Masks -LUSH - Mask of Magnaminty
sourskittleash 12/2/2012 3:12:00 AM
I had been neglecting my skin and hadn't put on a mask or gone for a facial in ages (since facials break me out). I passed by Lush and bought this on a whim since I had read reviews, and I'm so glad I did! I use this every 2-3days for 15 minutes then I scrub it off, and in 3 weeks my skin has drastically improved: pores are smaller, no new breakouts, existing zits have gone in and my skin feels CLEAN! I highly recommend this!

Concealers -Ben Nye - Mellow Yellow concealer
sourskittleash 11/30/2012 1:00:00 AM
LOVE!! I am NC30 in MAC and I got this in MY-2. The coverage is amazing, I had been looking for ages for a reasonably priced yellow concealer, to put on top of my peach undereye corrector (Benefit Erase Paste), and WOW this really brightened my undereye! If you feel its too cakey/dry make sure you have used a good primer, your skin is moisturised well, and moisten your fingertip with a bit of moisturiser, then rub the concealer in the pot to warm it up and make it more creamy, then apply - makes a huge difference! If you don't rub it in the pot to soften it, then it comes out looking really dry. I highly recommend this in cominbination with Ben Nye Banana powder, my undereye looked fantastic - finally! I ordered this off makeupmania.com along with the Banana powder. I have uploaded a pic of swatches above to compare to my NC30 Mac concealer.

Hair Styling Tools -Babyliss - Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron
sourskittleash 5/6/2012 8:46:00 AM
OMG I LOVE THIS IRON! I have the european version, which looks the same but is a steel gray colour, and has 5 temp settings that go up to 230degrees C, and is also called "The Straightener". I have uploaded a pic next to the main image for this. I prefer it over my Sedu, GHD and CHI! Yes I own all 3 because I'm such an iron freak but this is by far the best one, it made my hair look so shiny! The box says to slide down the hair only once, and it's really true, it works that well! I use it at the second highest setting, 210degrees C, because I'm worried about burning my hair :) The price is reasonable, it's still cheaper than Sedu and GHD and CHI here in Dubai, by about 200dhs ($60 American) Doesnt snag my hair, heats up very fast, and feels very sturdy! <3 The european one can be found here: http://www.babylisspro.com/en/Electricalappliances/Produit/BAB2091E/tabid/196/language/en-US/Default.aspx

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste
sourskittleash 8/9/2010 4:04:00 AM
MAC shade: NC35 Erase paste shade: 3 (darkest) Under-eye circles: Super dark HOW TO USE: - Scoop out a small amount with the spatula - Put the little bit of paste on your hand - Heat gently with the hairdryer for 3 seconds, hairdryer at a distance, this will make it creamy, i have the AC on all the time so my makeup tends to harden - Use a concealer brush to put on your eyes gently stippling and blending... sometimes i use my fingers when i'm being lazy - Blend out, wait 5 minutes for it set, then apply a yellow-toned concealer, or a powder, I use Benefit Bluff Dust if I want yellow to tone down the peach/pink, or a translucent powder REASONS I LOVE: - Great alternative for Bobbi Brown's Dark Peach corrector.. Bobbi Brown was too heavy and gave me sunken undereyes! - Decent amount of product for price - Amazing coverage - Good colour match - Good consistency (after heating up tho, straight off the pot it's very hard and difficult to blend) REASONS I DON'T LIKE IT: - Price could be cheaper

