalbertsusie 10/22/2010 10:40:00 PM
This is my absolute go to fave. Hate the price. $28 a bottle makes me weep. Just found a cheaper alternative today. Batiste. If you love RF dry shampoo (and how can you not?) It is worth a try. BTW, have also tried many versions of other dry shampoos, so fancy myself a bit of an expert.

Shampoo -Batiste - Original Dry Shampoo
stalbertsusie 10/22/2010 10:36:00 PM
I love dry shampoo almost as much as I love mascara. I have tried many, many types. None can compare to Rene Ferterer. That said at $28 canadian a bottle, I long for a cheaper alternative. I tried Tres Semme's version and was deeply disappointed. I really didn't think I could find a cheap version of dry shampoo that I liked enough. Today, I was hopping at Winners (Canadian version of TJMaxx). I stumbled across a bottle of Batiste dry shampoo in blush for $6.99 a bottle. That is about the same price as tres Semme, so I was willing to give it a go. Worked great almost as good as my treasured Ferterer. I am going back tomorrow to clear them out of their stock. I am a happy girl!

Scrubs -Shiseido - Pureness Pore Purifying Warming Scrub

I really like this product. I don't know how much cleansing it does, but I use it twice a week after my regular cleanser. It does a nice job exfoliating my dry skin and leaves it feeling warm and smooth. It is gentle enough to use every day, but it seems to be enough just the two times a week.

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Intensive Lip Plumping Mask
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 3:45:00 PM
I have to admit this definitely made my lips plump and rosy. The problem is it doesn't last very long and is a ridiculous pain in the butt to put on. If it were something you could reapply, I would have kept it. It is like smearing toothpaste all over your lips then having to wait around for 15 minutes. Tastes yucky and chalky and you have to be extremely precise or you will look like your lips are chapped.

Mascara -Shu Uemura - Fiber Xtension [DISCONTINUED]
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 3:36:00 PM
Hands down my favorite mascara! I have long curly lashes already, but this makes them look miles long. Almost like fake lashes! It isn't very thick, but I am not into clumpy thick looking lashes anyway. I find that you can only put on one coat however, that is all I need.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost Lipstick in O
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 3:34:00 PM
I cannot live without this color. It has been my "go to" for years. I have tried every other color under the sun, but this is the best. If MAC ever discontinues it, I will lose my mind. It has a nice red undertone with a bronze/gold shimmer. I have very pale skin and it is not too bright, just perfect!

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals ALL
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 3:31:00 PM
I love this product. I got the kit from Sephora and am really impressed. I could skip the warmth and mineral veil is just okay, but I love the foundation. I can't believe how light it feels while giving such good coverage. The concealer brush works miracles, the other brushes are pretty crappy though. I also recommend not packing it in your suitcase. The powder all comes out of the bottom layer of the package and sits on top. It still works, but is pretty messy.

Cleansers -Bobbi Brown - Extra Balm Rinse
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 3:26:00 PM
The Bobbi Brown SA gave me a generous sample of this and I fell in love. It is outrageously priced, but last a really long time. I have dry skin that breaks out occasionally. The vaseline-like texture is definitely something to get used to. It smells nice and citrus like. I will continue to scrimp and save to buy this cleanser. Truly the best.

Bronzers -DuWop - Revolotion (Medium)
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 3:22:00 PM
It does give you nice color, but it ends up on everything! Your clothes, sheets etc. I am scared to wear it and go anywhere. Can you imagine leaving bronzer all over your friends couch? No thanks - I'll stick to being pastey white!

Toners -Shu Uemura - Depsea Moisture Replenishing Lotion
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 3:19:00 PM
I love this toner. I don't necessarily buy into Shu's depsea theory, but this is damn good toner and it smells great. I use it every day and would buy it again. Luckily it lasts a long time as it is pricey.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 3:02:00 PM
My absolute favorite blush. Just the right amount of natural color. I have pale skin and this works perfect for me. I only gave it four because it advertises itself as a lip stain as well and I do not like it for that. Be careful when traveling with it as it can be disastrous if the cap is not tight. That said, I have had mine forever and no signs of it running out soon, so the price is very relative.

Brows -Smashbox - Brow tech
stalbertsusie 8/28/2007 2:58:00 PM
This is my first time with a brow shadow. I have medium blonde hair with darker eyebrows. I bought the taupe, which seems a little dark. It does make my brows pop without being obnoxious. I LOVE the wax. I have long eyebrow hair and it helps to tame it. I now am able to trim without looking like I have bushy eyebrows. Love this product. My only complaint is that the wax gets kind of yucky with the powder in it. I am sure that can be avoided with proper cleansing of the brush.
