This works really well for me and I have very sensitive skin, this didn't give me any breakouts, I use this day and night as I haven't yet found a night cream that agrees with my skin.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Homemade Vitamin C Serum
sophiebo88 6/16/2013 6:03:00 PM
I've only been using it for 2 days so far so I'll keep updating as I progress. my skin is terrible lately, I've got these small whiteheads under my skin that I can't squeese because they just seem to stay there without forming a head to squeeze. I tried many things including topical antibiotics from the doctor but nothing seemed to do anything for me.. After reading reviews on mua for homemade vitamin c serum I thought I'd give it a try with it being so cheap. I made my serum using asorbic acid, And some some botanics organic rose water toner (which is just glycerin, Water, Alcohol denat, rose oil and citronellol) then I added extra water. I've just ordered some vitamin e oil too, I think I'm going add that too when it arrives Anyway the first day I put it on I was out all day, when I came home I looked in the mirror and lots of those spots that had been under my skin for the longest time had surfaced, I squeezed them, washed my face, applied more serum overnight, when I woke up in the morning my skin looked really refreshed, still lots of tiny spots under the skin but its really evened out my skin tone. this evening more have surfaced, absolutely no new spots, its just purging the gunk out of my skin! my skin is looking really good so far and where I've squeezed is healing quickly

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Inspired By Carmindy Natural Beauty Your Skin Makeup ] [DISCONTINUED]
sophiebo88 6/12/2013 7:39:00 AM
This is my first day using this foundation so I'll update any changes. I got this from eBay for £5 in shade ecru beige which is perfect for my pale skin, usually I'm always the palest shade in foundations so I'm glad I didn't go for the porcelain, its a great natural/neutral shade which looks good in all lighting. I first tried it on my hand this morning and it looked super shiny, I was thinking 'great another one of those glowing foundations that sits on top of my skin and make me look like a grease pan' but then it dried into my skin so nicely looking really natural, actually looking just like skin, id say its somewhere between Matt and the shiny type...probably more on the Matt side. Then I tried it on my face bearing in mind my skin is really bad at the minute. I'd say this is medium coverage, it covers imperfections and makes my pores look really tiny/ non existing. It looks really natural, I have a few big spots that it didn't cover which I wouldn't want from a foundation anyway, I'll leave that to the concealer. If you are on a tight budget like me then you really need to try this, I've tried nearly all mua cheap foundations with good reviews and this is my favourite so far. I'll update how long it stays on later x Edit: this is now my second day, it stayed on all day yesterday looking fresh all day long. no new acne so far. Another thing I've noticed is that my skin doesn't look red and irritated when I take this off like all other foundations I've had in the past.

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
sophiebo88 6/12/2013 7:07:00 AM
It's ok, it didn't give me acne which is a plus but I feel like it just sits on top of the skin, it's really greasy, oxidises quickly, I always need powder with this but it turns the foundation cakey

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Holland & Barrett Aloe Vera Gel
sophiebo88 3/6/2013 7:56:00 AM
i was looking everywhere for a 99.9% aloe vera gel after reading about it, everywhere else i looked had lower concentrations of aloe vera and lot's of added ingredients that i didn't want such as alcohol and perfume. Then i went into Holland and Barrett where i found the 99.9% gel on offer 2 for £3.99! My skin is very problematic, mostly for acne, my skin is very sensitive to chemicals and products with big long lists of ingredients, these days i try to search for natural skin care. if you are anything like me something i've found very useful is www.cosdna.com go to ANALYZE COSMETICS at the top and copy and paste any product ingredients, it will show you what each ingredient scores for safety, acne causing, and what it scores as an irritant; 0 being the best and 5 being the worst. back to the aloe vera gel, i find it helps with redness, acne, burns, and any general problem areas, it also makes a good foundation primer, i don't think its moisturising enough to be used as a daily moisturiser though, i tried that and my skin was starting to look dehydrated so i just use it every other night to perfect my skin, and also a primer. My mum has contact dermatitus on her hand, it looked really bad and she wasn't using anything for it as every cream prescribed by the doctor just irritated it, the other week i put some of my aloe vera gel on her hand to try, it didn't irritate her at all, my mum has now purchased some too Also if you're into natural remedies i'd also recommend safflower oil for sensitive skin, great for eczema, dry skin, and unlike other oils it doesn't cause acne :)

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Egg White Mask for Acne Skin
sophiebo88 1/30/2013 4:39:00 PM
this made my skin look irritated and red raw and gave me a few really nasty pimples! it has however made me realise i might have a mild egg allergy, i always remember if i ate too much egg as a child it gave me eczema and itchy skin, though i've always been able to eat it in moderation with no problems. just a warning for anyone who has ever experienced anything after eating eggs - Don't try this!!!

