Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
soleil91 12/31/2012 10:38:00 PM
This foundation has a very watery, thin texture, but has buildable light-to-heavy coverage. It glides on smoothly and is also very natural looking and controls oil quite decently. If you're a fair-med asian girl like me that has always had trouble finding the PERFECT shade of foundation (Always too pink or orange...) then 3.0 is the ABSOLUTE DREAM shade for you. The color is just spot on- a tiny bit brightening but not in an ashy or pink way at all... just glowing and better-than-skin kind of effect. But don't get me wrong, it's not oily or shimmery at all, and dries quite matte as well. I have totally oily skin, and this gives me a non-shiny, natural finish. However, it WILL emphasize every flake and dry patch on your face, even if it's super minimal. Also, the foundation smells REALLY chemically... At first, when i got the sample to try it out, I thought I had perhaps gotten a bad batch or maybe that the sample was really old. However, when I bought it I realized that the foundation just naturally smells suuuper chemically. I'm not usually that sensitive with smells or anything (quite tolerant/ don't care) but this really has a very strong smell that I quite deteste.. Luckily, because the foundation is in a pump and only dispenses a little bit at a time, it doesn't smell TOO bad every time you use it. But it may really annoy those with sensitive noses! -Breakdown- Pros: - Pump is hygienic - Sleek, modern packaging <3 - PERFECT shade (asian 3.0) - Great semi-matte finish - Doesn't get too oily - Glides on beautifully & smoothly - Buildable light-med-heavy coverage Cons: - Smells SUPER chemically :( - Expensive - Emphasizes dryness & flakes

Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - ALL MAT Matifying Base
soleil91 4/5/2010 6:38:00 PM
Absolute worst primer I've ever used :( I've heard about a lot of people breaking out from this (must be something horrendous in the formula...) but I decided to try it anyway. Anything to control the oil, right? Well, I have oily/combination skin, and this actually made my lower jawline flake really irritated/very very flaky!!! This is the first time anything has irritated my skin or made me flaky (which never happens, because I'm super oily!). Very very disappointed, threw out after two uses. This didn't even control any oil, my MAC prep&prime was much much more effective. Face is now back to normal, and i'll never touch this product ever again...

BB Cream -Dr. Jart+ - Rejuvenating Silver Label BB Cream SPF 30
soleil91 2/20/2010 2:39:00 AM
I've used this for around a year now, and it's excellent. The coverage is full, like a heavy-duty foundation, but the results are very natural. However, if not applied properly, the bb cream can seem cakey, because it is very thick and rich, so you need to make sure to only put on a minimal amount. If you put too much on, it WILL get oilier faster and look more cakey, so be careful! But overall, great product. I don't know if i'll be purchasing it again, because it DOES have a pinkish/ashy tone to it and i'm more of a light beige/yellow undertones, so it does clash quite a bit with my neck (natural skin color) in natural lighting... looks very pink/ashy. But, indoors, it looks fantastic... I've gotten compliments on my skin while wearing this (of course indoors haha..) Staying power is okay, depends on how oily you are. I'm VERY oily, so by the end of the day the stuff is basically smearing if i touch my face- but, that's without any blotting. Blot and you will be fine- and it's better than most foundations in many aspects anyway, i've had so many foundations cake disgustingly or just disappear completely from my face. It does smooth out the face and whatnot, it's a very good product. I know it's a korean brand- however, because of its pink undertones, I think it'd be best for fair-skinned caucasians. I probably won't be purchasing again, but that's just because of the color clash- if it came in my exact color, i'd swoon and die of happiness. Also- the original product from the original Korean site for Dr. Jart is $27 USD, so if you hear anything about it being $14 or anything cheaper than $27, especially on sites like ebay- it's most likely too good to be true, I suggest you don't get it, you don't know where that's from. :)

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Sunset Glow
soleil91 2/12/2010 11:49:00 AM
I loveee this blush! Gives your face a beautiful, sunkissed glow with a hint of sparkle. It's not SUPER pigmented or anything (like my R&R blush!) But, it's still quite pigmented and stays put throughout the day. I sometimes contour my face with it, it looks beauuutiful. :) It also helps that Sunset Glow is the title of my favourite song, haha :D <333