Styling Products -TiGi - Bed Head Control Freak Extra Extra Straight 4
sourskittleash 7/2/2010 2:19:00 PM
LOVE! you have to know how to use this product properly: my stylist used it on me and warned me it's tricky to use, but it made my wavy/frizzy hair soooo smooth and very straight after she was done blow drying and i bought it immediately!! i use it at home and get the same salon result but it takes PRACTICE!! it'd be nice if it was easier to use but hey, it does a good job so can't complain! how to use: - shake bottle very well - on damp hair spray very lightly onto sections and brush out with a rectangle paddle brush as you spray on to distribute product evenly through strands of the hair... be careful not to use too much or concentrate in one area too much, because that's when it gets crunchy, i would say 2 seconds of spray per 4 inch wide hair chunk -as soooon as you're done distributing the product through your hair, start your blow dryer and with the paddle brush straighten out your hair.. for those that dont know the paddle brush technique, this has saved me soooo much time blow drying my hair straight: the brush goes under the hair pulling it straight and blow dryer on top slides down with the paddle brush down the hair shaft - concentrate heat abit longer than you would so the strokes of the blow dryer are slow and concentrated.. hair might steam abit but that's the product heating up (dont get scared!) - once you're done with your hair it should be poker straight and if you're a straight freak then you can flat iron abit trust me i have been trying to straighten my hair since i was 14 (I'm 25 now) and this has been by far the quickest and best way to get my frizzy mess into sleek and straight! fyi i use tigi dumb blonde shampoo and conditioner, then john freida frizz ease orange heat serum (very little), then kerastase ciment thermique (very little), and this... might sound like alot of products to some but you haven't seen my hair! :) pm me if you have any questions!

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Concealer

UPDATE: Added BEFORE and AFTER picture! http://img.makeupalley.com/0/0/7/3/1249380.JPG MAC studio fix shade: NC35 MakeUp ForEver Mat+ shade: 40 Bobbi Brown Concealer Shade: Warm Beige Bobbi Brown Corrector Shade: Dark Peach .................................................................................... NOTE: I only use this to cover my undereye circles, along with the corrector, to cover up undereye circles, NOT on my face skin as I think it's faaar to creamy/oily for that .................................................................................... SHADE IS KEY! I have used lots of combinations of their shades: Peach or Dark Peach as the corrector and concealer in Honey or Warm Natural or Warm Beige... (yes I wasted a lot of money by buying the wrong shades and that's why I want to save you from the sorrow!) I can't count the combinations but the WRONG ONE WILL NOT WORK!! .......................................................................................... I finally found the RIGHT COMBINATION FOR NC35 skin: Dark Peach corrector with Warm Beige concealer on top and OMG my underye circles are history! My whole face looked soooooo much better and I look fresh and much unlike a zombie! I wish I could go back in time and always have worn this! ..................................................................................... MY ADVICE: Before buying, find the shade combination that is right for you! Go to an experienced Bobbi Brown salesperson, some of them just threw the wrong shades at me and wasted my money :( ..................................................................................... ALSO: Must apply loose powder on top well to take away the shine, I use MakeUp Forever Super Matte Loose Powder in shade 54

Lotions/ Creams -Sally Hansen - Healing Foot Cream
sourskittleash 12/3/2008 2:21:00 PM
I don't have any problems with my feet like cracked heels or anything, and I barely wear heels, but I moisturise my feet every night to prevent anything happening. I don't need a deeeep moisturiser so I liked this, smells nice and makes my feet feel moisturised, but I'm sure there's a better foot cream out there.

Misc Beauty Tools -MAC - Brush Cleanser
sourskittleash 12/3/2008 2:11:00 PM
Ladies, save your money and use baby shampoo instead, MACs brush cleanser is just way too diluted and doesn't clean my brushes half as well as Johnsons baby shampoo does... If you want brushes so clean that your brushes white bristles that have turned black from black eyeshadow turn back to white again, MAC brush cleanser won't do that. ***************************************** I was using MAC brush cleanser for a while and was concerned how my brushes bristles never completely regained their clean color. Then on YouTube I saw the technique of how to use baby shampoo and OMG my brushes looked and felt like brand new after! *************************************************** HOW TO USE BABY SHAMPOO TO CLEAN YOUR BRUSHES You will need: Johnsons baby shampoo (I use the lavendar one, smells yummy), a sponge, and tissue papers 1) Soak the sponge completely under running water 2) Pour about a teaspoon of baby shampoo on the sponge and squish the sponge till it lathers 3)Take your brush, first while it's dry, rub it in the sponge back and forth like you're painting, it'll get covered in suds and you should see the color come off on the sponge 4) Rinse under water 5) Paint on your sponge again just to get any remaining product off 6) Rinse again 7) Dry extra water on the brush by a tissue 8) Leave horizontal to dry ************************************************ Your brushes will be SO clean and smell so nice, you'll feel like they've been given life back! If you feel like you can't do this very often, do it at least once a week just as a deep cleaning for your brushes!