Foundations -Lily Lolo - Mineral Foundation
sophiebo88 10/22/2012 4:30:00 AM
I bought this after my long search for a foundation with no bad ingredients, unlike other mineral makeup lily lolo doesn't contain anything like talc or bismuth oxychloride that can clog pores, cause acne or irritation. I'm very acne prone, every product I have ever used in the past has caused breakouts, if enyone else has the same problem im going to share a couple of websites that have really helped me, it shows you what ingredients to avoid if you have acne prone skin http://www.zerozits.com/Articles/acnedetect.htm http://www.cosdna.com/ Back to this foundation, I bought a few tester pots in shades porcelain, china doll and blondie, I really thought I'd be porcelain as I'm usually paler than all foundations palest shade! Porcelain was too pale, For me china doll was the perfect match, all the shades look really natural, not too pink not too yellow just perfect. This foundation covers redness and minor imperfections, light to medium coverage, it made my skin look great and natural, it looked like I wasn't wearIng foundation :-) though I had a few spots that you could still see but I suppose that's what the concealer is for. best of all NO BREAKOUTS! I also bought tester pots of all their other products and I really reccomend The Waikiki bronzer to use with this foundation, it gives such a healthy glow to the skin

Foundations -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Line Minimizing Makeup
sophiebo88 7/30/2012 4:22:00 AM
I bought this because the lightest shade matched my skin tone, i only ended up using it a couple of times, it doesn't stay put for long, it was oxidising after a few hours, doesn't cover very well, and made my skin beak out badly, I checked out the ingredients and it's full of irritating and acne causing ingredients

Liquid -Bourjois - 123 Perfect Foundation
sophiebo88 6/17/2012 1:42:00 AM
i bought what was the lightest shade light vanilla, usually buirjoir light vanilla in their other ranges matches my skin tone, i did test it on my skin in store and it looked ok, but when i got home in different lighting it actually looks darker and quite orange, its a shame about the colour, apart from that i'm sure it would have been a nice foundation,

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
sophiebo88 6/17/2012 1:02:00 AM
I've been using this for years, i was really gutted for a while because i thought it had been discontinued but then realised they had just changed the packaging to a bottle with a pump, its a dewy foundation, i've had light-full coverage depending on how much i apply, very buildable with layers and still super natural looking, i usually use a thin layer and then add more to areas that need it, so i can still see my freckles, i usually need to set with powder in my t-zone, my skin is combination so my t-zone can get a bit oily, its usually needs topping up with powder 1-2 times but everywhere else i like to leave looking dewy, it also looks good in photos (i'll add a pic for you) most foundations make me brake out in spots but i find rimmel products always work great with my skin, only down side is the lightest shade isn't that light and i have really pale skin so it only matches my skin tone in the summer or when i wear fake tan

Self Tanners -Unlisted Brand - St. Moriz Self Tanner Foam
sophiebo88 6/19/2011 3:13:00 AM
I thught i'd give this product a try, with such rave review's and at such a cheap price, why not? I put this product on last night but i'm sorry to say it's not for me!! pros - tone of colour is quite natual, doesn't smell too bad cons - you'll need a tan mit as this instantly stains the hands, i've tried everything to get it off; dove soap worked the best but they're still a little stained around my nails! It's really difficult to blend into the skin, i think it dries too quickly. It instantly darkens any dry skin, scratches, acne etc. for me it's gone streaky everywhere, and i dont really look much darker. I'll give it another try with a tan mit to see if that makes much differance, if so i'll do an update this but i think i'll most probably be sticking to my favourite L'Oreal SUBLIME BRONZE Self-Tanning Gel for Face and Body

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - SUBLIME BRONZE Self-Tanning Gel for Face and Body
sophiebo88 6/10/2011 5:26:00 AM
This is the stuff i always come back to, I even used it for my wedding as you can see in the picture i added for this product. I'm usually ghostly pale, this gives me a pretty good natural tan. I much prefer this to the other subline bronze (the tinted one) only because i can't use the other one on my face, it looks terribly patchy! with this one I use it on my face and body, like most fake tans it does smell a bit and can go wrong if not applied correctly. I always put it on the night before any event so i can shower it off the next morning, otherwise i smell and it makes my face look greasy! It's not perfect; only looks good on my skin for a coulple of days and after that it goes patchy..but they all seem to do that on my skin.. It's the the best lower end fake tan i've tried and i'm not prepered to spend lots of money on trying any high end brands :)

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Panoxyl Antibacterial Acne Aquagel 5%
sophiebo88 6/9/2011 7:08:00 PM
I LOVE this acne treatment! I had a terrible case of acne a few years ago, i was getting huge new spots everyday, my entire face was covered, it was just way out of control! My doctor started me on 5% panoxyl along with some anti-biotics. He said that it's best to start off with 5% and when your skin sort of becomes immune to that percentage to go upto 10%... It took 2 months to clear up the worst case of acne ive ever had and it also cleared all scaring. I'ts like a mild chemical peel, your skin gets a little red, dry, and peels a little, don't be alarmed when i say it peels, i'ts not noticible to others but you'll know what i mean when you wash your face; you'll scrub away lots of dry dead skin! I notice the person below that gave a bad review has not understood this product properly, for this product to be effective you need to use quite a lot and often, you need to let it totally dry out your skin, it may irritate and be red at first but your skin gets used to it, if not you shoud start on 2.5% but thats how this product works so well, like i said its like a mini chemical peel :) everytime my acne comes back i run to the chemist for this stuff! whenever i get a bad breakout this is what works best for me- i put panoxyl on twice a day after i've washed my face, always leaving it on over night, i put it on the entire face and not just on the spots, i try not to wear any makeup, usually gone within a couple of weeks :) once my acne has cleared and i get an occasional whitehead, i squeeze it, wash my face and then put panoxyl over the spot, sorted! :)
