Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Thickening Spray

I received a deluxe sample of this that lasted quite a while. I have short fine hair but lots of it..that gets weighed down easily but requires something to give it some volume, grip, shape etc. This was just okay..a bit drying, especially if I used it 2 days in a row. I liked it enough to use it but wouldnt purchase the full size.
This is perfect for me. I am about to repurchase it for the 3rd time. I am not crazy about the Boing..especially since it's a bit dark..I'd prefer a larger base color as that always runs out first...but all in all I would say this is one of my favorite makeup purchases.
Cleansers -Soap and Glory - The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser
snow7kids 5/12/2013 2:58:00 PM
I like the cloth that it came with...I will use it until I run out but won't repurchase. I have oily skin and like my face to feel squeaky clean after I wash (but not tight). This made my skin feel too soft...almost a coated/waxy feeling.
This is my go to lip liner. It's just a great neutral color that I use to fill in my lips before lipstick. Great price, great color...I recommend.
It was hard for me to rate this...I usually wouldn't put yes to buying a product if I just gave it a 3 . I do really like this blush and have hit pan and repurchased..but...i use it sparingly (almost as you would a highlighter). It is very frosty so I usually use it over another blush, on the apples and I do it sparingly...otherwise it looks OTT. I have used it lightly on my eyes as a base and to blend from crease to brow..but just a touch to avoid looking weird. It does give that extra something special to make your cheeks pop that my other blushes don't ...sometimes I swipe the color on the brush, wipe it on a tissue, then put it on my cheek.
Foundations -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
snow7kids 5/1/2013 3:06:00 AM
I have 3 foundations that I rotate and this is one of them. I have YSL TE, Rimmel Lasting Finish and this. I love all of them. I have this is color 810 and it's just a smidgen too light...but something only I would notice. What I love about this foundation is that I could go almost all day without having to blot my very oily forehead which is otherwise unheard of. I like the finish. It's thicker then my other foundations but I don't have a problem blending if my face is prepped. I like to use Soap & Glory Fab Pore scrub every 2 days to create that smooth surface beforehand. If my face feels a bit dry from washing, I'll use a little bit of a silicone type primer first to help the foundation glide on easier...I use Monistat anti chafing gel for that. I could give this foundation 5 stars but I'm trying to not dish out 5 stars too much...unless it's as perfect as it gets. And it does last all day on me....something that my YSL, as beautiful as it is doesn't.
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Forever Fig
snow7kids 4/29/2013 2:48:00 PM
I really like this color...my usual go to shadow is Urban Decay Last Call but sometimes I want a plum type color that is not shimmery and more discreet...but still brings out my eyes . This does just that. It's great for green eyes.
Liquid -Yves Saint Laurent - Teint Touche Eclat Foundation
snow7kids 4/13/2013 10:36:00 AM
I tried the sample, liked it so much I got the full size. I have oily skin and I know this isn't the best foundation if you have oily skin. But, I love how it looks like my own skin but better. I don't mind blotting my forehead once a day. It is very expensive so I rotate it with 2 other favorites of mine...RImmel Lasting Finish and Covergirl 3 in 1.
This doesn't do much for me. It tingles (has a bubbly feeling..like someone dissolved an alkaseltzer tablet on your lips)...but I don't see any plumping going on. I will use it to soften my lips and help prep them for lipstick but I wont repurchase when I run out.
I am a little nice giving this 3 lippes...more like a 2 1/2. I tried this thinking I'd save some money...I normally buy the Revlon colorstay one. My main problem with this eyeliner was the brush. It is very flimsy and just not stiff enough to draw a smooth line. For that reason alone, I won't repurchase.
Treatments -Pantene - Expert Collection Age Defy Advanced Thickening Treatment
snow7kids 3/23/2013 6:31:00 AM
I really like this stuff. I started using the whole age defying line in December. I think the bottle of thickening treatment lasted me 5-6 weeks of daily use. I noticed a positive difference right away but even more so as time went on. For reference, I have fine (but lots of it) hair in a short chin length bob that i color light blond...my hair type and color combo show any damage easily so I cut it every 6 weeks. This product got my hair to where I fellt like I could take a break from it and still maintain results. I stopped using it for a month and my hair still looked thicker. I am back to using it again and it doesn't let me down. I believe any thickening product eventually dries out your hair sooner or later and I do take a break from any product- shampoo, cond etc when my hair doesn't have movement. I prefer hair that moves then super thick looking hair that doesn't. As for this causing split ends? It didn't give me that but I could see some raised cuticles but no biggie.
I just used this for the first time this morning and I absolutely love it. I was in Boots where they had a buy one get one half on this brand. I wasn't sure what to get because I usually read reviews before any purchase and without reviews it's so hard to pick! I am so glad I got this. Will be stocking up and buying other products from this brand. I noticed that while soap and glory has stores in the U.S. they have certain products that are only sold only in the UK so I will keep that in mind when deciding what to buy while I am here Edit: the more I use this the more I love it..it is a must have from now on. I just wish you got more for your money...the jar is so small. :(
Lipstick -Lancome - Rouge Absolu Creme - Rose Petale
snow7kids 3/13/2013 2:50:00 PM
I came across this lipstick after trying on a bunch of others at Ulta...I had just bought a peach colored blouse and my usual pink lipstick didn't look good with it. I saw lots of shades of peach lipstick that identically matched the color of my blouse and It would have been nice if straight up peach worked for my coloring but it doesn't--at all. So, with my husband next to me as a second opinion, I tried on a bunch of Lancome shades and this color, we agreed, looked good with my blouse...on me it's a neutral rosy peach color. I am fine with the color and bought it because I was in the rush but I wouldn't buy this particular lipstick again because of the texture. I don't like natural feeling lipsticks. This is very moisterizing and when it's on, all I feel is soft lips, so I always feel like I'm checking to see if I even have color on my lips. I like it when lipsticks feel saturated in color and I can 'feel' that it's on. so, in the future, I will take more time and find a lipstick that is good in color and texture. For those who like a lip balm type of texture and don't mind reapplying often, then this is good.
I really thought this was exactly what I was looking for. I bought the regular Naked for my 18 yr old daughter and she loves it.(but she has brown eyes and olive coloring...I have green eyes and am fair) I didn't like it at all. I am not afraid of shimmer but I thought it was just too much and not flattering. So, when I saw the Naked Basics, I was SURE it was for me. I usually wear purple eye shadow but wanted something neutral for the days purple wouldn't work with what I was wearing etc. I tried the Naked Basics a couple of times and it just wasn't impressive enough to keep. what I ended up buying (and liking) was NYC blushes in 3 colors (Riverside Rose, Central Park Pink and West Side Wine)...thought I'd see if I liked those colors as a neutral eye shadow. I do. So, I have given up looking for neutral palettes and am just going to stick with blush colors from now on.
I was a fan of the 120's and 136, but these are my definite new favorites. I do cut them and even cut vertically into them to make them perfect for my eye...I wear them everyday....though some days I wear Ardell 110's or Salon Perfect 110's (at Walmart) when I want a different look. I get these in bulk from Madame Madeline and try not to cake them up with mascara so I can get about 5 uses from each pair (sometimes less). Love them!!
