BB Cream -Annabelle - bb cream
rated 3 of 5
snugsmontreal 8/1/2012 6:24:00 PM

pros: decent coverage (for a us bbcream), pigmented, smooth, matte finish cons: yellow toned, cakey, streaky application this was not the right color for me, and not by darkness but it is VERY yellow toned. i am a neutral skintone and usually within the first 3 shades of a foundation color, this was ok shadewise but tone it was WAY off. it left finger prints when i blended it into my skin, the coverage was light/medium but it looked heavy on the skin. it made my skin look fake, and i don't mean that to say flawless,, just unreal. it settled into any larger pores i had, and it left an overall appearance that i would liken to the heavy cream foundations you would use on a corpse to give them normal looking skin with blood pumping into it. i wouldn't buy this especially not at the 13$ pricetag. for a drugstore product it is more expensive than the maybelline and and loreal ones i have seen. it did have a nice matte-ish finish but it didnt match at all. also a bit of a strange application, when you rub it in vigorously (trying to smooth out the obvious streaking) it actually seemed to become more pigmented and even more yellow looking. a little does go a long way with this one though.

Lips -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Balm
rated 4 of 5
snugsmontreal 3/15/2012 10:04:00 PM

pros: great smell, smooth, moisturizing cons: no color payoff at all, cheap packaging, price value (chapstick is way cheaper) i own these in 3 shades, the coral, a berry, and a red-ish. i have only tried the coral so far so i can only speak for that one. there is no color payoff what so ever. that being stated i do like these, they have a really nice feel on the lips, like a smooth, slick lip balm. the packaging cracked because of the little insert tab which i was not pleased with. these have a mac-esque smell of a vanilla-sweet scent, no discernible taste. hopefully the berry/red tones i bought have more of a color to them, on my lips the coral is a my lips tone so i see nothing but a slight moisturized shine

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 3/15/2012 9:59:00 PM

pros: cheap price, good coverage, smooth, moisturizing cons:packaging can be hard to open, some glitter (not a fan) i love these, they are smooth and moisturizing, and don't have any wear taste or smell like chemicals. i own it in sweet tart, candy apple, cotton candy, tutti fruiti, peach, gumdrop, raspberry pie. i love all the colors i have and i wear them quite often. some are more pigmented than others (raspberry pie i'm talking to you) and almost leave a colored stain to your lips. they have a great texture on the lips and really do feel like a creamy balm texture. great price if you catch them on sale bogo1/2off or 40%off. i wouldnt buy any more shades than i have now as they dont appeal to me, but i love all the ones i have now and would buy them again if i used up/lost them.

Powder -Laura Geller - Balance n Brighten in Fair
rated 2 of 5
snugsmontreal 3/15/2012 9:51:00 PM

pros: smooth, pretty, convenient packaging, nice finish (matte) cons:orange, NOT fair, expensive, cystic acne? (my sister, not myself) so i got this from my sister who bought it and it gave her cystic acne. while this did not give me any acne of any kind, this is so dark i could use it to contour practically! it is fair my NO stretch of the imagination, i look like i'm wearing bronzer. the coverage would be light/med it does leave a nice matte finish without being flat. if this came in an actual fair color maybe i would consider it but the fair color as it is now is not fair and not flattering. blonde hair/blue eyes/freckles beware...this is not for you way too dark.

Eyeliner -Avon - Glimmersticks Liqui-glide in black
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 8/17/2011 12:32:00 PM

pros: smooth, pigmented, twist-up, thin line, good price cons: difficult to apply/too smooth, little product this is honestly up there with holy grail eyeliner for me. my sister gave this to me because she couldn't get it to apply smoothly, as it is a very slick wet texture. i must have a more steady hand with this because i never had a problem from day one. it doesn't tug my eye skin, it is good color pay off in one swipe, it does stay sort of "wet" for a while so be careful blinking until it dries. i haven't had any of the problems with the smudging or anything that some other reviewers have complained of. i almost wonder if they changed the formula from the ones the others have reviewed because mine is very black and doesn't smudge at all once it's dry. i love this and will be buying all of the colors when they go on sale.

