Liquid -Maybelline - SuperStay Makeup - New Version
squishie 2/9/2013 5:24:00 AM
I love this foundation and have hoarded a few of them when a good sale comes around. This gives me excellent pigmentation coverage. I will say when compared to other foundations that claim to be medium coverage, this one is medium to full coverage. It is buildable on my skin and if i dab on enough i dont need to use concealer over darker spots. It doesn't cake on my skin and even though it seems like a very matte foundation, my skin doesn't go dull or dry looking from this. I have dry skin and this works really well for me. It dries down really well. One of the best foundations i've tried.

Powder -Chi Chi - mineral powder foundation - light
squishie 4/29/2012 10:38:00 AM
I purchased this foundation in a few shades. There isn't much difference between light, light-medium and medium. Light medium actually looks darker than medium. I tried it on for the first time a few days ago and it seemed ok since i used it on top of my liquid foundation. However a little while later around 10-15 minutes or so, i looked in the mirror and the center of my face was muddy looking! I was 100% sure it was the powder as i didn't spread it evenly all over my face and knew the spots i had it in. I tested the foundation again on my arms and it definitely oxides into a much darker shade! It looked like bruises! This was in the light shade so the other darker shades are useless to me now. This is a total disappointment as i love the brand. The packaging is nice and sturdy. The brush it comes with is amazing but not very good with the powder. I found it hard to spread on the face. I tried mixing it with another brand's lighter loose powder and it does not work. It will keep oxidizing darker than the powder looks. I'm thinking of using this just as a contour now or a subtle bronzer. Do not recommend this at all You have no idea what shade it will turn into after you've put it on and thought it looked ok then stepped out the door! Disaster waiting to happen.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto
squishie 8/19/2011 5:50:00 AM
Love this. It is not the BEST mascara out there but i have short refusing to curl asian lashes and this works great. I had given up on using mascara for average days simply because i hate how messy it looks and makes the whole removing make-up process a lot slower. I found this for a really good price in Australia where everything is expensive so i decided to give it a try after hearing how it is very good. The first thing i noticed was how sparse the brush was. One coat, applies very thin and clean which i love for a natural look. The colour goes on really well, i have black lashes and i got the brown-black colour and it was still darker than my natural hairs. I worked up the volume with 2 coats which does make it less clean, but definitely not horrible clumpy like some other mascaras. I re-curled my lashes after(not good to do) and my lashes still look very long and curled upwards in a false lash way hours later! I feel like im wearing false lashes because im not use to my lashes being so long and curled. It looks great on the top lashes and really lengthens but i still prefer the fibrewig mascara on my bottom lashes. They get crazy long and look spidery gorgeous! For the price i found it at, i went back and bought all 3 left so yes i would repurchase :) I don't use a lot of drugstore mascaras. I've tried some past maybelline ones which seemed pretty good but average and loved stila one for a long time until it just seemed too messy and clumpy. It lengthens, curls well and holds it, is clean and can build volume as well... couldn't really ask for more in my mascara. I don't want to say i love this but i think i do love it :)

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Happyderm Cleansing Mousse Normal and Oily
squishie 8/9/2011 6:03:00 AM
I like this product. Recently found it at a store for really cheap and thought i'd give it a go since i've been liking L'oreal skincare lately. One pump dispenses a good amount and i love how whip cream like it is. It even has the same pattern! This removed most of my eye make up quite well and does not irritate the eyes as it does say for face and eyes on the bottle. The foam does start to fade quite quickly so it wouldn't work as well if i wore mascara and needed to scrub further. Works great as a beginning step to taking off make up. I will always use a scrub or a different cleanser after to make sure it's 100% clean. I went back to pick up another bottle since i haven't seen this product anywhere else. Bad decision... i looked up the batch code to find this was made in 2005-2006. So i'm not happy a actual store is selling such old stock even though it is can sealed and works fine. I will use up what i have which shouldnt last that long but even at such a low price i will not repurchase for sure. I don't believe these are in production anymore since 2008 from other reviews so stay clear of them!

