Cleansers -Yes To Carrots - Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Smoothing Daily Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
snoopy68 5/21/2013 9:12:00 AM

I'm not sure why all the bad reviews on this facial cleanser, maybe people were thinking that this would lather, but this is a creamy, nourishing cleansing. Almost like a cold cream. You have to massage it into your skin and cleanse it away with a washcloth soaked in warm water. I don't notice a bad smell either. In fact, this leaves my skin soft, supple, and dewey. Not dried out like with a foaming, gel cleanser. I have oily, acne-prone, aging skin, but this doesn't seem to create or exercerbate acne. I marked this down, however, due to the high price. $9.99 for a product that does not last long at all. I like the fact that this is a natural product and most importantly YES to CARROTS does not test on animals. Overall, I find that this cleanser performs wonderfully. Again, it is very high priced for the amount of cleanser that you get in the tube.

Fragrances -Pacifica - Tuscan Blood Orange
rated 4 of 5
snoopy68 4/26/2013 10:56:00 AM

Oh my, how I love this Tuscan Blood Orange fragrance! I have read a lot of complaints in regards to the longevity of this fragrance, however, I have found it to be potent for quite awhile and I don't even layer it with the body creme or solid fragrance. I wouldn't say it lasts all day without re-applying, but I certainly get subtle wafts of it throughout the day. It is not cloying like a lot of synthetic fragrances, nor does it create headaches or sneezing fits, which I can experience with other perfumes. I bought a small roller-ball glass tube of this at Target for about $12. I wish Target carried the large spray bottle. Up until Target recently selling Pacifica products, the only easy way I could get my hands on them was to order them online. I love the fact that the Pacifica line is not tested on animals and that they are natural products too, not laden with nasty, artificial ingredients. The fragrance smells to me like sweet orange blossoms.

Bronzers -Sonia Kashuk - Undetectable Creme Bronzer Warm Tan
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 4/17/2013 12:05:00 PM

SK's creme bronzer is the BEST!!! I love the fact that this bronzer is a creme and it just melts and blends effortlessly into ythe skin for an uber natural, sheer, bronzed look. It really makes you look like you spent a day in the sun! There is nothing orange or dirty looking about this bronzer. Not glittery sparkles either. It's in a large, round pot with a mirror and sponge applicator, however, I like to just apply this with my fingers. It's sheer, but saturated and the color is definitely buildable. I can go on and on about the perks of this bronzer forever. It is the best that I have ever used in my entire life. I would highly recommend that you run down to Target and grab up this beauty. It comes in two colors: Warm Tan for lighter skin tones and Rich Bronze for darker skin tones. It's perfect!

Mascara -Pixi - Large Lash Mascara
rated 3 of 5
snoopy68 4/17/2013 9:04:00 AM

This is a very expensive drugstore mascara at $18.00 a pop, so I had high hopes that it would perform for the money that I had spent. There are some definite good qualities; such as it does not smear, flake, nor clump. It is a rich, dark black. If you enjoy a natural lash look then this mascara would perform in that arena, however, I have found that it is not buildable with additional coats. It also tends to pull out any curl in the lash. This mascara will not leave you with lushly thick lashes if that is the look you so desire. I took off one lippie due to the high price of the product and I took off an additional lippie, because this mascara promises large lashes, but it does not deliver the large-lash look. This would be a nice mascara for the natural lash look if that is what you are looking for.

Blush -Sonia Kashuk - Creme Blush - Rosey
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 4/10/2013 4:13:00 PM

I absolutely LOVE SK rosey creme blush!!! It's so much better than the other creme colors - blossom and petal. Neither blossom or petal stay on my cheeks more than just a few hours before they fade away, but rosey stays on all day long. It's more of a peach shade than an actual rose color. It reminds me of a creamy non-shimmering version of Nars Orgasm. For $8.99 give this a try. It will last you forever. Beautiful spring/summer color, but it definitely is neutral enough to wear year round. Even though I'm classified as a muted/soft summer season, pinkish blushes really do not work with my skin tone, as I have a bit of redness. So, peachy tones work for me and this is the best peach-toned creme (or even powder) blush on the market.

