Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Purple Lab Pearlesque Show

OMG i am starting to hate purple lab for making all these things i never thought i needed before into necessities! first foundation, now primer. ill admit it seems pretty pointless at first thought, but because im obsessed with this brand i decided to give it a shot. my skin looked AMAZING, and i do not, unfortunately, have great skin. purple lab's whole things is that they do "double-duty beauty", which i thought was just talk, but the care they put into their ingredients does make a huge difference in their products. like this primer: other primers havent done much for me, but this one has PEARLS and it and my skin really did seem, well, luminous. what was also great about this is that it created a really smooth base on which my other makeup went over beautifully. gotta say, this one's a keeper.

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Purple Lab Huge Lips Skinny Hips- Goji Berry Smoothie
rated 4 of 5

this color is really smooth and subtle, it reminded me of the worship kate shade but a bit lighter and pinker; appropriate for the warmer weather. it made my lips look a little berry stained, which was sexy, but it was still appropriate for work. as always, i really like the concept and execution of this product and am glad they're expanding their color repertoire a bit. unfortunately for my bank account, they're becoming like collectibles to me and i need them all!

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Huge Lips Skinny Hips- Limo to Lobby

im not usually a fan of brights (i think my lips are too thin to get away with most of them) but i totally love this shade for summer. its bright, but not too bright, and its base is a nice natural pink, so it makes the brightness less overwhelming- it's not like its neon orange! plus, the plumper in the gloss is super effective so my lips didnt look as thin and therfore could pull off the bright better. love!

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Huge Lips Skinny Hips Love Your Thighs

this product gets my usual fab review, but this color, a bright coral, was not the most flattering to my skin. it wasnt bad, but considering how many other great shades they have, this wouldnt be my first choice. however, a fairer friend with dark hair tried it and it looked SLAMMIN on her, so i think, as with anything, it just needs to be the right shade for you.

Crème -Unlisted Brand - Purple Lab Silk Sheets

i dont use foundation (hopefully i have a couple more years of being able to get away without it!), but i would definitley keep this product around for special occasions or times i wanted to look a little more refined. this product actually felt a lot like the mercier moisturizer(see my review), because its so light and goes on more like a lotion than a foundation. although its a cream, its pretty thin and goes on nice and smooth. on the product description, it says that algae and seaweed (again, those crazy creative ingredients) serve to tighten the skin. im pretty wary of claims like that, but again, like some other purple lab products ive reviwed, these claims actually have some base to them. my skin had a pleasant tightness to it for a couple hours. again, im not a regular foundation user, but i think this product could work for someone who is. plus, a lot comes in one package!

Blush -Unlisted Brand - Purple Lab Cheek Implants

okay, okay, i know i've been loving on purple lab a whole lot lately, but, at the risk of being redundant, i just have to say i LOVE this blush. like ive said about another cheek stain, i am very devoted to my orgasm, but this is a seriously close second. the reason i love purple lab so much is because their products are just so damn smart. a lot of them do double duty, like i mentioned about the eyeliner/mascara, and even though they just do basics, their inclusion of original and inspired ingredients makes the whole tedious process of going online, ordering, waiting, etc, worth not just breaking down and running to sephora. this blush has COLLAGEN in it (whodathunk?) that makes your cheekbones pop. im a huge fan of cheekbones. i used "six inch heels" because im all about super rosy cheeks, but the "backstage pass" is more peachy and suited to women who have a stronger olive base than i do. i'll stop gushing now.

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Purple Lab Luvah
rated 4 of 5
sps312 4/7/2010 3:23:00 PM

this gloss is great. i use rich jerk, which is a nice pink, and it really adds some dimension and fullness to my lips. i like huge lips skinny hips a bit more, just because of its versatility (with the clear, you can still wear any other lipstick under it), but this gloss definitely deserved mentioning. it has a really nice feel. i often find that potted glosses/colors can feel waxy, but this one doesn't, it just has a nice thickness like a lipstick. it also tastes super yummy! a fun note: this plumper claims to have an aphrodisiac. unfortunately, my dry spell has prevented me from testing this, but my roommate did claim some extra.. excitement after she sampled my rich jerk. seems like fun!