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Cream Blush
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 4/17/2011 10:17:00 AM

Pros: cheap, stays all day, cute colors, easy to apply, good packaging design, very natural looking Cons: online only, package a little bulky, you need the right brush I apply this blush with the elf stippling brush. i can't even count the ways i love this blush, it is the most awesome cream blush i have used. so many of the cream blushes feel oily on my skin, and don't stay for more than a couple hours. this is my HOLY GRAIL blush, in the color heartbreaker it give me this awesome glow that is perfect for my skin tone. i also have seductive and flirt which do look nice but not nearly as perfect as the heartbreaker. i will buy this bliush for as long as they make it. it stays on my skin all day, and i have combo oily which usually wears hard on blushes. powder blushes don't seem to last very long on my skin so i decided to try out some cream products. everyone raved about the NYC blushable cream sticks, i bought a few and they feel too oily slick for my taste. i also tried some other creams as well, none of them seem to stay as long as this one or look as natural, or blend on as effortlessly. the texture of this isn't a "cream" it is more like a mouse-ish texture. the packaging is great in that it has a little seal to hold in the moisture so the product doesn't dry out. it is sleek looking with a clear bottom so you see how much product there is and a nice black top that ha a click once it is completely shut which is also good to keep the moisture in the product. a little goes a long way with this stuff, so this will last me a long time. i don't need to set it with a powder for it to stay all day unless i put on a little too much then i tone it down with a little powder. the cons of this are the packaging is a little deceptive, it looks much larger than it actually is. i would transfer to a different package but i want to keep it moist for as long as possible so it will stay in it's packaging. i know it is cheap, and that they do tell you how much is actually in the product but the packaging is easily more than 50% wasted space, if they made these round like the shape of the product inside and wasted less space making them square they would have saved a lot of space i my storage. this isn't a deal breaker for me by any means, i will buy this forever, the second i run out i will order 3 more to make sure i never run out again. LOVE!

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
rated 2 of 5
snugsmontreal 2/19/2011 8:13:00 PM

pros: cute packaging, nice smell cons: hard, not moisturizing this stuff is total crap in my opinion. it was 3 bucks at CVS, i did buy it when i got back 2$ register rewards (which i gave to my sister so i didnt really reap any benefit of that). for the price i expected way more from this, not to mention all the rave reviews i had heard on youtube. i only ever heard one bad review (saying it made their lips chapped) but everyone else made it sound like this was the best thing since sliced bread. i found it was hard in texture, and after smearing it on my lips i felt like it was so hard barely anything came off. it does smell nice, even got a compliment from my husband that my lips smelled mango-y. i would not buy this again in a million years, or any of the other smells either. my 1$ blistex raspberry lemonaid it 10X better at moisturizing than this was. what a total waste of 3 bucks, (i could have bought a wet n wild eyeshadow trio for that price and it would have been better spent)

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - mineral lip gloss trophy wife
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 8/16/2010 4:13:00 PM

pros: cheap (really cheap), cute packaging, versatile color, animal friendly, not sticky cons: ordering online, small size this is a small tube similar to the size of a mac lip glass. they are not sticky, they have a doe-foot, the tube is simple with a black cap and clear bottom. there is no packaging info so i can not say how much is in these. the color trophy wife is a clear with gold glitter in it. the glitter isn't gritty and this is either very natural looking or something that would be good over the top of other colors that you would like with a little gold shimmer. i got this on a big website sale so this was even cheaper than the 3$ price tag. i would buy this again even at 3 bucks. i am used to ordering tons of stuff online, and have had very good luck with this because of youtube and reviews here but that could be a downside for some people.

