Toners -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Toner

I tried this toner for a week, wanting to find a less expensive alternative to my Clinique Clarifying Lotion #2 staple. Well, the first couple of days my skin looked great. By day 7, my skin went on the fritz and blemishes started popping up everywhere. So I d/c use immediately. Too bad, I really wanted to like this one. Maybe I will give it another try later after I have rehabilitated my poor skin, and alternate it with the Clinique. The hydroxy acids might just be too much all at once. On a side note, I like that it contains no added colors, but wish it were fragrance-free too.

Treatments (Eye) -StriVectin - SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles

This review is for the SD eye cream, NOT the 360 TL. I have been using this for a little over 2 years, repurchased it several times. I have tried many eye creams over the years and this is hands down the best I have used so far. It's no miracle cream, but it has definitely made my undereye area more resilient to laugh lines, etc and adequately moisturizes as well. I didn't start out with any lines and still don't have any (I believe thanks to this eye cream!). IMO, you have to give this one time (like most anti-aging products). You won't see any major improvements after 2 weeks or 2 months. Stick with it if you can tolerate the niacin. Also, a little goes a long way. No need to slather it on. The price may seem a bit steep at $65, but keep in mind this is DOUBLE the size of other eyecreams. They also sell it in a small 7 ml trial size (which I just discovered). The packaging is a tube that stands on its cap, which is more sanitary than the little pots some creams come in. I love this cream!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Juice Organics - Brightening Serum

This product is quite similar both in formulation and results as Juice Beauty's Anti-Oxidant Serum. It mixes peptides with AHA and BHA, which seem to irritate the skin when used in combination (no breakouts, just irritated bumps). Plus a lot of seemingly good ingredients but not high enough of a concentration for any of them to be truly effective. The pump is awful - you can't even get the product out of the bottle. Not impressed at all.

Treatments -Juice Beauty - Antioxidant Serum

Based on the ingredients, this should have been a really good product. But maybe it's too much of a good thing. Although I like the texture and the packaging (a dropper bottle), I ended up with small bumps on my forehead. At first I didn't attribute the bumps to this product and kept using it for quite a while. Then I stopped using it and the bumps went away. I think that there are too many ingredients in this product and not enough of any of them. Most of the really good anti-oxidants are too far down the ingredient list, so they're not present in high enough of a concentration to even be effective. Plus it has AHA and BHA and peptides, which I think can be too irritating for some people when used in combination. The product size and price are ok, but I will not purchase this again.

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum - Fragrance Free
rated 2 of 5

Like many others, I really wanted to like this product. Alas, it is not to be... I have tried this product twice now in 3 months and each time my skin reacts with little angry red bumps. It seems to make the skin feel really nice upon the first application, but subsequently the skin gets irritated. The texture is also a bit heavy on the silicone. Good price and packaging for a serum, though. Sadly, I have never been able to tolerate Olay products on my skin (although I keep hoping that one day they will develop something that I can actually use). There must be a signature ingredient they use in all their products that my skin absolutely abhorrs. When will I learn??

Conditioner -Redken - Fresh Curls Conditioner
rated 1 of 5

I used to LOVE this conditioner (5 stars!). It was the best on the market for curly/wavy hair..... UNTIL they changed the formulation sometime last year. Now, not only does it not work anymore, but the consistency is all wrong for a good conditioner for thick hair. The old formulation was nice and thick with a heavenly coconut scent. The new formulation is too liquid and smells funny and doesn't moisturize well at all. Too bad. I wish they would change it back to the original formulation.
