Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Professional The One Sweep Eyeshadow

Yes, I fell for it. It's a great concept and it would be wonderful if it worked like you hope. I knew it would be too good to be true, but my cousin bought 2 of these and I just had to try hers because she actually likes them. The eyeshadow colors are pretty decent quality and pigmented. A few days later I bought myself one since I had a coupon. First, the applicator is too big for me and I can only see the liner color on my eye. I would get the same effect just taking a regular eyeshadow and sweeping it from my lashline to crease. Second, when you're sweeping that huge thing over your eye it starts at the inner corner of your eye and then fades out to the outter corner. I prefer darker on the OUTTER corner and lighter towards the inner. I looked like someone gave me a black eye. O.o It was more of a mess that I had to fix than a time-saving product. Anyway, like I said the colors are nice so not a total loss and I can still use it minus the applicator. I most likely wouldn't buy again since it was pricey and the concept just didn't work.

Lip Treatments -Avon - Avon Dew Kiss Lip Dew
rated 5 of 5

Love this! The only Avon product I use. It's very moisturizing and I like the rose scent it has. It gives my lips a bit of a pink/rose tint, kinda similar to cherry chapstick but Dew Kiss is shinier and more moisturizing. I always have back-ups of these.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche in True Red
rated 5 of 5

My very first red lipstick and I LOVE it!! I normally like a very natural look, but wanted to try a red lipstick without spending too much on one. I was recommended the Revlon Really Red on the makeup board, but it was sold out at the store and I'm really not a fan of Revlon's lipsticks. So I went over to my loyal L'Oreal and found this one. I looked at Drumbeat Red which was slightly orange and British Red which was loud and bright but True Red seemed perfect. I couldn't wait to get home and try it on. It's so pretty, not too red but defiantly red... no orange or fuchsia tones either. Perfect color and feels good on, not drying at all. It isn't matte, but doesn't have shimmer either. Just a creamy "True Red". I can't wait to wear it out! I'm fair skinned with blue eyes and brown hair. :)

Foundations -Unlisted Brand - Faerie Organic Mineral Makeup
rated 1 of 5

I ordered samples in the airbrush and max coverage foundations and thank goodness I didn't buy the full size. I asked a girl on here what makeup she used because her skin was just breathtaking and this the brand she was using. Glad it worked so well for her, but no dice for me. I tested the samples a few times and when the makeup was on my skin it was beautiful but when I washed it off I had tons of huge HIVES. It also left a small burn mark on my jawline! :-( I've never had this happen with any other makeup product. It took my skin about 2 weeks to get better. I have used Aromaleigh's Pure Powder in the past with no problems. I also sampled BE, but it was way too shiny for me to really give it a chance. If you do want to try Faerie Organics, get samples first. Overall I do not recommend.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Belli Acne Clearing Facial Wash

So far so good. I have been using Proactiv for 11yrs and felt it stopped working for me recently. Plus I am getting older and want to use something that is more gentle. My husband and I are trying to have a baby too and I knew I'd have to stop the Proactiv anyway, so I thought I'd give this a shot now. I have only used this twice so far, but I figured I'd write a review because even after only 2 uses it has cleared up some old red marks on my cheeks that I had for months. So I am very happy, even my Proactiv wasn't doing that. My skin is very oily and this hasn't dried me out (I wish it would a little--which is why I took off 1 lippie). Every time I used a cleanser with Salicylic acid my skin would get very dry and flake off. Salicylic acid was more drying to me than Benzoyl peroxide. I also bought the Lactisen Gel 2% from Garden of Wisdom so I have been using them together. I use the Lactisen at night before bed after I wash my face. So far this routine has been working for me, I hope it continues to get even better!

Lipstick -Merle Norman - Luxiva Lip Glaze in I'm Peachless
rated 4 of 5
snyder 6/17/2009 12:14:00 PM

This color is very light, but it looks and feels nice. It's very glossy looking without the sticky gloss feel. It just gives my lips a hint of peach color with nice shine. It's a very fool-proof color that goes with anything. I'm not sure I'd buy it again though since it was expensive ($20). The SA at MN recommended this color to me since it goes well with the blush I bought for summer (I bought Razzle Dazzle-which I love) and they do go nice together.

Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Deep Cleansing Cream with Soap Bark and Chamomile
rated 2 of 5
snyder 6/8/2009 2:14:00 PM

Didn't work as great as I hoped. It would be a good product for someone with dry skin that has no problems with breakouts. It left my skin feeling like there was a film on it and my skin got oily more quickly then usual. I gave it to my DH since he has pretty normal skin. It was a little pricey for a ho-hum product as well ($8). I went back to my Neutrogena.