Toners -LUSH - Tea Tree Toner Tab
squishie 8/9/2011 5:44:00 AM
Recently purchased the 3 kinds, vit c, q10 and tea tree. Vit C has the nicest scent but hardly steamed and Q10 fizzes and steams the most. I used these make make toner spritz so i wasn't using them to steam my face, and if i was i would be very disappointed because they hardly steamed at all! I was using very hot water but not boiling so i guess that was the reason. After i had pour each one into a spray bottle i wiped the excess on my face and the only difference i felt was after the tea tree one which was extreme drying. My skin felt tight in a bad way and little dry flakes were forming near my nose. However i had dry-normal skin so i think this is great for people with oily skin. I also read elsewhere someone saying this gave them dry patches after just steaming so people with dry skin should avoid this one :) I had wiped my face down with vit c then tea tree then Q10 and my skin looks very bright and has a nice complexion but it does feel dried out now even after moisturizer. I think this is a wonderful way to make a healthy toner spritz for everyday refreshening but i will probably use the tea tree one only on my 'troubled skin' days :) UPDATE: I've tossed the toner spritz i've made from these simply because it dries a bit powdery on the face which makes sense as it was originally a powdered form. I have a few tabs left which will only be good for steaming the face. I'm not keen on using them anytime soon. This product was a fun idea but not super practical. And as people have said, the price for a one time use would be considered high here. Will not buy again unless i was specifically looking to steam my face.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Dermo Expertise Age Perfect Night Cream
squishie 8/1/2011 12:40:00 PM
I love this cream :) It makes your skin feel firmer/tighter and tougher in a good way. It gives me a nice complexion when i wake up and my skin looks glowing. I have recommended this to my sister who has very dry flaky cheeks constantly, this cream and solved that problem and her skin is smooth again. I also got this for my mother and she has noticed firming also. Her face has always looked dull and greyish but is a lot more brighter and youthful looking with pinky cheeks these days. We all have stocked up on this cream as it does run out very quickly with everyday use in the small 50ml jar. The price is decent and we can usually find it on sale for $20 at chemist warehouse ($18 at the moment!). Me and my sister are in our mid 20s and my mother is in her early 50s. She hasn't ever used much skincare at all besides the basic olay moisturiser so even though this is more expensive, it is still affordable and the proven results make it worth it even more. Couldn't recommend this product enough! I think it works great for all ages and i don't care much for the age recommendation on the product. The best reviews are from the age perfect and pro-calcium range though i am i bit reluctant to try pro-calcium as this already works great and don't feel the need to get anything stronger. At first i thought this felt thick and greasy but its actually quite light compared to other night creams. I rub this in then pat it once with a tissue and it really helps if the greasiness annoys you. It is also quite scented but i don't mind it at all and you get use to it overtime. I hope this never discontinues, it is affordable and i can see myself using this forever.

Concealers -Rimmel - Match Perfection Concealer
squishie 5/18/2011 10:59:00 AM
I got this today in Ivory because it looked very comparable with the YSL Touche Eclat. I compared them to each other and the YSL is much more pink! It looks almost a coral next to this. There were 3 shades to choose from and i found myself to be between the light and the medium shade. I went for the light (ivory) because this product is suppose to highlight as well so i think this would work better. Im NC20-25. It is a lot more sheer and as someone mentioned i can imagine this being a dewy foundation rather than a concealer. I don't think this would work well for when i cover my dark circles but it would be nice to highlight ontop of a area i have already concealed which still looks dark. The packaging is a thin lip gloss like tube. I like that it is squeeze so i can control how much comes out. This costs $13.95 in Australia and for 7.5ml i find it isn't very cheap since there are similar priced concealers which contain a lot more product. However the YSL one only has 2.5ml so it isn't as bad when compared. It appears a lot more dewy as well and has a natural sheen that skin has. I would buy this product again only if it was on sale since i have other concealers which do cover well and i feel i can get that same highlight effect with a tad lighter foundation. Prefer if shade was closer to my skin tone. It works well for wrinkles and skin with bumps that thick concealers seem to emphasis. Don't recommend this for any coverage. I purchased this with a nice GWP or i wouldn't have ever considered getting it alone.

Mascara -Bourjois - Coup De Theatre 2 in 1 mascara
squishie 5/5/2011 7:23:00 AM
I purchased this today in Blue Spectaculaire (blue) and Brun fabuleux (bronze). In Australia the price of this mascara is $21, however i found 2 coloured ones on clearance sale and it appears to have discontinued from the regular line. My blue one even with a security sticker stuck on top seemed to have been opened by someone previously and the store sealed it back up :( So it bugs me a little this product doesn't have a box or plastic over it. So i decided to open and try it first. The brush is very rubbery and super flexible i thought it may have been snapped when i was pulling it out! But it was just bendy :) I got in and rubbed this all over my lashes. I don't see how this product can be clumpy because the formula is very watery like and thin. After trying to build volume for a while, i realised my lashes weren't going to get any longer. I stepped back and examined how well it went on and it was such a lovely electric purple blue colour. From sideways you can definitely tell they are coloured, however i do have natural black lashes and from far away it will look like a normal black mascara. But it gives this nice halo colour around my eyes and creates a really nice depth you get with good black mascaras. It also looked amazing with the blackish purple eyeliner i was wearing. I think this is lovely to wear when your eyes feel very plain and you want to give it a subtle pop of colour. It will definitely get the guy looking into your eyes hehe My lashes look very clean thick and each lash stands on it own even when grouped with other lashes. I havent tried the bronze one yet and from a previous review it is not your typical dark brown mascara. I think it would be perfect for lightening my brows which sort of made me glad this isn't a mascara with fibre bits. Overall i would love this to add more length but it is a really nice mascara. $21 is pricey so unless i'm completely out of the 30 other mascaras i own, then i will buy it :) Oh, i just coated this ontop of my other mascara and the length is amazing! It's between obvious fake lashes and natural lashes. Love it :D

Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner Deepest Black
squishie 2/11/2011 3:33:00 AM
This range of eyeliners recently came out in Australia. I've been using prestige eyeliners for over 6 years now when i first discovered them in high school. They are a slightly cheaper alternative to other drug store brands but the price seems to be going up on them! They are $14.95 here and the brand isn't very well known. This is the smoothest eyeliner i have ever tried! Along with the brand Savvy that we have here in priceline as well. Savvy has a luxury liner which is exactly the same quality for $7.95 but colours are limited and they don't have a matte black like prestige does, they do around 5 shimmer shades. After reading some of the reviews here i would agree it is very soft and i would imagine it to be difficult to make that fine line. I need my eyeliner thick so i have no problem with this at all. One of the cons i have realised through the other reviews is yes this eyeliner will run out quickly! It really is like butter with great pigmentation, even better than some mac eyeliners but mac definitely will last you longer. I think this is a great eyeliner for eyeliner addicts like myself, can't leave the house without it on! Smooth rich black, seriously does not budge even if i went smudging at it like crazy. Prestige has a wide range of eyeliners, waterproof - a bit harder but can achieve great pigmentation, not as smudge proof as total intensity but won't give you panda eyes. regular eyeliners + minerals - slightly smoother and better pigmentation than waterproof but can be smudged. kohl - like mac I guess it depends on what type of eyeliner you feel you need each day. I use the regular ones more often as i hate coming out of the shower after wearing waterproof eyeliner. For sweaty or rainy days i go with waterproof :) Planning to get the total intensity eyeliners in maybe every colour for those nights out where cameras will be snapping and i need my make up to look it's best!

Eyes -MAC - Greasepaint Stick in Greengrease
squishie 12/4/2010 7:13:00 AM
I got this product the other day and used it on my eyes today and i must say i really do love it. It is a very black green. Almost like a dark black eyeliner with a green shimmery sheen on top. I love how it is so dark and i can use it as a 'black' eyeliner. Pigmentation is amazingly good and very very smooth, hardly any pressure is needed which is so important for the eye area. As someone mentioned there is a very odd smell. Smells exactly like crayons which i'm not fond of. The packaging is a twist up which i like as i won't waste product sharpening it. I don't think i will use this colour as an eyeshadow and won't attempt to smudge it as i does seem like it sets really well. When i first tested on my hands, i wiped my hands with a wet tissue and this did not smudge or fade at all. However when i washed this off in the shower with a gel cleanser and exfoliater i expected to still see it on my eyes after but it had completely washed off which i'm quite happy about. I was worried this would be like the mac liquidlast liners but this definitely does was off. MAC is expensive in Australia so i would not buy this as a regular eyeliner and it can also be a bit too fat when doing thin lines. However if you need something that would last and stay as intense for a long time this product is perfect. I took a nap and woke up with this still looking perfect. Looking forward to trying to get my hands on other greasepaints now!

Palettes -MAC - Shadowy Lady Quad - Cult of Cherry
squishie 4/12/2010 1:38:00 PM
I have one of these quads and have actually purchased another one recently that should be on it's way already :D As many have also said, i love smudge violet. It's such a great base colour to start off with and use it as the blend between the dark eyeshadow up to the highlight colour. It's so pretty i havent seen any colour like it. It's almost a silver with a touch of purple that it almost looks like a dirty brown? I cannot wear silver at all! It looks so terrible on me and doesn't suit at all but this is more of a grey purple and i repurchased mainly for this colour :) However my main disappointment is i swiped this with my finger a few times, the eyeshadow has harder spots and clumped up a lot. I do not have water or oil on my fingers so i guess this shade is more sensitive? Only use a brush for this colour, my pan is clumpy and messy looking only after 3 uses :( I'm a bit disappointed in the pigmentation of the shades though. Lightfall is the worst. I'm fair - medium skin toned and lightfall does not show up at all! I can't tell what colour it is. I can see it looks a bit like a grey pink on my finger but the colour does not come off/show. As people stated it is a highlighter, maybe for dark skin tones only? Even crappy powder foundation is more pigmented than this =/ Deep truth is such a lovely blue. I'm not a person who can get away with bold bright colours, however i love rich blues and at first i was disappointed this was a bit dulled out and not as rich, but its actually a very wearable blue for me. However i have to swipe this 10 times (finger) to get the colour to come through. Shadowy lady is a nice deep purple. It almost can pass as a brown with purple tones. As someone who mostly only wears neutrals, this is a nice change from the typical browns without straying too far. Not the best shade in the quad but definately one with the best pigmentation and simple hassle free. Colour goes on easily, no clumps at all. I would recommend this quad for the smudge violet and shadowy lady but the colours are hard to show even after a lot of packing on. Also hate the clumping as i need to scrap the whole harden layer off and waste a lot of the eyeshadow.

