I got this as a present, and I can't say I fell in love with it!.. I does what it promises when it comes to removing make-up, but it leaves a really fat residue on my skin afterwards. I don't really like that. Also, I find the smell a little weird, too.
Polishes -Chanel - Le Vernis Nail Colour in Paradoxal #509
soetnos 9/10/2010 1:55:00 PM
Oh! I wanted this one so much ever since I saw it on the promo pictures! The color is so unique and hard to define, yet it's very flattering for fair skintones. I can see how it will nicely go with autumn coats, scarfs, leather and so on. This polish makes you look sophisticated, interesting and fashionable, but even though it's very trendy, it's quite grown up and you need good confidence to pull it off. I'm curious to see if there'll be any dupes for this color, since I'm convinced that is hard to copy it.
Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Smooth Operator Smoothing Lustre Lotion

I really wanted to like this product after reading the reviews here. I bought it at the closest supermarket for about 6 euros, and at first I was quite satisfied. I didn't notice any more luster than usual, but my wavy hair seemed to behave better with this product in it than without it. But now... I don't like it at all! I don't like the smell (thank god it doesn't have any lasting power!), I don't like the look and the clumsiness of the bottle, the stupid charm on it... Although the worst thing about it is how it weights down my hair! My hair starts looking greasy on the second day, which is very unusual for me. It took me a while to realize that it's because of this product. It makes me wash my hair every morning, which is really drying. My boyfriend likes using it a lot, though. I guess this is why I haven't tossed the bottle yet.
Concealers -Everyday Minerals - lavender concealer

I must say I really like this product! I use it with my regular powder brush all over my face, just like a powder. It doesn't mattify the shiness, but it evens out my slightly yellowish complexion, much better than, say, Complexion Perfection by ELF. It's finelly milled and feels almost creamy when you touch it. The only downside of it, in my opinion, is the packaging, which looks really boring and cheap. This is why I took off one lippie - I wouldn't like to take out this plain white container in public, if I needed to refresh my make up! I must also say that I was really surprised to see how many people on MUA complain about EDM's customer service! I actually had a problem with this powder, because when I opened the package it came in, I discovered the lid was a little bit open and some of the powder came out in the envelope. Although the product itself was pretty undamaged and usable. But still, I emailed EDM about this (I also attached a picture), and they sent me another fullsize of the lavender corrector for free as a replacement! I was really pleased! Simple moves like this create happy customers and make them purchase more from the same company. As I did.
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Hemp Hand Protector
soetnos 5/26/2010 7:34:00 AM
I'm on my second tube of this cream, although both of the times I got it as a present from my boyfriend, so I didn't buy it volonteerily. I always have tubes of different hand moisturizers lying around in my apartment, because I reach for a hand cream several times a day. I actually like this product quite a lot, it's rich and moisturizing, and it doesn't leave any film on my hands. You have to get used to the smell, I don't really know if this is actually what hemp smells like, but I would call the smell very organic. I find that this hand protector works best as a night time moisturizer or during the winter. I also enjoy the look of the tube, which is nice and old-fashioned, but I hate the screw on lid. It always takes me a while to close the tube. All in all I hope I'll get another tube of this when it finishes, but right now I'm quite curious to try the hemp lip balm from the same collection. I hear it's very effective.
I got this as a present from a friend, who always gives me Lush products. At first I was very excited to try this mask, but when I did the disappointment was huge! I hate everything about it - the smell, the look of it, the texture, the result! I couldn't wash it out of my hair, afterwards there were still some junks stuck in there. When I brushed them out my hair wasn't looking better than usual, and I'm being nice. And the smell of it!.. I don't know. I don't mean to offend the fans of this treatment, but this product just isn't for me. I wouldn't ever buy it again.
Tinted Moisturizer -Paula's Choice - Barely There Sheer Matte Tint SPF 20
soetnos 5/25/2010 6:02:00 PM
I got this in Sheer Ivory after reading the reviews on MUA. I can't say I'm very pleased with this TM, since I almost don't notice it on my skin. It actually IS barely there. It doesn't even out my complexion, and I don't think the color match is that good either. The good thing about it is that it provides some moisture to my skin and that the physical sunscreen is pretty decent at spf 20. So sometimes I just use it as a regular sunscreen or on my good-skin days as a TM. Now that I have discovered ELF's tinted moisturizer at a much lower price and with much better qualities, I don't think I will ever go back to this one again.
Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Candy Shop Lip Gloss in Cherry Bomb
soetnos 5/25/2010 4:11:00 PM
I like the tint this product gives to my lips, it makes them look nicely bitten and not too overdone. I use a lip brush with this gloss, so I have no problem with the packaging. I like the smell too. But the best thing that I have discovered with this gloss is that it works beautifully as a cream blush! I apply it with a brush and then simply dub my fingers on my cheeks to make it look more natural. I couldn't believe how pretty it came out the first time I tried it! I put it on my cheeks and lips to make my look nicely coordinated.
I like the color of this polish and the staying power is incredible too (it lasted 6 days on my nails!). Although I don't think I would have chosen it among all the OPI polishes (this was my first one) if I hadn't read all the rave reviews, I don't regret buying it at all. It looks cool and funky on short nails, but I would not recommend wearing it on long nails, since it can be too much. The brush is nice and wide, which makes it easy to apply. The color looks quite purple in the daylight and almost black in artificial yellow light. The only downside of it for me is that I don't find myself reaching for it so often. I would probably not buy it again if I lost it.
I love the book this eyeshadow is named after and the shade looked nice on the website. So I ordered a sample of this and was surprised to see that it comes in the same kind of container as EM's foundation samples, which is pretty generous. The color is deep blue with a little shimmer. It's not really dark, but it is definitely on the darker side. It's not bright, I'd say it's sort of dusty and velvety, which brings you back to the end of the 19th century, when "Anna Karenina" was written. The quality is good and so is the color pay-off. I'd say buy it!
I like Pupa. It's a fun Italian brand, which makes many limited edition items at resonable prices. I got this blush (07) as a present from my mum about two years ago. It's a soft pink color with brownish swirls in it. It has a subtle shimmer but you can barely see it on the skin. The finish is more satin than shimmery. When I first saw it I was a little sceptical ( I had never used blush back then), but as the days went by, I liked it more and more. That's when I understood what a huge difference a little blush can make. Since then I bought quite a few blushes myself, both HE and DS, but it has never been the same. This one makes me look so fresh and rested, and radiant! This is the one that I almost always choose before my other blushes and it follows me on all my trips and vacantions. I have been using it almost every day since I got it two years ago, but it still looks like new, I wonder if it will ever finish.
Palettes -Christian Dior - 5 Colour Eyeshadow - Coquette 743
soetnos 5/25/2010 8:11:00 AM
I love limited edition items in make up, and when I saw this collection I knew I had to have something. It's made beautifully, the appearance reminds me of vintage laces. The colors go very well with each other and with my dark brown eyes. The purple shade makes my eyes pop, but I also love the pale pink and the taupe. I also find that Dior makes the most beautiful gray shadows, like the one in this palette. The biggest disappointment is the center color, which has many large glitter particles in it! This color is hard to apply and almost immediately all the glitter ends up on my cheeks and nose. I'm also not fond about the Dior quint packaging, since I prefer packaging with no applicators (and therefore no room for applicators). I only use my make up brushes anyway and I think that the packaging is unnesessary large for 6 grams of eyeshadow.
Cleansers -Vichy - Purete Thermale Demaquillant Integral One Step Cleanser 3in1
soetnos 5/25/2010 7:41:00 AM
This is my favorite cleanser! I have repurchased it so many times, I can't even remember. Every time it finishes I cut the tube open to get what's left of the product. The texture of this product is kind of slippery, so you don't need a lot of it to cover your face. I use it at night to take off my make up before I use a foaming cleanser. And also I use it every morning as a regular cleanser, because then I don't need any heavy duty cleanser and this one doesn't strip my skin. The price is pretty steep at 13 euros (in Sweden) but it's worth it. It goes wonderfully with my Clarisonic!