Powder -Merle Norman - Luxiva Ultra Powder Foundation
rated 5 of 5
snyder 6/5/2009 6:04:00 PM

I LOVE this foundation! LOVE! I was matched with the color Ultra Golden which is great for me, although I think I might need a lighter color come winter. My mother who could give a crap about makeup even noticed how nice the color matched me and that it looked so natural. I have oily skin and have always wanted a powder foundation but was never able to find one that kept my oil at bay. I tried BE, MAC StudioFix, some EL one.. just to name a few. I've had this on for 6 hours now, with not one touchup. It feels and looks really nice. I use a primer, use concealer where needed, sponge this on lightly then lightly dust some loose powder over it (I use Maybelline Shine Free Loose in Medium). Then for touchups I blot with some Aveda Toning Mist (spritz on a kleen-ex and blot over face) and then use MAC Blot. I do that routine with any foundation. But this is so quick and easy to apply and it's so much more comfortable then a liquid. I'll never go back or use anything else...I LOVE it! Oh, and after my mom saw it (we were at lunch together) she made me go back to the MN store and she got color matched and bought a foundation! She bought a liquid though since she has dry skin, but she loves it. :) She even bought a lipstick too....not very usual of her.

Blush -Merle Norman - Luxiva Lasting Cheekcolor - Razzle Dazzle
rated 5 of 5
snyder 6/5/2009 5:51:00 PM

This is the color I was matched with at the Merle Norman store and I love it! The other reviewers gave a great color description, so I won't do that. It is a beautiful summer color. I hate the packaging though. I never use the brush it comes with, I wish it was packaged like MAC blushes. But I would buy it again since it's the best blush color I've ever seen on me. She also put the matching Razzle Dazzle lipgloss on me, but I didn't buy it because I felt it was a bit too frosty/gold but I loved the blush.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss Of Flavor Passionfruit
rated 3 of 5
snyder 9/23/2008 10:17:00 PM

I had high hopes for this since I love my Labello Rose and wanted to try this one. The packaging is the same as Labello and it goes on the same and moisturizes the same. But I was hoping for more color payoff. The color is a sheer pinky/mauve. I'll use it since it feels nice and I loved tinted lip balms but not sure if I'd buy again.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Plumping Lip Glaze - Oasis
rated 2 of 5
snyder 9/3/2008 9:28:00 PM

So my friend had this when we went out one night and I gave it a try. I really liked it so I bought my own. Not as shiny as I originally thought plus it doesn't plump my lips at all. It feels like you don't get much product in the tube either. The colors are pretty though, a shimmery rose gold and a clear color with a slight gold shimmer (which is why I gave it some stars). I also noticed that it left a funny a metallic taste in my mouth...yuck.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Brightening Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
snyder 9/3/2008 9:14:00 PM

I got this in Coffee and I *love* it!! Goes on super duper smooth, no tugging at all and dries to a powder like finish. I used to be faithful to MAC's Stubborn Brown Powerpoint, but I dislike the price tag for a basic brown eyeliner. So I thought I give this a try and I dare say that I like it better because it goes on so much smoother. I would love if it had a rubber smudger on the other end, but that's okay.

Mascara -E.L.F. - Earth and Water Mascara Duo
rated 5 of 5
snyder 9/3/2008 9:08:00 PM

I got this with a travel kit I bought and was surprised that I really liked it! It's a very natural looking mascara, so if your looking for something more dramatic this is not for you. I also had no clumps with this. I don't usually wear waterproof mascara, so I doubt I'll use that side but the regular side is awesome!

Eye Shadow -Sonia Kashuk - Peach Puff Duo
rated 4 of 5
snyder 7/29/2008 1:19:00 PM

I bought this on a whim because it looked pretty and I have never owned a peach eyeshadow. Most peach eyeshadows I've seen look coppery, which doesn't look good on me. I have blue eyes and havebeen told to try peach colors to make them pop. The colors in this duo are a matte soft peach and a matching shimmery peach. They are very soft and natural. They are very pretty on, but not very pigmented. Good for a natural look, but if you want something more dramatic I'd pass on these. I don't really notice the peach making my blue eyes pop, but it still looks nice. I think I prefer my taupe or brown eyeshadows more. I'd like to try other colors in this line since the duos looked like they really went together nicely.

Tinted Moisturizer -Sonia Kashuk - Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
snyder 7/29/2008 11:11:00 AM

LOVE this!!! Best tinted moisturizer I have used. I tried LM's TM, but found it to be too much coverage. It felt like it was more like a foundation plus the colors didn't really match my skin. I bought the Sonia Kashuk TM in shade #2 and it works beautifully. The coverage is sheer, which is what I wanted. It's nicely moisturizing, but not greasy and it doesn't break me out. My only gripe is the pump bottle. The product comes out really fast and sometimes I get too much, so you have to be careful when pushing the pump down. My skin looks so much better when I wear this instead of foundation. It doesn't look as cakey and just looks much more natural, plus it feels better. I would definitely recommend!