Palettes -MAC - Intriguing Scarlet: 6 Warm Eyes
squishie 4/12/2010 12:36:00 PM
I got this when they were released in stores in 2008. The price in Australia was around $80, so they are quite expensive i must say but considering the eyeshadows here are $32 each i would say it's definately worth buying if you're looking to get a few new colours. I absolutely love this palette. The packaging is so gorgeous to me. I don't find it tacky at all considering this is a make up compact and not a diamond jewellery box. There's heaps of cheap clear plastic cases on the market and this is a pretty nice change. And i love red <3 The only thing that bugs me about the packaging is the lid is loose when it opens up, so i cannot hold the case looking at the mirror and do my make up which is inconvenient when im on the move. With the shades inside i find them to be perfect for what i need. If i was to go to MAC and shop for some neutrals, i probably would have picked up colours exactly to what's in this palette. The shades go on skin a lot differently than in the pan. The 'dark green' to me is a strong black and only on close inspection it would seem to have a olive glow to it. The cream colour is a perfect highlighter or inner corner colour, it's a white peach sheen, a whiter version of ricepaper? I love LOVE love warm suede. It looks like a funny olive in the pan but it goes on as a antiquey grey golden brown. Its shiny without being glittery. Then theres a medium brown, orangey brown and reddy brown, thats all covered! I'm fair - medium skin toned and brown neutrals suit me the best. This is the perfect palette to do my whole eye, i wish the darker brown was a little more pigmented but other than that no other complains with the shades :) Definately would recommend this to anyone who usually does brown smokey eyes and neutral looks. It's limited edition but MAC comes out with similar warm eye palettes every now and then so i willl definately be keeping an eye out for those :D

Eye Shadow -MAC - Bamboo
squishie 3/22/2010 5:58:00 AM
Hmm, i'm not sure about this colour. I have fair-medium yellow toned skin. This colour looks like a dirty grey faded-orange on me. A bit like i just rubbed off my eye makeup but you can still see some of the colour xD Also it looks exactly as if i got a foundation that was one shade too dark, it's barely see-able for me! Plus since its matte it doesn't give a nice sheen as some plainer eyeshadows would do to actually show. I think this works great as a base, And probably lovely on darker skin as the normal beige might appear too bright for them. If packed on, i think it would look amazing as a super natural crease colour for super pale skin. But for me it definately is a no xD

Lip Gloss -Dessert Beauty - Dessert Treats Deliciously Kissable Plumping Lip Candy in Cotton Candy
squishie 11/8/2009 7:52:00 AM
I got a few small ones of these a while ago. I naturally have quite pigmented lips so this baby pink color which may appear clear to most, is actually a really nice baby pink on my lips. It actually makes my lips a lighter nicer color without putting something underneath! (which i need to do to achieve any nice color on my lips) It does tingle a little for 'plumping' but i do agree it has a dry effect instead. But i like it since my lips don't need any plumping. I hate the sticky or greasy feeling i get from some lipglosses. The sparkle doesn't bother me as i've tried other things where the sparkle was so intense it was unbearable. This is really subtle and my lips look like really soft jelly pudding :D The only downside to this product is that overtime it will wear away but i dont mind reapplying it since it feels like a soft layer of water on my lips. I wouldn't buy this product again mainly because its out of production and anything left out there is expired. But if anyone knows a product that has the same color as the cotton candy gloss i'd really appreciate it if you cause message me or leave some suggestions. I'm not a big fan of gloss so i wouldn't normally buy glosses. Ii'd rather know i'm going to get this color than risk getting something i'd never use. Thanks :)

Liquid -Dermalogica - Treatment Foundation
squishie 1/20/2009 8:49:00 AM
I recently got my hands on shade 2 and it was way too dark for me. My face seems to have gone lighter than my body from the sun so my foundation has been looking too light. Since it was too dark i mixed it with my lighter foundation and the colour looked different but when put on it looks the same as the lighter foundation! So basically its so sheer with no coverage at all. In hot weather it literally melts on your face. I had my phone against my face and the foundation just melted right onto it and also on my sunnies. Maybe 1g would suit me better but its just too sheer and melty. The dewy look after looks nice and natural but it feels wet like u can rub your finger on your face and leave a line. Definitely not recommended for the beach, summer weather and if you want coverage! If i can get my hands on a cheap 1g i'll probably try it again but i will definitely buy again.
