I got this as a sample and once it was done I bought the full size. I've tried Double Wear Light in the past and struggled with it because of the small shade range - I was always somewhere in between intensity two and three. I tried intensity two and it was too pink for me. This foundation is lovely though! I have it in intensity two and it gives me nice light coverage and the colour seems to fit well with my skin. I like that it's a squeeze tube as I have more control over what comes out. A little goes a long way with this so it will last me a long time. It doesn't oxidise or get patchy throughout the day. The finish is sliiiighty dewy but this can obviously be blotted away with powder. I think this would be good for someone with normal/slightly dry or combination skin looking for light coverage which will stay in place.

I saw so many rave reviews about this online that I decided to try it. However, my experience with this foundation didn't get off to a very good start. I bought the normal/oily skin formula as I have normal/combination skin. This was a big mistake as I find this formula far too drying! Then I also managed to choose the wrong shade - I hate the way Boots/Superdrug have such bright lights, they make the colours look all wrong! It was a bit too dark but it would probably match me now that I've seen the sun a little! I applied this with both my fingers and the ELF powder brush. I hated the effect. Even after spending ages blending, it just didn't look even and since it's got such good coverage, the uneven-ness was so obvious! I am not normally a fan of full coverage foundations so that's probably why I wasn't able to work with this. I also found that it oxidized quite a lot on my skin (it did stay on pretty well, I'll give it that!) making the fact it was a touch dark even more obvious! I seriously dislike foundations which don't have pumps so it loses marks for packaging with me. All in all, it's a huge thumbs down - I hate the formula, the finish, the oxidising and the packaging! I will definitely not be repurchasing!

Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15

I got this in the hope it would be nice for summer however I really don't like it. I know tinted moisturisers don't offer a lot of coverage but this one really is as it says, sheer! It had a nice cooling effect when I applied it but it basically went on like a layer of grease and sat on my skin. In the space of an hour or so it was a hot mess - all the colour seemed to just go to certain parts of my face. The packaging is nice, it feels sturdy and you can control how much product you get. The price was okay for me because I got it at a discounted price but I'd never pay full price for this! Personally I wouldn't buy this again. I'm not sure how much those with dry skin would like it either.

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Foundation

I bought this foundation in a shade which ended up being far too dark for me so I can't really comment on the shade range. I will hopefully pick up a lighter shade soon. I love how this applies and feels on the skin. I guess it would be too much for someone with quite oily skin but mine is more combination/normal so it suits me. I am a bit concerned that it made me break out but since the shade was wrong I stopped using it so can't be 100% sure. The packaging is good as it has a pump but sometimes it does feel a bit unsubstantial as it is plastic. However, it's at a reasonable price point so I can't complain! A lot of people have been comparing this to the new Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and have said you should try this before getting the Chanel. I can't say anything on that but just thought I'd mention it!

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation

I've been trying this for a while now and have quite mixed feelings about it. Firstly I think the colour is slightly wrong for me (I got it in a swap so can't complain since I didn't buy it) - the undertones are a bit too pink and I have more yellow undertones in my skin. I apply it with the ELF powder brush - it's very easy to apply too much of this though so be careful! Part of the reason it's easy to apply too much is down to the packaging. Yes, glass bottles look more expensive but you can still give them a pump! I hate foundations which pour out like this as they're messy and wasteful. This leaves me with a satin finish and sometimes I set with powder, sometimes not. I generally prefer dewy-er finishes so if I want that, I just don't powder. Staying power is just okay - I get a lot of transfer even when I set it. So I'm on the fence about this one. I think it's a average foundation and I'd have maybe given it another half point if it had a pump!

I have so many little pots of this that I'll never need to buy any more! I don't like this as a lip balm but do like to use it around my hairline when dying my hair and it does occasionally come in handy as a dry skin remedy.

I hate this scent. I think it's just me but I think it smells like a weird mixture between the ocean and cat pee. Eugh!

I've been using this for a few weeks now and I really like it. The finish is what I prefer - not too dry. I don't find it too shimmery and can confirm that it looks great in photos!

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer

I didn't think I'd like this as I normally use concealers with a more liquid-like texture after having a bad experience with BeneFit's Boi-ing. I bought it because I was having trouble covering blemishes with the Pro Longwear. It works well at covering everything as long as you warm it up a little in the pot first. It even works well under the eyes which is surprising! I want to try Select Cover Up next though!

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara

I loved this mascara when I first used it. It gives my lashes a lovely volumized look. However, it runs and smears horribly on me so I'm always dubious about wearing it now.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 5 of 5
staceisace 2/1/2011 9:48:00 AM

I've had this for a few months now and aside from trying to use up other eyeshadows, this is pretty much all I ever use. I love all the colours and think it's a great deal. The quality of the shadows is excellent and even the matte shades are easy to blend. The only issues I have with this palette are the packaging and the eyeliner. I hate the eyeliners (controversial?) and would have preferred the brush they are now selling it with in the US. I worry the packaging will get dirty.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bella Bamba
rated 4 of 5
staceisace 2/1/2011 5:48:00 AM

I bought this a few days am I'm in love! I've got medium-olive skin and normally stay away from pink blushes but this really suits me! I apply it with my E.L.F. Studio fan brush for a nice flush. I don't find it too shimmery and LOVE the smell! The only other BeneFit boxed powder I have is 10 (which I rarely use now but still like). I prefer the old packaging so Bella Bamba loses points for that and the fact you get significantly less product (not that I'd need more, I'd just have preferred it to be a bit cheaper).

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - High Beam
rated 1 of 5
staceisace 1/29/2011 8:09:00 PM

A BeneFit MUA put this on me today along with Bella Bamba. She said she liked the contrast between the gold in BB and the silver in High Beam. I tried to tell her that I really preferred gold tones on my warm skin but she didn't listen. In the store I couldn't really tell that she'd used it and left with Moon Beam instead but when I met my friend soon after he said that in the daylight the lines on my cheek and on my browbone were so obvious and very white. I'm going to give Moon Beam a try as I don't think the product itself is particularly awful. I just think that High Beam is not for anyone with warm undertones.

Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Hello Flawless!
rated 1 of 5
staceisace 1/29/2011 8:02:00 PM

I had this tried on me today and hated it. I agree with anyone who said it made their skin look dull. The artist applied it over the makeup I already had on and it made me look worse than I did before I went to the counter! It might work for oily skins but even on my t-zone which sometimes gets greasy, it was very drying. A miss for BeneFit this time!

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion
rated 2 of 5
staceisace 2/27/2010 4:28:00 PM

I tried this product in conjunction with The Body Shop's seaweed skincare range just to try and get rid of any blemishes that I sometimes get. I was very disappointed as I feel it made little/no effect. The tea tree stick is much better. It's nice that this is a cream you can apply all over your face and the tea tree feels nice and soothing (although it does have a very strong smell but I didn't mind it) but I found that it didn't sink into the skin very well which became a bit annoying. I'd recommend using a decent face scrub and the tea tree stick to help with spots instead.
