Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sweet Pea Limited Edition Eau de Parfum (EDP)
ssslasher23 3/20/2013 5:44:00 PM
YUM I love this scent. I bought the body spray last year and fell in love with it, decided to go for the EDP. Light, fruity floral scent; delicate and sweet without being sickly. Great spring/summer fragrance. My only complaint is that I don't find the scent lasts throughout the day. Lingers for a bit then kind of disappears.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Galderma - Epiduo (aka Tactuo in Canada)
ssslasher23 3/20/2013 5:36:00 PM
I so badly wanted this product to work for me, especially after having read so many good reviews on it here on MUA. Unfortunately, I didn't have the success that many people here had. I've always had mild acne, probably since I was about 12. Typical preteen/teen skin issues: some blackheads and whiteheads coming and going in the t-zone. Mainly on my nose and forehead and a bit on my chin. However, when I was about 17, I started getting pimples on my cheeks. I ignored it for some time, continued with my regular skin routine. It started to get worse and worse. I am now 20 and my skin's in terrible shape. :( I tried Tactuo last year, it was recommended to me by my GP. She told me I could expect a flare up for about the first 2 or 3 weeks before it would get better. When I picked up the prescription from the pharmacist, she told me I could expect to see it get worse for 3-4 weeks before seeing improvement. The first week was brutal, my skin was itchy, red, sore and inflamed. I had a lot of flakey skin and dryness. Just god awful. I used it on and off for about a month only to watch my acne get worse and worse. I started getting pimples in places I never used to like along my jawline and all over my cheeks. I figured I wasn't seeing results because I wasn't using it diligently. So, I used it for a month straight. Result? My skin was HORRIFIC. Honestly, it had never been worse. Finally I couldn't take it anymore I stopped using it and my skin calmed down a little. Though now I have way more marks than I used to before. I finally went and saw a dermatologist and told her about my experience with Tactuo, Apparently you shouldn't be seeing flare ups for more than about 2 weeks. My skin just doesn't react well with benzyl peroxide products!

Styling Products -TRESemme - Climate Control Tres Extra Hold Firm Control Mousse
ssslasher23 12/27/2012 5:35:00 PM
This is probably the best mousse I have ever used -- and I have used a lot of mousses. I tried it out at a friend's place and instantly fell in love. Climate Control leaves my hair soft and pliable, not dry and crunchy like the many other I have tried. The perfect product for these cold Ottawa winters. Plus, it smells fresh and clean :) Would definitely repurchase.

Hair -Finesse - Curl Defining Mousse
ssslasher23 10/24/2012 11:37:00 PM
After having read this product's reviews on MUA, I decided to grab a can at Walmart...less than $3.00CDN! Since my hair is very dry and coarse, I tend to not use mousses and go more towards creams, however, this is one of the very, very few mousses that have left my hair not dry and crusty! YAY! This mousse gives great definition and holds my curls all day (sometimes even til the next day after sleeping on it!). For those who have dry hair like me but would still like to try this product, I would advise putting a moisturizing hair cream of some sort before and then applying this. I have done this and achieved great results!

Lipstick -E.L.F. - Studio Matte Lip Color
ssslasher23 9/4/2012 8:46:00 PM
I have this in Rich Red. Oh my lord. Favourite red lipstick ever. I'm about an NC42 and can never seem to find a red lipstick to suit my complexion, I find they've all got either an orange or pink undertone. Rich Red is really a true red. The colour payoff is amazing and it lasts for hours. Would repurchase any day!

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Peachy Keen
ssslasher23 6/23/2012 10:55:00 PM
I really like this blush, I find the colour is similar to Elizabeth Arden's Terrarose. When I was running low on Terrarose, I was looking for an alternative to buying something that cost $38 (I had gotten it as a gift). Gave ELF's Peachy Keen a shot, and it's kind of similar! Mind you, it's not as pigmented, which is why I took off one star. Also, the mirror in the compact is kind of small. Overall though, great buy -- especially for $3!

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - All Colors
ssslasher23 6/23/2012 10:50:00 PM
I LOVE this eyeliner! I used to strictly use liquid liner, nothing else, but I came across this on ELF's site and decided to give it a shot. So glad I did! Goes on nice and smooth and you don't need a lot of product to get a good, solid colour (mind you I've only tried the black, so I can't speak for all colours). The little brush it comes with is just fine, though some may prefer another one. The packaging is fine, a little bulky for the amount of product in it, but it's alright. Then again, how much can you complain when you've only spent $3? Overall, this one's a winner in my books, I will be buying it over and over!

