Cleansers -LUSH - Angels on Bare Skin
rated 4 of 5

I bought this product 2 weeks ago not really expecting it to make any major change to my skin. Well, I've been using it everyday and my skin is not only softer, but it's more luminous. It isn't oily, but my skin has a natural and healthy glow. I used to scrub my face every other day and I'd still have flakes, but since using this product my skin is softer and smoother. It is not only soft to the touch, but by looking in the mirror my skin really does look smooth and even. The only thing I can;t stand about this product is how annoying it is to use. The consistency is like dried up putty that brittles because there is more moisture left. I feel like I waste a lot of product because I can never properly gage how much I will actually need. Besides the consistency of it, it is a fantastic cleanser and really balances out my combo/dry- combo/oily skin. I personally think you should buy it and split it between a few people or ask for a sample if you don;t feel like splurging at first.

Blush -NARS - Danmari "all about cheeks" palette
rated 3 of 5
soclutch 12/6/2011 5:20:00 PM

This is a great palette for just about any makeup lover and especially great for those like myself who are looking for a palette to reduce their kit size. It comes in 6 shades which are hungry heart (highlighter), casino (bronzer), orgasm, super orgasm, desire an sin. As a palette in general it truly is geared toward those in the olive skin range. The highlighter hungry heart is kind of a gold glitter that I probably would have substituted with albatross. Casino is a bronzer catered to those with medium to dark skin, but I actually prefer casino as a bronzer/contour shade because it can be applied to fair skin IF you use it with a light hand. Sin and Desire are two shades which look better on medium skin as well. The only two shades that are universal are orgasm and super orgasm, but why put both shades in the same palette? It is a little redundant. With that said, for those who are a medium skin tone, this palette is truly great. I have a feeling I'll be burning through casino and orgasm way before I even make a dent in the other colors, but for MUA, just being able to to take out 5 or 6 cheek colors out of my kit and replacing it with one item not only saves space, but it also saves time. I love the nars packaging because of how sleek it looks, but it is so time consuming to go through each individual item just to check the label on it. A palette like this is a great thing to have. The size of the pans in tis palette are alo very generous with almost 75% of a full product. While this review does seem negative, I do really like this palette. I just think that NARS should have released a palette geared toward fair skin as well, and while we are at it maybe introduce new colors and expand the line to include really dark african american skin. Overall, it is a great product, but its leaves out a significant amount of its consumers

Loose Powders -Ben Nye - Neutral Set translucent powder
rated 5 of 5
soclutch 10/22/2011 12:02:00 PM

Love this.. works for every skin color because it is so finely milled. The only downfall is the packaging. I can't even tell u the amount of times I have dropped the entire container on the floor, but it puts other setting powders (mac, mufe, la mer, etc) to shame. This is the best stuff. It is in my kit and I know so many other artists who opt for this instead of the pricier stuff. If anything, just try it. The worst thing that could happen is that you don't like it, and if that's the case you can mail it to me! lol

Makeup Brushes -Cinema Secrets - Brush Cleaner
rated 4 of 5

Its fumes are probably bad for you, its scent is disgusting, but the bottom line is that it works. My brushes have never been so clean in my life. My powder brushes even dry in under 5 minutes with this product. I say use cautiously.. as someone else stated below i do believe the ingredient did have an intentional misspelling.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Embryolisse

I love this cream. I think it is a little too heavy for day wear.. even on the dryest of skins, but I do like it as an overnight cream. I know a lot of MUA use this (myself included), but I use it very lightly because a little goes a looong way. You owe it to yourself to at least try it. If you hate i then use it as a hand cream.

Hands down my all time favorite perfume, but I wish I could change the perfume dispenser since it isn't very good. The packaging is really beautiful and the scent is perfect for a night out.