Shampoo -Alba Botanica - Plumeria Replenishing Hair Wash
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 4/3/2013 9:23:00 AM

I bought the Alba Plumeria Replenishing Hair Wash and Conditioner at Target - combo pak - $9.99. I have a pixie cut, but my hair is heavily highlighted, so even though it is short it tends to be a bit dry. Since the shampoo is not creamy I really feared that this product may be too drying for my hair. Not so! It cleanses very well, but gently, with no build-up. The smell is not strong. I really love this shampoo! And I cannot rave enough about the incredibly moisturizing conditioner! Oh, I think the conditioner is the best that I have ever used in my entire life! I'll save my rantings on the conditioner for that review.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Skin Food
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 4/3/2013 9:18:00 AM

I love Weleda Skin Food! I apply this in the evening after I wash my face with the OCM and applying pure Rose Hip Seed Oil to my face. I use it around my eyes, forehead, and above my upper lip area as I don't feel like I really need it on my cheeks or chin. Also, I use it on my neck/check areas and hands. It's a bit pricey, but sometimes I can get it on sale for $12 and change at Target. Since I use such a small amount in those areas it does last me awhile. Besides my makeup, I use only pure, natural ingredients on my face. The combo of the OCM, Rose Hip Seed Oil, and Weleda Skin Food as my pm skin routine has really made a difference.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Oil Cleansing Method OCM
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 3/27/2013 11:50:00 AM

I have been using Albolene cleanser for several years, as I hate anything that foams or dries out my face. So, the other day I thought that instead of buying another tub of Albolene that I would make up a batch of oil to cleanse my face with. I mixed about 10% of hexane-free, cold-pressed castor, 90% EVOO, and 5 drops of pure Geranium oil (as I've read Geranium oil is great for skin rejuvenation). I slather in on my face, ensuring that I massage it into my skin very well. I've never felt actual debris coming out of my skin, as several reviewers have noted. I soak a washcloth in hot water, wring it out, let it cool down for a second, and then apply it to my face until it completely cools. Then I rinse the washcloth thoroughly and wipe the remaining oil from my face, concentrating on removing traces of oil from the hair and jawline, so I don't get whiteheads (that happened to my skin years ago when I tried the OCM). I must agree that my skin looks dewy, fresh, and moisturized. I only use the OCM at night to remove makeup. Afterward, I apply Roseseed Hip Oil and a little bit of Weleda Skin Food around my outer eyes, neck, and chest areas. In the morning, I simply use baking soda as a quick exfoliant. My routine is pretty simple. I am 45 years old and I am constantly complimented on my skin. I have very few lines. My worst complaint with this whole aging business is a few broken spider veins on my face, but overall I believe I have good skin. I tend to be a bit acne prone, however, OCM has never excerbated the issue. All I can say is give it a try and see if it works for you.

Lotions/ Creams -Queen Helene - Cocoa Butter Creme
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 3/21/2013 10:50:00 AM

I absolutely love this cocoa butter creme - it is the best on the market hands down! It is extremely moisturizing and it will relieve the driest skin. I use this religiously in the summer, especially if I'm on a beach vacation, as it prevents peeling in the event that I do get a little too much sun. It has a cocoa butter smell, which reminds me of the beach! I don't really use it on my body during the winter. I use Nature's Gate Papaya lotion which does the trick for me. I know that sounds counterintuitive due to winter being the driest of all seasons, however, it is a very heavy creme and I don't like getting it on my clothing. I use it daily on my hands year round. I keep a small jar in my desk at work and it keeps my hands so soft and supple. You cannot beat the price of this either. Dirt cheap. It is greasy when you first apply it, but it absorbs into the skin pretty quickly. I've never tried this on my face, as other reviewers have stated, so I cannot say how well it would work on the that area. I also love the fact that this product is not tested on animals nor does it have a ton of nasty chemicals or preservatives. Ingredients: Mineral oil, water, beeswax, paraffin, cocoa seed butter, sodium borate, lanolin, stearyl alcohol, fragrance, yellow 5 & 6, red 33 & 40. I don't get too freaked out about mineral oil or paraffin due to the fact that toxicity levels for both ingredients are fairly low. I wish Queen Helene would take out the fragrance and coloring, as I don't believe they are really needed, however, there are far worse chemical-laden products on the market.

