Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
spartan810 1/27/2011 3:41:00 PM
I have UDPP in Sin and Original (actually I have like 6 of the originals because UD includes sample sizes of it in everything, haha), and to honest, I like Sin better than Original. The original works fine and everything, helps keep my eye makeup in place, prevents creasing and fading on oily lids, everything that I expected. I don't have a huge problem with creasing, though, just fading. I like Sin better because it amplifies the intensity of color and seems a little thicker, which (on me) increases the effectiveness of the primer, making my post-application fade time much longer.

Toners -Alba Botanica - Hawaiian Hibiscus Facial Toner
spartan810 4/28/2010 3:26:00 PM
I've been using this toner for about a year now, and I love it. First of all, it smells AMAZING. Like lemonade. Since using it, my skin has been better able to absorb moisturizer and other products. It's also very gentle - never stings or anything. You don't have to use a lot; if you pour a little bit onto a cotton ball, it'll cover your entire face. I use it after I cleanse and before I moisturize day and night. Previously to using this product, I was using Neutrogena's Alcohol-Free Toner, which worked okay, but left a film on my skin and prior to that, I didn't use a toner. I can definitely tell a different between not using a toner and using one.

Polishes -OPI - Dating a Royal
spartan810 10/28/2009 5:02:00 PM
I love this color :) I'm very fair with pink undertones, dark brown hair, green eyes, and this color looks amazing on me. I generally wear my nails very short, so I can't say how it would look on longer nails, but on me it gives off a punk vibe. It's almost royal blue, but a little bit lighter, which my guy says he thinks fits me because blue is "in between girl-y and stripper-y", which he seems to think fits me..ha. Coverage is decent, one coat is too sheer, but two and a topcoat looks awesome and didn't chip for over a week.

Conditioner -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Conditioner
spartan810 10/28/2009 4:51:00 PM
First of all, to comment on some of the below reviews: You cannot buy high quality shampoo at places like TJ Maxx or a grocery store and expect it to be the same quality as buying directly from the manufacturer. I've had so many bad experiences with watered-down or obviously altered hair products that weren't purchased from a licensed dealer, so I feel like those reviews should be negated.. haha. But ANYWAY, I love this conditioner. I use it in conjunction with FF's Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo because I have super oily hair. I bought it because the reviews claimed that it was light-weight and didn't make hair more oily. I'm not really sure whether it necessarily makes my hair more "glossy", but it does exactly what I've been looking for in a conditioner (and unable to find in other conditioners): it makes my hair soft, manageable, and moisturized without making it more greasy or weighing it down. It also smells great.

Shampoo -Frederic Fekkai - Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo
spartan810 10/28/2009 4:46:00 PM
I have extremely oily hair that requires daily washing. Even if I shower at night, I have to shower again in the morning to avoid looking like an oil spill. I've been using Redken All Soft for a few months, and it's made my hair soft, but has only contributed to my oil problem. I've been looking for a shampoo that helped reduce oil, and when I read reviews and the description for Fekkai's Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo, I decided it was worth the somewhat ridiculous price and went ahead and ordered it. I'm so glad I did! This shampoo actually allows me to use a conditioner (something I couldn't do before because it would make my hair too oily). My hair never looks oily anymore, even after I sleep! This is officially my HG shampoo. :) Also, the scent is fresh and has a "salon-like" smell to it, and it lathers amazingly.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Accutane (by prescription)
spartan810 8/13/2009 10:52:00 PM
So first of all, let me say that accutane has been the only thing that's ever worked 100% for my skin. I have literally tried everything possible, from prescription topicals to antibiotics to every OTC brand of cleanser and toner and cream and spot treatment to ProActiv to natural treatments like tea tree oil to different diets...and I none of it has worked for any length of time. I've had acne since I was 10. I'm now 20. So I went to my derm and she put me on accutane (Claravis). I also had to go on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo at the same time, which may have also helped, but within a matter of about 2 weeks, my skin was clear and non-oily and my hair had stopped being oily and I was pretty much the happiest girl ever. Then at the end of my first month on it, my boyfriend started noticing that I was super moody and annoyingly crazy to the point where it was affecting our relationship. I was always upset about SOMETHING; the stupidest things would make me cry. So I did some research and decided it wasn't worth it to be on accutane if it was affecting me so much. I stopped taking it and my mood immediately went back to normal (even though I was still on BC, so I know it wasn't my BCP.) My skin stayed clear for a few more weeks and then slowly went back to normal, but a little bit better because of my BCP. So sadly... accutane didn't work for me. Also, the side effects of this drug are crazy.. be CAREFUL if you want to take it, because it can mess you up! Oh also, important side note for those who are sexually active: it lowered my sex drive to -10000000000. I never wanted to have sex ever. And it was almost physically impossible to because of a lack of.... certain inhibitors. I've read a bunch of stories where people never get their sex drive back after taking this drug! So anyway it gets one lippie for working.. haha.

Mascara -Urban Decay - Big Fatty Mascara
spartan810 8/7/2009 11:34:00 PM
I purchased this mascara at a Sephora store on a whim because of the cute tube. Urban Decay has always been a favorite company of mine, especially since it was the first makeup I ever used, but I detest this mascara! It doesn't do anything to darken my lashes (they are already pretty dark) and it doesn't lengthen them. It wears off after an hour or so leaving my lashes looking exactly the same as pre-mascara application. It also leaves fallout on my cheeks... and I hate having dots of mascara under my eyes that make me look like I don't get enough sleep. Boo on this mascara.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
spartan810 8/7/2009 11:31:00 PM
First of all, I'm 20 years old and I've had acne since I was 10. It's gone through various degrees of clarity, but recently it's been awful. I actually went on Accutane in February of 2008, which cleared up my skin, but after a month I was an emotional disaster, so I had to quit. My acne came back until I started using Purity, which actually cleared my skin. I was amazed cause I have literally used EVERYTHING. Antibiotics, prescription topicals, every single OTC product, natural products, Proactiv, etc., and this non-acne cleanser has worked. I've also gone on birth control recently which has helped to keep my skin clear, but I love Purity! If I skip a day, my skin will get a bit congested, so basically this is my life. Other than that, I also love the lemon scent and the fresh feel I get after using it.

Polishes -OPI - Peach-A-Boo!
spartan810 8/7/2009 11:25:00 PM
I purchased this polish at an Aveda salon after getting my hair cut. I was actually looking for a gold or yellow polish, but this one caught my eye and my stylist said she had it and loved it. I brought it home and tried it on both my fingers and toes and I LOVE it :) It's such a lovely, feminine color and it works well with my fair skin, where orange-y colors usually do not. It's subdued but beautiful.
