Mascara -Shiseido - Nourishing Mascara Base
rated 3 of 5

This product has a different formula from most of the other lash primers out there. It is a clear gel instead of a white cream. It gives great added length and volume, plus excellent lash separation. Very smooth and clump-free application also. I was impressed with the overall effect and I can see why this gets so many positive reviews. But it was nearly impossible to wash off! An unpleasant surprise. Even after double-cleansing I could still feel the product residue on my lashes. Maybe this isn't a problem for those who regularly use strong eye makeup remover, but I don't. Wouldn't repurchase this unfortunately. I have tried lash primers by Clinique, Tarte, Dior, Hard Candy, Lancome, Origins, and now Shiseido. I think that Lancome makes the best one.

Treatments -Algenist - Concentrated Reconstructing Serum
rated 2 of 5

This serum made my skin feel so dry, that's what I didn't like about it. It has a nice lightweight non-sticky texture, and it sank into my skin right away. But the longer I had it on, the drier my skin got. And I don't have dry skin! Quite the opposite. I suppose my face looked a little bit smoother and brighter from use of this product, but the dry and tight complexion wasn't worth it for me. Would not repurchase.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Pore Refining Solutions Stay-Matte Hydrator
rated 2 of 5
sprite26 5/13/2013 5:49:00 PM

Not a winner for me. The one good thing about this product is that it felt absolutely silky on my face, even several hours later. But that was the only "pro", everything else was "con". There was zero oil control and this product left a white cast on my skin. Ineffective and not cosmetically elegant. Wouldn't repurchase.

Polishes -Zoya - Rory
rated 4 of 5
sprite26 5/13/2013 5:39:00 PM

Really Gorgeous! Halfway between lavender and pink with a shimmery, slightly frosty finish. Zoya Rory won me over because it is so pretty and feminine, and the color is just perfect for spring and summer. And something about this polish strikes me as a little bit retro, 80s perhaps? But in a good way! As much as I love the color I am still on the fence about Zoya's formula. Why does their polish stink so bad? Everytime I use a Zoya polish that smell just lingers and lingers, I don't understand it. And they seem to take forever to dry. But because I have found a few Zoya shades that I really like a lot, I continue to explore the brand. This one is a definite keeper, would repurchase Rory.

Polishes -OPI - Swimsuit... Nailed it!
rated 3 of 5

One of the most beautiful blue polishes ever- glowy, sparkly, metallic, eye-catching. And also left behind the worst stains on my nails ever. Ever!! It's unfortunate. Wouldn't repurchase because it's that bad of a stainer. Otherwise, this would have been one of my all-time faves.

Polishes -Zoya - holly
rated 5 of 5
sprite26 5/10/2013 9:21:00 AM

Zoya Holly is a beautiful metallic emerald green, one of my all-time favorite polishes and definitely my favorite Zoya by far. I can't believe no one's reviewed this yet, it is so awesome. Zoya's formula doesn't always play nice with me, but no problems with this one. Lovely application and long-wearing. This shade always makes me think of the wrappers on the Holiday Hershey's Kisses- the green ones of course. But even though the color is a little Christmas-y, it's not limiting at all. Looks gorgeous year-round! LOVE!!!

Moisturizers -La Mer - Moisturizing Lotion
rated 5 of 5
sprite26 5/10/2013 5:14:00 AM

Just one of the best products ever. Combines the hydration and healing properties of CDLM in a lightweight lotion you can actually wear in the daytime. Makes my skin smooth and silky with zero greasiness. The Moisturizing Lotion has a light, pleasant scent and a luxurious feel, just glides right onto my skin and sinks in. And the packaging is a hygienic pump dispenser too, so that's another plus. My skin just drinks this up and glows. I like this even better than CDLM (and I LOVE CDLM!) Great product!

Cleansers -First Aid Beauty - Face Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
sprite26 5/10/2013 1:58:00 AM

This is an okay foaming cleanser. It lathers up nicely, cleanses well & removes makeup, rinses cleanly too. Doesn't irritate or strip my skin at all. But I really don't like it that much. It lacks the rich, frothy texture that I like in a foaming cleanser, the consistency is a bit thin and weird in this one, a little slimy even. And the scent isn't the nicest. For the price ($20) I'd want a more luxurious feel from a product. Too pricey for how basic it is. Not a bad product overall, but it's nothing special and I wouldn't buy it again. I prefer Origins Checks and Balances or Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser (my HG).

