Eyes -MAC - Paint Pot in Bare Study
rated 3 of 5

This was my first paint pot & because i'd heard so many great reviews on them, i was sure i would love it. But sadly, i don't. Its such a gorgeous colour swatched, but as soon as you apply it on your eyelids & blend it, it just disappears.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

Decided to buy this as i've run out of my usual MAC Foundation & i'd heard good reviews on this & it's half the price of my MAC Foundation, so i thought i'd give it a go. PRO's: It's lightweight, i feel like no matter how much you put on, it won't ever look cakey, picking your shade is fairly easy & it's reasonably priced. CON's: Light coverage, doesn't really cover up blemishes & i wish it came with a pump because it's hard to get the product out. Overall, i think it's a good foundation in the summer because you don't want much coverage & it's lightweight. But as an everyday foundation all year round, i want something with more staying power.

Blush -NARS - Gina
rated 4 of 5

This was my first NARS blush & i've got to say the pigmentation is amazing, a little goes a long way. I've got fair skin (NW15 at MAC), & Gina just looks orange on me. I want to love this product so much, as it looks so beautiful swatched, but unfortunately it isn't for me. It will look beautiful on people with more tanned skin, as it may bring out the pink in it, but on me, it just looks orange. A high quality product & i do recommend it, but sadly, not for people with my skin tone. :(

Mascara -Maybelline - The Falsies in Black Drama
rated 1 of 5

I've heard excellent reviews on this, so i bought it & i can honestly say, it's the worst mascara i've ever tried. It's clumpy & just a black mess. Yes, it's very black, but all it did was stick my lashes together. The brush is awful as well, i found it very flimsy. I prefer the Maybelliene Colossal or One by One anyday.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - The Porefessional

I got a sample of this & it has lasted me nearly 5 months! I have combination skin & it gives my skin a smooth finish and keeps me less oily. It also covers any dry skin that i get on my nose. Although, people are complaining about the price, a little really does go a long way. I am going to purchase the full size, for sure.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost - Angel
rated 2 of 5
sophlizz 7/28/2012 5:34:00 AM

I've heard such great reviews on this lipstick, but when i put it on my lips, it looks nothing like the baby pink you see on the photos or in the packaging. Maybe it's the frost finish, but it just goes on a hot mess. I also noticed when i put lip balm under it, throughout the day it bleeds into the middle of my lips, which looks awful. I am fair skinned (NW15 at MAC) & i thought it would look lovely, but i hate it. To get the colour to go on, i almost have to blot it on & apply 10 layers of it. But when my friend tried it on, it looked lovely on her, which i guess must be down to the pigmentation of your individual lips.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Studio Careblend
rated 3 of 5
sophlizz 7/28/2012 5:23:00 AM

When i got my first MAC foundation, i asked the makeup artist if she knew a powder i could buy just to set my foundation & she gave me this one to buy. I've just run out of it & i've got to say it's nothing special. Yes, it does it's job, but i can't wait to purchase the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural because i've heard many more great things about that powder, now that i've finished my Careblend Pressed Powder. I don't really recommend it, as i would just buy the MSF Natural.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 5 of 5
sophlizz 7/28/2012 5:14:00 AM

After debating whether to get the Naked2 or the original Naked palette, i decided to go for the Naked2, as the packaging looked a lot better. I am so glad that i bought it, i love the quality of the eyeshadows & i've used every shade several times. Although, i wish there was more than 3 matte shades, i still love the metallic colours. I know many people complained about the brushes in the original Naked palette, saying they wish they had the eyeliner, i've got to say, i love the double sided brush that the palette comes with. I've got a full set of makeup brushes, but i find myself using the brush the palette comes with. I do plan on purchasing the original Naked palette soon, as the 2 palettes are completely different, but if i ever run out of the Naked2, i will buy it again.

Liquid -MAC - Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation
rated 4 of 5
sophlizz 7/28/2012 5:00:00 AM

After having a bad experience with MAC foundations, i decided to go into MAC & ask the makeup artist for some help, as i was determined to get a foundation that i would love. She recommended the new Matchmaster foundation, which is meant to match any skin tone perfectly. After buying it, i have just run out of my first bottle, which i've had for about 10 months. What i love about the foundation is that it really does match your skin, as soon as you blend it out, it just becomes the same colour of your skin. I never knew how fair skinned i was, as i have the concealer in NW15, the makeup artist matched me to the shade 1.0, which is the lightest, but like i said, it matches to your skin, so it warms up a bit and isn't so pale once it's on my skin. After reading reviews on it, here on makeup alley, many people say it's light to medium coverage, but i'd say more medium to heavy coverage, as it covers up everything on my face. I have combination skin, in which i still have to powder my face, but the foundation does help it. The only down side i have with the foundation is that, it is expensive and that sometimes it does give me dry skin, but overall, i really like it.