Fragrances -Diesel - Green
rated 4 of 5
soclutch 7/8/2011 7:17:00 AM

I think the reason why people hate the smell of Green is because it doesn't work with your body chemistry. I remember always wearing this perfume and receiving so many compliments and my friend wore it one day and it smelled really sour on her. If you don't like this perfume that is fine, but it really is true about certain smells working with your body chemistry. For example: I love jo malone white jasmine, but it smells really sour and awful on my skin and smells wonderful and floral on others. Unfortunately for me...this perfume was discontinued by diesel. I still have a full bottle that I've had for a few years and it still retained its smell and didn't spoil the way some scents do. If you like the smell then I suggest buying on ebay.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Whoosh Shower Jelly
rated 4 of 5
soclutch 6/11/2011 4:14:00 PM

I love this. I usually use it after the gym because the scent is so lemony and clean smelling. To use this product you really do need to break off little pieces and mush them into your loofah because it is impossible any other way. Really great product and it lathers really well.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Vanilla Birthday Cake 3-in-1

I too received this product from Sephora for free (beauty insider day gift). I actually do like this product because it isn't an overwhelming scent and it lathers well. Will it be replacing my bath and body works shower gels? Probably not, but I will occasionally buy this product because it smells so yummy

Get the 16C lipliner to go with this lipstick and make sure to line and fill in the entire lip. I promise you that the color will not budge. Great lipstick & I received so many compliments wearing it.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Diamond 'Lil
rated 5 of 5
soclutch 5/14/2011 2:52:00 PM

I bought this product solely because I broke my MAC Smoke & Diamonds e/s when it fell on the floor. Since S&D was LE I started looking for dupes and thanks to google, I found Diamond Lil. I bought this product not expecting it to be better, but it honestly is. I wish I knew about this before S&D because I would have bought this instead. The pan is bigger and the formula is creamier and smoother than MAC's. The color payoff is phenomenal as well. It's a really beautiful shades and is pretty unique color. Also, it is part of the permanent line so just in case i break another e/s (which I probably will) it is nice to know that this e/s will always be available.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Brousse Duo
rated 4 of 5
soclutch 5/2/2011 9:22:00 PM

I bought two e/s duo's from NARS and I wasn't sure which one I was keeping for myself and which one was going to end up being a gift. I ended up keeping Brousse and I thought I made a mistake. So thinking I wasn't going to get much use out of it (because it looks a little intense for fair skin) I decided to spend an hour trying out different looks with it. It is definitely more of a night shade for me seeing as its really too intense for the day, but I really do like this shade a lot. It kind of does give that "bruised" eye look, but a pretty bruised eye? If that even makes sense. It's a color I really like for myself, but I can't see this being a color for people who have little experience with makeup...especially on fair skin. The color payoff is good, but its a little difficult to blend, but I enjoy the color a lot. I like intense smoky eyes, but I avoid black for the most park, so the purpley/black shade was a great alternative. It's also very versatile. I recommend trying this before purchasing it. I think it's a great shadow duo, but we all have different tastes.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream
rated 1 of 5
soclutch 4/14/2011 1:37:00 AM

I too broke out very badly from this product. I was hoping to switch over from my normal moisturizer (dr. nicholas perricone super hyper hydrator) which costs about $40 to something a little friendlier on my wallet. I am so mad because I really wanted this product to work. On the plus side it does smell lovely, but it never fully absorbed into my skin and it left a film on top.

Treatments (Eye) -L'Oreal - Lash Boosting Serum
rated 4 of 5
soclutch 3/19/2011 1:59:00 AM

I didn't notice a change in the length of my lashes, but this product made them really lush and thick. I will be buying this product again simply because I really enjoy dense and full lashes.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Eye Pencil 15 Year Anniversary Collection
rated 4 of 5
soclutch 1/20/2011 12:42:00 PM

I wasn't familiar with UD liners seeing as I'm predominantly a MAC liner person, but I ordered this set anyway because my friend swears by how smooth the liners glide on and how long they last. I have to say that after purchasing them I am impressed and really happy I did. Yes, its about $100 after taxes (in NYC) to buy this, but it really is a steal for 15 high quality liners. The price is about $6.50 per liner which is about the same price as drug store makeup. You might as well splurge and get this set instead. My only complaint is that since most of these liners have some sort of shimmer or glitter in them that they probably aren't waterline safe....Oh and the packaging smells like poison, seriously. Take the liners and the sharpener out of the box and throw the packaging away. Besides the packaging this set is great.
