I blame my old hairstylist for turning me on to this. I thought a shampoo is a shampoo..what diff can it possibly make? Boy was I wrong. I wanted to hate this when I first tried it due to its stupid high price tag. But I looove it. Love. Its rich, creamy, smells like Princess by Vera Wang and it only takes a little bit to get great lather (if u soak ur hair..just be sure its properly wet) my hair is damaged and I'm trying to grow it longer (right now its about an inch past BSL) and this makes it shiny, bouncy, happy and manageable. I was swayed temporarily by costco's dupe of this, their kirkland brand...no. absolutely no comparison, I will never stray. Pricey? God yes. Oh well though. I spend a ton on color too...so I might as well preserve it :)
Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
sosuga 6/28/2012 10:33:00 AM
I lost my original 187 and about had a heart attack. Al the dupes I tried waiting for a replacement were no where NEAR as good. Even sonia koshuk..close but not quite the same. I couldn't wait to get a new mac stippling brush, nothing else gives the airbrushed effect it does. Its pricey but I don't care. Mine sheds a bit even tho I am careful with it and clean it properly. Still...won't ever be without it again.

I really wanted to like this. As a nanoworks lover, I thought this would be a great alternative and much less $. I gave it a solid MONTH to try it and can hands-down say its CRAP. I have fine, highlighted, long hair and it just kept getting more and more limp, snarly and gross with continued use. I even did a few clarifying trtments thinking it was build up. Sure enough, I went to get a touch up with my normal hair stylist and she told me to STOP whatever it was I had changed in my routine..my hair was breaking inches off all along the crown area and that is the ONLY thing I had changed in my routine. Two days in to switching back to my usual nanoworks and its back to its soft, shiny, happy self. Worst $ I have ever spent. Set me back MONTHS of growing out my layers. I hate this product and so mad I listened to the hype.
I was very hesitant to try this because of all the reviews stating that it had an offensive scent. Once I looked at the ingredients.. it made sense: it stinks because those people have an expired product. There's an animal-derived protein in there that no doubt will go rancid after a period of time - so something to consider - this product does not have a super long shelf life. With that being said, I bought mine online (just a travel-size because sephora stopped carrying this, wtf?) and immediately sniffed it once I received it. Mine smells nice, clean and light. Definitely not something that would turn me off, which again concludes that this product will turn if not used (or has been sitting on a shelf for a long time). Buyer beware. Otherwise, I thought it worked great for the final "C" in the CWC method - gives lots of slip, detangles and feels light on my fine hair once dried. I would repurchase, provided it's not an old bottle :)
My HG of blushes: doesnt break me out, doesnt cake, lasts longer than my MAC blushes and relatively fool-proof. Color payoff is lovely, smooth and blendable application. But why is this listed as "discontinued"? If you go to the Jane cosmetics website (just google it) you can buy these directly from the manuf? True, you cannot find these easily on ebay or even at the local B&M (meijer, walgreens, walmart) however with some searching I was able to find them. Still cheap as always! I've been using these blushes for over 10 years. The shimmery ones (glow, plum, earth sheer) are a bit too juvenile for me any more, but theyre still lovely regardless. <3

I must say, this stuff is GREAT. I got a deluxe sample of it and after using it a couple of weeks I have gone ahead and bought the full size product, expensive as it may be I have found that sometimes you just have to pay for better quality. THIS IS QUALITY. I have very tempermental, acne prone skin and this HEALS existing acne, tones and minimizes fine lines and pores. LOVE IT. Thank you, Shisheido! My first product ever by this company and I adore it ♥
I love this stuff - I HATE the itching/burning that I get if I use it too soon after showering or shaving. But I only use it maybe 1x a week and it maintains just fine, so I only have to deal with that one night of itchiness. It definitely works though, especially for anyone with serious problems with sweating (mine was minimal but my old roommate would swear by this stuff and told everyone how it changed her life...so...yep). Good stuff, not really to be used AS an antiperspirant/deodorant for day time though.

HG. Definitely. Awesome milky pink color, can be streaky so be cautious. It totally filled in my nails that were butchered from acrylics being removed..I dont know about all this "age correct" nonsense, but regardless it is a fantastic product. MUA'ers, thank you for the recommendation - I love this stuff.
Hell yes I would repurchase, if I ever needed to! Thank you MUA for yet another recommendation - this stuff is the shiz. Especially for pedi's. I totally want to use this on my bf...not sure he will comply lol. It IS amazing, though!!!
Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
sosuga 1/11/2010 4:38:00 PM
This is great stuff, I havent tried other brands of Jojoba but this is cheap and easy to find so I never had a reason to. I also use EVOO...but this is a great moisturizer to use alone or in conjunction with another light moisturizer.
Moisturizers -Alpha Hydrox - Enhanced Lotion - 10% AHA
sosuga 1/11/2010 4:36:00 PM
Blech..made me break out. Not in a purging way either, because I had used AHA's with glycolic for months and this just didnt agree with me. Maybe I got a bad bottle...? I will stick to Acne.org's version.
Damn you MAC! You always discontinue my faves...argh..this is a great go-to color. I am going to have to stock pile.
I just repurchased this for the ...5th? time. I keep trying other mascaras (lash blast, plushlash, zoomlash, the XL one by maybelline, etc) and I dont know WHY because this one ultimately does what I need/want. Of course there are little things about it that aren't perfect, such as it CAN clump if you are not being careful - that sort of thing. But are any mascaras perfect?! If so, please lead me in that direction lol! Anyway, this stuff is intense black, it does a great job of adding oomph to my already ridiculously long lashes. I like that it doesnt really add length, just volume, because the lengtheners always make my lashes look spidery. This does NOT flake (for me), not lash fall out, and although the formula does not dry instantly (making the curl-holding factor iffy), if you just hold the lashes up with your finger as a prop while they dry for a few seconds it does the trick. I see pictures of myself when i wear this, as opposed to other mascaras, and I know why I keep returning to it! It freakin works!
I initially had made a mental note not to ever buy this because I saw on a dupe list that this was supposed to be the same as Milani Coral shimmer which I have used before and just ...didnt love. But the other day I was at the mac pro store and asked the SA what lippie I should get since I had a B2M redemption I dont own a lot of glosses (more of an eye makeup girl) I dont know my way around the glosses at mac. She suggested this, and it wasnt until I was in the car that I noticed which one I had just walked out with...but I am SO GLAD I didnt notice in the store or I'd have put it back - I REALLY like this stuff. I dont notice any scent at all like some say, maybe VERY subtle, but barely noticeable. Its sticky, but stays pretty well. I love how it warms up my face and makes me look done without looking over-the-top. Both with a smoky eye or natural makeup, this works. Awesome stuff. Took one lippie off because it bugs me how small the tube is, the fact that its' sticky and call me crazy but it also annoys me that the label wears off like *THAT* lol. But overall its great.
Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Vanilla Lace Silkening Body Splash
sosuga 10/18/2009 3:53:00 AM
Yummm..used to wear this in HS and forgot all about it til I was in VS the other day looking for something to exchange for the Amber embrace I got for my birthday (nice, but not for me). I picked this up and got a whiff and it was like POOF! back to when i was 15. Lots of memories. Then I had it on the day after while lounging with my boyfriend and he commented on how good it smells too. Men love vanilla so it didnt really surprise me though :) this stuff is magical. :)