Treatments -Joico - K-Pak Intense Hydrator
rated 5 of 5
sprite26 5/8/2013 1:13:00 PM

I have been having really good experiences with Joico's products overall- what a great brand! The K-pak Intense Hydrator is an EXTREMELY moisturizing conditioner and my dry, thirsty hair loves this product. Detangles wonderfully and provides great slip. Always leaves my hair soft, manageable, and just well-behaved. And it doesn't weigh my hair down in the least. This is a quality product that delivers beautiful results every time. Costs a little bit more than drugstore brands but it's worth every penny. Definite HG material, I plan to stock up!

Eyeliner -Illamasqua - Precision Ink - Abyss
rated 2 of 5
sprite26 5/7/2013 5:16:00 AM

The glowing reviews gave me high hopes for this eyeliner but it was such a letdown. Where to start? First of all, it is NOT long-lasting. It flakes like mad! Little black specks all over my eyelids. Also, the way it's designed makes it difficult to control the amount of product that gets dispensed and can cause a messy application. The excess liquid ran onto my eyelashes and dried there, pretty much ruining any mascara plans I might have had. The packaging says it is waterproof which explains why it was so dang hard to wash off. (It flakes yet it's hard to remove, that's a weird combo). Lastly, I didn't care much for the glossy look of the liner itself. I wasn't looking for a completely matte black liner, but the glossiness was a bit much. It didn't look pretty or sophisticated to me, but that's just my personal opinion. For the record, my favorite liquid liner is Lancome's Artliner. Now that eyeliner beats this one by a mile! Back to Artliner for me, won't be purchasing this again.

Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk
rated 1 of 5
sprite26 5/2/2013 10:18:00 PM

This stuff right here? Absolutely positively destroyed my hair. I started using it in shade Brown Black because I wanted a box color to cover my greys and I wanted a permanent color that wouldn't wash out despite its claims of being permanent- I'm looking at you, Feria! But anyway, this color did the trick and I continued to use it for well over a year. And then one day I looked up and simply could not believe what a mess my hair had become. Dry, scraggly, straw-like. That's the thing about this dye, it gave good results initially but was extremely damaging over time. Using this product on a regular basis, the damage will sneak up on you. I started a routine of protein treatments combined with deep conditioning and regular trims to try to fix my hair. In the end I basically had to wait for the mess to simply grow out altogether. I have since switched to Clairol Nice n Easy and have been very pleased. My hair improved a million percent after I stopped using ColorSilk. It's cheap and there's a reason why! Will never ever purchase this product again.

Toners -Kiehls - Ultra Facial Toner
rated 3 of 5
sprite26 5/2/2013 10:11:00 PM

Supremely gentle, this milky toner is great for extra cleansing with zero irritation. Definitely suited for dry or sensitive skins. If you have strong, oily skin or need deeper cleansing, then a different toner would probably be better for you. I like to use this when my skin is feeling a little sensitive from some of my more hardcore facial products, because I don't like to skip using toner and sometimes I need to use something super-gentle. Well this fits the bill. It actually has a soothing effect on my skin, which is great when I need it. But it doesn't leave my skin refreshed and cleansed the way my other toners do, so it's not my favorite but I'd buy it again.

My hair improved a million percent after I stopped using ColorSilk. One more thing and I don't know if this is specific to this particular shade, but after a couple of weeks of shampoos the dark brown fades quite a bit and leaves a burgundy tint to the hair. If you don't mind people asking you if you've dyed your hair burgundy then this might not be a problem. It's cheap and there's a reason why! Will never ever purchase this again.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Smoky Kohl Eyeliner 01 Black
rated 1 of 5
sprite26 5/1/2013 11:45:00 PM

I bought this on sale for $3 and I still think I paid too much. Almost no color payoff (it goes on medium-gray!) and it smudged all over my eyelids pretty much instantly. I found this eyeliner to be a terribly low-quality product overall. No doubt you can find better kohl liners in the drugstore. Avoid this one.

Treatments -Lancome - Bright Expert
rated 1 of 5
sprite26 4/30/2013 9:28:00 AM

An expnsive product that doesn't do much, I didn't care for this at all. It was greasy and yet it did not moisturize my skin. Thin and liquidy texture with a heavy floral scent that lingers. And after continued use, there were no changes to my skin tone. No brightening of my complexion, no fading of my dark spots. It basically didn't work. Would not repurchase.