I tend to wash my hands often, like 5 times a day, so they tend to become dry. This made my skin soft and nails seemed healthier!

Gels/Soaps -St. Ives - Mineral Therapy Body Wash
sourskittleash 12/2/2008 4:19:00 AM
I don't usually have time to use a body moisturizer after I shower so I'm very happy with this body wash: it leaves my skin clean and moisturized, and smells nice, not amazing, but nice enough. I don't get the low rating it's received here, this is my first St. Ives body wash I've tried so maybe it's not as good as the others? I will try the other St. Ives ones since this turned out so good, and I like changing my shower gel every time, but I will definitely buy this again!

Loose Powders -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bluff Dust
sourskittleash 11/28/2008 5:20:00 AM
MAC studio fix shade: NC35 MakeUp ForEver Mat+ shade: 40 MakeUp ForEver Super Matte loose powder shade: 54 Bobbi Brown Shade: 5 (Honey) ************************************************ I have patches of red on my cheeks and nose, and a general "My-face-is-on-fire" look due to sensitive skin which is oily (not a good mix!) I used to use yellow based foundation to counter the redness (like MAC or Bobbi Brown) but unfortunately my favorite foundation of all time is MakeUp ForEvers Mat Velvet+, which is AMAZING for coverage and texture but (this is the unfortunate part) it's not yellow based enough for me, so in pictures I look like I have nice pinkish skin on my face that doesn't go with my yellow tone body. I used to mix my foundation with MUFEs yellow base, but their yellow base is not the best texture so MAT+ didn't look AS good. So I searched for a yellow powder on MUA and after reading the reviews of Bluff Dust decided to try it, luckily here in Dubai I discovered we have BeneFit makeup so I purchased it despite the scary lemon yellow color! In this hot climate I prefer powder more than something in liquid form. I apply a thin layer of Bluff Dust right after moisturising, then my liquid foundation, then another layer of Bluff Dust, then my setting loose powder (Super Matte by MUFE as well) and then if I feel like it, another layer of Bluff Dust, and my skin looks an AMAZING color, no pink or redness and it looks awesome in pictures! The texture of the powder is really nice and "fluffy" in a way, and I thought it might be too light in color for my skin but it just blends right in! I also use this over my peach concealer of Bobbi Brown for my undereye circles (since you're supposed to use peach to counteract the blue tones of undereye darkness, and then a yellow on top to make it your skin color, but I don't like Bobbi Brown's yellow concealer, it becomes too much concealer) and a light layer of the BluffDust powder brightens up my concealer making my undereyes finally look like they're part of my skin! So to conclude, I LOVE BluffDust!

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Elchim 2001 Professional Blow Dryer
sourskittleash 11/22/2008 4:40:00 PM
BEST HAIRDRYER EVER! ********************************************* I have thickkkk longggg hair that reaches halfway down my back and it would take aaaaaaages to dry! We're talking like 30-40 mins! I used Remington for a while but it blew a fuse (left it switched on too long!) so I started a hunt for the best hair dryer Elchim dries my hair SUPER fast, in 10 mins, and since it's used by professional salons (I got it from a salon supply store) I can leave it on for aaaages and it makes no difference, works just as well as when I got it (a year ago) and seems to reduce frizz too! Did I mention it dries my hair reallyyy reallyyyy fast? ********************************************* OTHERS USED: Remington, Revlon, Conair, Babyliss (sorry I can't be more specific than the brand names, I've forgotten the specific models)