Lipstick -Sonia Kashuk - Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color Ruby Rose
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 2/22/2013 11:39:00 AM

I love SK's Satin Luxe Lip Color line! Rich, buttery, moisturizing color. The Ruby Rose is a bright, punchy reddish-pink that is a fabulously beautiful lip color! It really brightens my face. I think this is a great color for Spring and Summer, but honestly I can see myself wearing this color year round. It's my favorite color so far out of the entire line. I've always heard that darker lip colors can make your lips look thinner, especially as you age. Fortunately I have full lips to begin with, but this color makes my lips look insanely plumped. Even my husband commented on the size of my lips when I asked him how he liked my new lip color! This is my new favorite lip color!

Lipstick -Sonia Kashuk - Satin Luxe Lipcolor Violetta
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 2/8/2013 8:45:00 AM

I am loving the new Satin Luxe Lip Colors from SK! My favorite color is Violetta. It's a beautiful color for spring, but pigmented enough for fall. It's a fuschia shade - a perfect blend of pinkish-purple, without being garish. I can wear very little makeup elsewhere on my face and when I wear this color on my lips it's about all I need to brighten my entire face. It's super moisturizing. It's my go-to shade. Love, love, love!

Conditioner -Suave - Keratin Infusion Leave-In Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
snoopy68 2/5/2013 1:27:00 PM

I bought this stuff on a whim while vacationing, because I forgot my hair creme at home and WOW-WEEE am I ever glad that I picked this up!!! This stuff is MARVELOUS!!! I have wavy/curly hair that has a tendency to really frizz out. This product smooths my hair without weighing it down or pulling out any wave or curl. No frizz whatsoever. And it's dirt cheap! $3.00 for a pretty generous bottle, considering all I need is about a dime-sized dollop. Those gals with thick, wavy, or curly hair - especially hair that has a tendency to frizz should really try this stuff. It is awesome and honestly it works better than any of the high end salon products that usually end up stuffed toward the back of my bathroom cabinet, because they just do not deliver results. Try it!

Fragrances -Coty - Beckham Signature - Women
rated 3 of 5
snoopy68 1/18/2013 11:26:00 AM

I bought this perfume at TJMaxx for $14.99 for a 1.7 oz bottle. The bottle itself is very pretty, even though I hardly base the looks of a perfume bottle as the sole reason for a purchase. Unfortunately I couldn't get a sneak preview whiff of this perfume before I purchased it. I don't hate this scent, but as other reviewers have noted it has a very masculine smell to it. I pick up initially a plummy/raspberry scent and then this dries down to a scent that I cannot fully describe other than masculine. On the plus side, this scent does last. I would recommend this perhaps for women who like unisex or even men's colognes. I tend to veer toward a more vanilla scent. I will not re-purchase this, but since I have this in my arsenal I will probably over time use it as it does not actually stink or give me a headache. This would probably make a good evening, sultry scent.

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant
rated 4 of 5
snoopy68 12/27/2012 3:20:00 PM

I have been using A&H Essentials Natural Deodorant for years, as it is the only deodorant on the market that I've been able to find that does not allow me to smell of BO after a couple of hours. Even in hot, humid, sweltering weather. It's dirt cheap and easy to locate...I wish I could, however, find a natural deodorant that is effective from a company that doesn't perform animal testing. I also don't like the fact that this has triclosan and propylene glycol in it, but until I can actually find something that works and does not leaving me smelling like BO, I'm stuck with it!

Deodorants -Tom's of Maine - Natural Long Lasting Deodorant in Wild Lavender
rated 1 of 5

Oh, for as much as I would love this product to work effectively it is quite the stinker and I mean that literally. I do not have an issues with over perspiring or BO, but soon after applying this deodorant even in the cold of winter, I get BO. This sad just does not work. Nuff said.