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #2
soleil91 2/12/2010 11:46:00 AM
Best. stuff. EVER. I can't rave enough about this product. I use it every night before I go to sleep- I'm on my 4th (? i think) bottle of this product. After I wash my face with my makeup remover and everything- i swipe my face with a cotton pad with this toner on it. And voila! you see all the leftover makeup/dirt bits that weren't washed off by the makeup remover/cleanser- even after you scrubbed hard! This toner takes off all excess dirt/makeup off your face, and also leaves it feeling sparkling clean with a fresh minty feel to it. It feels like when you chew spearmint gum and then take in a fresh breath of air. Yes. exactly that feeling. :) I will buy this over&over again!

Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
soleil91 2/12/2010 11:41:00 AM
Doesn't have great coverage, and I've used a lot of clinique foundations (..more than 5?) and they were always, always WAY too pink. I looked like a raw-faced monster in natural lighting with the color match they always gave me. :( I say it's just your average foundation (just a so-so, drugstore-quality like), not that great, not that bad. And always too pink...

Foundations -Elizabeth Arden - Intervene
soleil91 2/12/2010 11:38:00 AM
This is a GREAT foundation, I found it to be one of the best i've ever used. It has moderate coverage that looks flawlessly natural (my mom commented on how nice my "natural" skin was while i was wearing it... lol!) that stays pretty much put throughout the day. My only complaint is that it doesn't come in that many colors/shades, because as much as I love this product, the best shade for me is still too pink. But other than that- fabulous :)

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50
soleil91 2/12/2010 11:34:00 AM
Worst primer ever, UGH! It's super oily, so if you have oily skin, don't even consider it. It's very heavy and rich- and takes forever to absorb into the skin. After I put this on, i look oilier than ever, and feel like i have some kind of a heavy oil mask on my face all day. I say opt for something lighter and more effective.

Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer in 0 Neutral
soleil91 2/12/2010 11:31:00 AM
I bought this primer after reading a million rave reviews. However, I didn't find it to be worth my money. First of all, I didn't even see a difference with/without it on my face, and my foundations melted off my face by the end of the day, regardless of whether i was wearing this primer or not. So, whats the point? Secondly, i found that WITH the primer, my face looked grosser by the end of the day than without, and actually got oilier. I really like the gel consistency and the speed with which it dries on the face. However, it didn't do anything for me (other than make me look bad) and I will not be purchasing this product again.

Primer/ Corrector -Lise Watier - Portfolio

This product would be good if you have dry skin. However... I have oily skin, and this product cakes on unless you prep it before you put it on. Who has that much time in the morning? Keep in mind that this concealer is oil-based, so definitely not for oilly people (I didn't think twice when I bought it...). Also, it looks pretty good when you first put it on- but, throughout the day, it separates (into a disgusting mess) and smears on the face, and I look like crap by the end of the day- so much that i look better after I take it off. But, it also depends on where you live- I live in Canada, which is very very dry. When I went to Baltimore, MD (very humid), I used this and it was perfectly fine, lasting throughout the day.

Primer/ Corrector -Givenchy - Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer
soleil91 2/10/2010 11:47:00 AM
UGH. I'm usually very oily by the end of the day- and with this product, I was SUPER oily. My makeup slid off, and my face was red&blotchy&disgusting. most of my foundation was gone, as with my concealer. Very disappointed.. I even look better WITHOUT any primer than wearing this. It goes on smooth, glides on like a light gel and feels great when you first put it on- but the results... very, very disappointing. I have no idea why this is even called Mattifying primer.

Treatments -Laneige - Laneige Strawberry Soft Peeling Gel
soleil91 2/10/2010 11:42:00 AM
Great item!!! It's not harsh on your skin at all, it's a great soft exfoliator that smells GREAT (really, smells like delicious strawberry yogurt) and my face feels like a baby's after i use it. Really gets rid of your deadskin without the scrubbing and the redness. Lasts long, had it for almost a year now :) my HG exfoliator. Get it :)
