Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Topix - Replenix Ultra Sheer Physical Sunscreen Spray SPF 50
snowymtn 4/22/2012 4:13:00 PM
So I ordered from Dermstore, which is like the Zappos of skincare! It came in 2 days. From the site: "What it's used for: Replenix Ultra Sheer Physical Sunscreen Spray SPF 50 provides quick and easy sun protection with a chemical-free sunscreen formula. Zinc oxide provides broad-spectrum spf 50 coverage and is water-resistant for up to 40 minutes. Antioxidants, including green tea, resveratrol vitamin C, emblica and CoQ10, help to prevent premature skin aging by fighting free radicals. Weightless and non-whitening, as well as oil-, fragrance- and paba-free. " Ingredients: Zinc Oxide 12%. Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Biotin, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Polyphenols, Cetyl PEG/PPG 10/1 Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Emblica Officinalis Fruit Extract, Glyceryl Isostearate, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Phenoxyethanol, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Purified Water, Resveratrol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q-10)." It's a shake and spray, a generous 4 oz for about $32. When you first apply it, it is very wet and easily spreadable. No fragrance. But it stays wet for a bit, about 5-10 minutes. And then, it dries beautifully, no stickyness and very light. It is not matte, but not shiny either. It feels just the way my skin feels after a light serum. So it's a big win in my book, both for price and texture. Would I wear it to the beach? Probably not, I'd stick to a nasty uber protective euro ss for that. But for everyday use I think it will be great. I normally use Shisheido Ultimate face cream, which I love, but it gives a feeling of having "something there" on my face which is mildly annoying. The Shisheido probably protects more UVA based on their higher percent of zinc. I can't compare to Skinceuticals UV fusion because I haven't tried that yet. Thanks Jcuevas for letting us know about it! x

I adore this body wash. It cleanses well but is not drying, has a very slight fresh scent, and great ingredients. It also works very well with shaving. I'm so glad I discovered it!

Styling Products -Aquage - Silkening Oil Treatment

This is a really great argan serum that allows me to blow dry my long hair in close to 5 minutes. I alternate this with the Joico color care serum on days I don't want protein. It's clear, adds no color, great ingredients, and never weighs my hair down. If my hair is feeling dry, I layer this on ends over a leave in conditioner. I will absolutely buy it again.

Styling Products -Garnier - Sleek & Shine Blow Dry Straightening Balm w/Argan Oil
snowymtn 7/15/2011 4:37:00 PM
This is a new product from Garnier and is not listed on their website yet. They have reformulated several products and added new ones with Argan oil recently. I found it in the grocery store, on sale for 2 for $5. Today I used it and had a great blowout! I used the dryer on medium heat w/a round brush and my hair is super straight, shiny, and smooth. And extremely soft. I did also used a bit of the new Garnier sleek and smooth serum w/argan oil on my ends. I think it works well as a heat protectant, as it has dimethicone as the second ingredient, and also xylose, which L'oreal says (for a higher end product) "xylose is derived from glucose and protects the fibre against the heat and guarantees a smooth result" I will update if anything changes but so far it's a keeper! Give it a try and report back!

Conditioner -Aquage - Biomega Moisture Mist
snowymtn 7/5/2011 5:25:00 PM
This is a nice very light spray leave in conditioner and detangler. The spray is a nice fine mist, and it provides nice slip for combing after a shower. It's not super moisturizing, ie it's lighter than It's a 10 or Aveeno Nourish leave ins if you have tried those. On the website it says it is recommended for fine, limp or thinning hair, and it also claims to have UV protection. It's $12 for 10 ounces at my salon, not bad considering 10 oz of a leave in product will last quite a while. So while I do love it, I don't use it every day because it is indeed so light, but it's a great inclusion in my rotation. Most often I use it under Joico kpak oil or Moroccan oil serum type of products.

Shampoo -Aquage - Biomega Moisture shampoo
snowymtn 7/5/2011 5:03:00 PM
This is a nice sulfate free shampoo that cleans really well without drying. It's not a miracle product, but I love it in my rotation for days when I just need a light shampoo without a stripped feeling. A bit spendy at $16 salon price, but it's a fairly large bottle and not a lot of product is needed for my fairly long hair.

I absolutely adore this serum. Previously I was using Moroccan oil, which was nice, but I wasn't thrilled with the ingredients so I decided to try this based on reviews. I love it. It gives my hair incredible shine and movement, as well as heat protection. I use it before blow drying on towel dried hair by squirting it into my hands and using a very small amount from roots to tips. The bottle is huge and will last a very long time.

Sunscreen -MyChelle - Sun Shield SPF 28
snowymtn 3/16/2011 2:45:00 AM
I love this sunscreen for everyday use. No breakouts, it's not greasy or drying, and no white cast. Perfect under makeup. If you haven't tried it since the reformulation (a year or so ago), I would absolutely give it a shot. Also, it's available in my grocery store, so no need for online ordering which is nice.

These are a new Stridex product, in a white tub with an orange top. I'm liking it so far. Not super potent but a nice, non drying BHA treatment for everyday use. It dries well and doesn't seem to leave any film on my face. Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Canyon Ranch-Your Transformation SPF30 Protection UVA/UVB Facial Moisturizer
snowymtn 3/13/2010 9:03:00 PM
I love this physical sunscreen. Made with pro-niacin, the same "better than niacinamide" product in Nia24 products, it has a nice amount of zinc. It's whitening at first, but this completely resolves within 10 minutes. It dries quite matte. Not the best protection for big days outdoors, but for average days I think it's fine. PPD = approx 7.4 according to CIBA. Find it on ebay for a cheaper price, just check the expiration date with the seller.

Moisturizers -NIA 24 - Skin Strengthening Complex
snowymtn 3/9/2010 4:47:00 AM
I've been using this for a month now, and absolutely love it. I have acne prone skin with slight skin damage, and fine lines under my eyes. What it's done: evened out my skintone, improved fine lines on my face and neck, and really helped my skin barrier. In other words I rarely peel or experience irritation from tretonion (retin-a) or aha products anymore. I recommend easing into it, every other day at first, and I did experience some very slight purging and peeling for one week only. Highly recommended, and much more effective than niacinamide products. (I used olay regenerest serum for 2 years prior to this.). I use the SSC in the morning 10 minutes after C serum, and in the evening every other night one hour after retin A. Yes, it's spendy, but that said, I still have a good portion left of my bottle after a month.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 70
snowymtn 7/2/2009 6:31:00 PM
I love this one. I have oily, acne prone skin, no breakouts so far, it dries to a nice matte finish, makeup goes on well over it. It's much more matte than the Neutrogena Age Shield sunscreen, and the Olay Regenerest with SPF. No white cast whatsover, I'm very happy so far. Taking off a lippie because it stings my eyes if I get the ss too close to them.

Sunscreen -Banana Boat - Sun Wear Daily Sunblock Lotion SPF 50
snowymtn 5/3/2007 12:19:00 PM
This is a great stable US sunscreen. I typically use LRP dermo peds 40 spray, but now have been wearing Sunwear daily because of the price. No breakouts for me which is great. It does sting a bit at first, but this goes away after a few minutes. The spf 30 is nice as well, but with a lower PPD, and they are the exact same texture,so there is no reason not to use the 50. I purchased at Rite-Aid.