Lips -Joe Fresh Style - Tinted Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 8/16/2010 3:56:00 PM

pros: smooth, pigmented for a balm, super moisturizing cons: expensive for a balm, soft/melty texture this was priced at 8$, which is way more than i have paid for any of my other tinted balms. joe fresh never seems to go on sale except the rare occasion you find a coupon in the flier for the store. i bought this in coral, which is bright orange in the tube with a clear gel center that goes all the way down. this does give a nice color to my lips, more than i expected, but it feels almost like a glossy-slick texture more than a balm. it is so smooth and slick that after buying this i managed to crack off part of the stick, but since it is so melty i was able to just sort of press down on the broken part and it reattached to the rest of the tube, but now i have to be very careful. i would NEVER leave this in my car as it would be one nasty orange goopy mess after only maybe 15 minutes. because i already broke it once so easily i wouldn't keep this in my purse unless it is in my cellphone pocket to keep it upright and not knocked around. there is no ingredient or amount info printed on the tube so i can't say if this is a good deal or not, but 9 bucks for a balm is high but if you view this as more of a sheer glossy lipstick it isn't such a bad price.

Lip Gloss -Hard Candy - Mouthing Off Sheer Lip Shine
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 8/16/2010 3:43:00 PM

pros: smell/tastes great, good amount of product, good price, animal friendly cons: cheap packaging, sheer (but that is in the name so...) i love this as a lip gloss, i have it in "piglet 205" it is a cute mid-tone pink with a blueish cast to it. this smells and tastes great (a vanilla-candy-baked goods smell and a sweet taste), the color is very sheer (as it is marketed as a sheer lip gloss i am not surprised). it is more of a glistening shine with some glittery reflects in it. the glitter is smooth you don't get the sandpaper feel between your lips. the packaging is really the only thing i do not enjoy, it is a cardboard tube, yes it is decorated fancy but its still cardboard. it does have a clear plastic center strip so you can see the color. unlike the plumping serum gloss the mouthing off packaging is not deceptive. what you see is what you get, the tube is as thick as it looks from the outside. this is about 6 bucks and you get 7.5 gm or .26 oz or 7.7 ml. i would buy this one again before i would but the plumping on as you get 150% MORE with this than the plumping serum for the same dollar amount.

Lip Gloss -Hard Candy - Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss
rated 4 of 5
snugsmontreal 8/16/2010 3:35:00 PM

pros: smells/tastes nice, cute colors, not sticky, pretty packaging, non-animal tested cons: small amount of product, glittery, not long lasting, doesn't really plump i just assume everything is lip gloss plain and simple so i don't feel let down when plumpers don't work. i have fuller lips naturally so i can't say i need a plumper. as far as this lip gloss goes, it has a little tingle that lasts about 5 minutes. i have this in the color "girl next door 150" which is a lovely baby/pastel pink color, really my lips are too pigmented to say it comes off a baby pink color but it does provide a sheer tint and a nice shine and feel. this is not sticky (i hate sticky so that is a pro in my book) it does have larger particles of glitter in it (you don't feel them and they are not chunky but noticeable). the smell and taste are the primary reasons i would buy again, it is sort of like a vanilla-y sweets type of smell and a sweet taste. the product is deceptively small, when you see the tube it is clear and one of the type that magnifyso when you look at it from the bottom end you see that the tube may be 3/4 inch thick but the product depth inside is barely more than 1/4 inch thick so basically just slightly thicker than the doe-foot applicator wand that goes inside this tube. this is a doe foot and i don't like wand/brush ones i find them to messy for on-the-go without a mirror. i would repurchase as this smells/tastes great and i would have to because of how little there is i will go through it quite quickly. it is 2.7 grams or .10 oz or 3 ml