love, love, love. i don't usually wear much on my lips, because it seems like a pain to keep reapplying things that come off so easily. also, i have no faith in lip plumpers. but a friend gave this to me one night when i wanted to dress up my look a bit and i was really pleasantly surprised. i have incredibly thin lips and this gave them some actual body! i used "no panty lines", which is clear, but im dying to try the colors: they have a pink called "kitty poledancer" that looks super flattering. this product has hoodia in it, an appetite suppressant. i didnt feel much, but my friend used it too and claimed she couldnt eat much at dinner! this has reversed my gloss aversion. maybe i dont need collagen after all...

Highlighters -Unlisted Brand - Purple Lab Luxury Squared
rated 4 of 5
sps312 4/7/2010 2:53:00 PM

i was a little wary about trying/spending money on this product, just because ive never really used highlighter and dont see the absolute necessity of it. but this product is nice: really great feel and a pretty finishing touch to most looks. i liked how the highlighter accentuated my cheeck and browbones. i would feel a bit guilty spending a reasonable amount of money on just this accent, though, so the fact that concealer comes with it makes it a much better buy. the concealer is a little dark for me, but it works as a great contrast to the highlighter (i could be devoted to this product just for the fact that both products together help me slim down my humongo nose) and seeing that summer's around the corner, i might warm up to the shade. a good basic that i never even realized was necessary.

Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Purple Lab Lashionista Modelista
rated 4 of 5

i don't usually try a lot of new brands, but this was definitely worth ordering. like ive mentioned before, i do have naturally long lashes, but this product added incredible length as well as a nice, even fullness without clumping. this is the kind of knockout mascara i love to pile on for nights out, but using just one coat makes it appropriate for day time too. another amazing aspect of this product is that it's a liner too! i thought i was pretty devoted to my urban decay liner (what can i say? im a creature of habit!) but i really like this as well. liquid liner can be tricky and this felt tip applicator is even easier than a thin brush applicator. nice color, nice thick application, nice control over the brush. plus, the diamond dust in this product makes me feel like a rockstar!

Powder -Lancome - Color Ideal Pressed Powder [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
sps312 4/7/2010 1:05:00 PM

daria werbowy's lancome ads are absolutely to die for, particularly her skin: matte yet glowing, porcelain but with some color, all-around stunning. naturally, i had to try lancome's powder to try to achieve the finished look she has (could i maybe get her body too?). although i cant have my whole wish, this powder really reduced shine and had a lovely velvety finish. also, i have olive undertones in my skin, which can often make colors look chalky or grey, but this one had a nice warmth. nothing complicated here, just a great basic that offers great results.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
rated 4 of 5
sps312 4/7/2010 12:57:00 PM

for a drugstore mascara, this is pretty impressive. i have pretty long lashes, so the fact that this didn't add much length wasn't too much of an issue. it did offer great volume, although it does have a tendency to clump. it also dries out quite quickly, but since its pretty cheap i didnt feel too slighted that i had to buy more quite soon.

Blush -Beaute Cosmetics - Liqui-Gel Stain for Cheeks & Lips - Flouron #500
rated 4 of 5
sps312 4/5/2010 5:00:00 PM

i'm pretty devoted to my orgasm blush, but have liked stains in the past and decided to try this product. as other reviews have mentioned, the color in the tube scared me. i have relatively fair skin and dont like things too orange-y. but sure enough, this stain came on as a nice pink, not quite pink-y enough for me, but a very nice color that i'm sure would meet most other peoples pink needs (i love rosy cheeks!) unless they stop making orgasm (what a horrible day that will be...), i probably wouldn't make the witch to this product, but it is a nice product to have for a different look. i liked using it in the warmer weather when i go for a more dewy look and powder blush isnt quite right.

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
rated 4 of 5
sps312 4/5/2010 4:15:00 PM

i love this product. i don't wear foundation and dont like the feel or look of all-over coverage. this is light enough that your skin shows through but it smooths everything out nicely. it feels much more like a moisturizer than a foundation. it is pretty expensive and doesnt last too long, but every once in a while, i would certainly treat my self to some mercier loving!