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - SILK FINISH - TRIPLE PLAY 172
ssslasher23 2/12/2012 7:06:00 PM
I found this at the dollar store for $2, so I thought I'd give it a try. Packaging is pretty bad. The sticker that holds it shut took forever to get off and even after that it's kind of hard to get open. Oh yeah, and the brush it comes with is terrible, don't even bother with it. The blush itself, well, I love it. I was kind of suprised to see that it got such terrible reviews. It is quite pigmented, so I can see how this might not be the best option for fairer skin seeing as two of the three shades are darker pinks. My skin is NC42ish, so these colours work great. I swirl them all together for a blush, then use a bit of the lightest shade as a highliter, works great! I would definitely buy this again :)

Blush -E.L.F. - Natural Radiance Blusher - Innocence
ssslasher23 1/14/2012 5:03:00 PM
I think almost all of the reviews written on this product are written by ladies with fair skin. Let me just say I am an NC42 (medium-dark tan skin) and I love this blush! My darker skinned ladies, don't shy away from this colour! I've seen Kimmy K wear lighter coloured blushes and they look so great on her, I thought I'd give it a try. It's not super pigmented so it doesn't look like a crazy bright-light pink, it's pretty subtle. I usually put this together with ELF's Nostalgic lipstick and black eyeliner and mascara. I took off one lippie because the packaing sucks and there is so little product in the tiny pan. But I mean it's only a dollar, so I guess you get what you pay for. I'd definately repurchase!

Lipstick -E.L.F. - Lipstick in "Nostalgic"
ssslasher23 1/14/2012 4:56:00 PM
I have looked all over for a pink-nude lipstick for my NC42 skintone. I bought this online from ELF's website and am impressed! It's just the colour I was looking for, yay :) Plus it goes on smooth and has a nice creamy texture. I took off one lippie because it doesn't stay on for very long and the packaging is pretty cheapy... Overall though, great buy. Only $1!

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio blush in giddy gold
ssslasher23 1/14/2012 4:49:00 PM
I love this blush! It kind of reminds me of Taj Mahal by Nars. It's a shimmery golden orangey colour, looks a bit intimidating in the pan but great on the skin -- I'm about an NC42 for reference. I definately reccomend this to ladies with a warm, tan skintone. Looks really nice when put together with some bronzer, a nude lip and dark eyes. Plus it's only $3! Great buy, would definately repurchase.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - So..? Sinful
ssslasher23 12/26/2011 7:19:00 PM
I bought this today on sale at Zellers (but I think I've seen it at Walmart too). It was in a So..? Sinful giftbox that came with the EDT, a handcream, and a lipgloss. The lipgloss isn't good, but the smell is really nice. The EDT smells nice, quite sweet and fuity (but in my opinion, a little too sweet, which is why I give it a 4). I quite like the handcream, though. Best thing was that it was super cheap -- $5.00 for all three!

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Fantasy Makers Black Lipstick (11065)
ssslasher23 12/26/2011 3:16:00 PM
I was uber excited about this lipstick being 'moisturizing', but moisturizing is definitely not the word for this. It's more...greasy. Just feels like it's sliding all over. The MUAer who suggested the nude lipliner is absolutely right, this is the kind of lipstick that will bleed and spread all over and end up looking very messy. Also doesn't have very good coverage, I find I have to apply it a few times to get a good, solid colour. Will try to finish this tube and definitelynot buy again.

Pressed Powders -New York Color - Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Bronze Glow
ssslasher23 12/26/2011 3:09:00 PM
Love this bronzer! I am an NC42ish skintone, and this looks great on my skin. It's a matte brown with a slight hint of pink that really gives a sunkissed look. I use it on my cheeks and brush a little on my chin, forehead and bridge of my nose just to add a little colour to my face (esp in the winter). It's great for those 'no makeup' type days, very natural and subtle :) And I only paid about $5 for it at Walmart -- good price.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sweet Pea Body Spray
ssslasher23 12/25/2011 9:48:00 PM
I bought this body spray over the summer when B&BW were having a huge sale, got it for $3! I'm picky when it comes to fragrances, I find most are so fruity that they smell like candy or too floral and granny-ish. Sweet pea is a lovely light fruity/floral combo that's not too sweet yet not too 'fresh'. I've been wearing it for months now and have recieved many compliments on it :) Now that it's winter though, I'm thinking of trying Sensual Amber since I've read some great MUA reviews on it. Sweet Pea just feels a little to summery for me right now.