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Bronzer Brush
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 6/17/2010 12:20:00 AM

pros: dense, soft, long handle, cheap, versatile, vegan, light cons: long drying time, bulky for small spaces i love this brush, it is a kabuki with a big handle that i find a lot easier to manipulate than a kabuki that has that little stub of a handle to it. it is SUPER soft and it doesn't have any glue/toxic/chemical smell. fake hairs so that's good for all the goats/squirrels etc. i have the 5-piece set of ecotools as well, which i like, but i would buy this one the next day if it was lost. it isn't heavy feeling and i love that the handle is so fat it can just stand up on its own on your vanity no brush holder space needed. this is listed for bronzer but i use it for all types of stuff, i use it with mineral foundation, blotting powder, bronzer, blush practically anything.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Studio Lip Stain
rated 3 of 5
snugsmontreal 5/15/2010 6:47:00 PM

pros:cute colors, cute packaging, long-ish wearing, no smell cons: not a stain, little product, heavy i am on the fence about these, i own 2 (first date and birthday suit) these are by no stretch of the imagination a lip stain. these are more like those long lasting lipsticks/colors like the covergirl outlast. one side of the duel-ended tube is color the other is a clear cover gloss. the gloss part is heavy, and if you don't give the color proper time to set the gloss will not remain clear long. the color side is a thick opaque liquid, i love the colors but i am not too happy with the application process. when you put on the color it takes a long time to dry (and i use the maybelline and covergirl long wearing lipcolors) then when you put the gloss on it sort of re-moistens the color your just waited so long to dry. the gloss is thick and makes the color part become almost like a thick heavy pigmented gloss (if that is what you want then these are perfect) because it is so thick it does last a long time. i will try experimenting and trying the colors with more of a lip balm over the top like my maybelline ones, since i love those just not the color selection. the jury is still out on if i would really repurchase these, i love the vibrant colors but i have to find a way to make it work that i like. will update if i have an earth-shattering sliced-bread-kind of epiphany to make these work

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Studio Minty Lip Gloss
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 5/15/2010 6:38:00 PM

pros: great smell, great taste, cute colors, cute packaging, CHEAP! cons: small amount of product, some colors not pigmented, doe-foot applicator i love these puppies, even the not pigmented ones. even my husband, who generally wont kiss me if i am wearing gloss, liked these. they smell sort of like Colgate regular mint toothpaste, but they taste sort of sweetened. i would say they aren't glittery (no gritty feeling) but more of a shimmery look, i own all of them except the clear-whitey one. my leave favorite of them is the Nashville since it is literally a flesh skin tone and looks like nothing on my lips, but regardless of that it still smells and tastes good. the tube is cute looking, one of mine the wand had a little rough spot that nicked the little wand scraper on the inside so now one side of the wand always comes out with a lot of product, which is great by me it always takes 4-5 pumps with the doe-foot applicators anyhow. i will repurchase these until they stop making them, i would recommend them to everyone (and have). they are sheer so even the crazy colors are not *THAT* crazy. love them love them, so tasty. also not sticky, they just sort of exist they don't have an oily slippery feel nor sticky, and although i doubt the color stays, the moisture feeling of the gloss sticks around a long time

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Luscious Liquid Lipstick - ALL
rated 5 of 5
snugsmontreal 3/31/2010 10:30:00 AM

pros: easy applications, great smell, no icky taste, CHEAP cons: amount of product is small (but super cheap) this is absolutely my HG lipgloss/tint stuff. i love the applicator, it is like a velvety covered twist out gloss. it leaves a perfect amount of tint color and a little shiny so it isn't that mirror unnatural shine it is like a hint of gloss. it is not sticky, feels a little smooth and creamy on the lips. i love all the colors i own (baby lips, ruby slipper, cherry tart) these things are a buck at kmart or eyeslipsface.com. i would buy these again and again, in fact the next time i go visit my mother i will be shipping about 25 of them to her house so i don't have to pay the shipping to canada. i can't say enough good things about these. they have a small amount of product but they are a buck, if you bought 5 of them which would be the cheapest amount i have paid for a drugstore lipgloss it would easily equal the same amount if not more. LOVE LOVE LOVE
