Powder -Merle Norman - Luxiva Purely Mineral Makeup

Although a little more on the pricier side, this really is a nice powder foundation-very light and non-irritating. With that said, it doesn't cover blemishes very well, and it's not very build-able either. I sometimes dust a little over one of my more heavier foundations to add a little 'sparkle'. The foundation has a shimmer to it, so I wouldn't recommend applying it to any oily-prone areas. Overall, its a really great investment and it lasts forever (however, I use mine only sparingly-so maybe that's why it lasts!). Regardless, it's a great powder alone or with other foundations.

Moisturizers -Alba Botanica - Hawaiian Aloe & Green Tea Oil Free Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 4:46:00 PM

This is by far the most amazing moisturizer I've ever used! Not greasy and dries really quickly. Moisturizes really well! This is the only moisturizer I use-I don't use a different night time moisturizer. I find it works well during the cold Canadian winters and during the dry summers, too (I use it sparingly during the summer though). The only not-so-great thing about this moisturizer is the packaging. Make sure to wash your hands before using to avoid spreading bacteria, especially if you have acne. This product is very gentle and great for sensitive (and safe for breakout-prone skin in my opinion), I've been using it for about 2 years and I'm still loving it!

Concealers -Maybelline - Cover Stick
rated 2 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 3:26:00 PM

Very inexpensive, but the product is cheap in quality. It's kind of oily and didn't sit well on my skin. I also found it difficult to blend and I couldn't wear it without having to use a powder over it. I found it settled into the crease and into fine lines (I mean super fine lines that weren't even visible until I used this product-I'm only twenty). I have acne-prone skin, and though this product never irritated my breakouts or cause any, it never stayed in place, with that said, I will not be repurchasing.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Bronzer Brush
rated 5 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 3:11:00 PM

I love EcoTool brushes! The bamboo bronzer brush is super soft and very dense. I wash it with soap and water after each use and it still looks like new. I actually use this brush to apply my Pur Minerals powder foundation and it does an excellent job! However, it does an equally amazing job at applying bronzer. Definitely recommend this product!

Mascara -MAC - Opulash
rated 4 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 3:06:00 PM

I personally really like this product. The sales representative assured me it would last longer than regular drugstore products and it certainly has! I believe I paid ~$18 for it, which is expensive, but well worth it. It doesn't irritate my eyes (and I have very sensitive eyes!) and MAC doesn't test on animals! Went on very nicely, doesn't clump. Will be repurchasing for sure!

Primer/ Corrector -Pur Minerals - Color Correcting Primer
rated 4 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 3:02:00 PM

Love this product! Although I don't use it every time with my foundation (nor do I wear foundation everyday), it's amazing when it comes to reducing the redness in my cheeks and acne for special occasions. It's very sheer, and feels oily when applying it, but I swear it diminishes pores and leaves my skin soft to the touch! Just AMAZING! I was talked into buying it by a sales lady at Shopper's and I can tell you I am happy I was. It is rather on the expensive side (~$30) and that is why I only wear it on special outings. I am thoroughly happy with this product and if I have some extra cash by the time I finish this bottle, I will definitely be repurchasing it!

Powder -Pur Minerals - Pressed Powder Foundation
rated 5 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 2:56:00 PM

This is definitely my favourite foundation! It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and it has just the right amount of coverage-sheer to medium, but totally build-able!! The only negative things I have to say is it sometimes accentuates any dry patches (so make sure to moisturize!) and the price is, well, this product is on the pricey side-but I feel these are definitely not deal breakers!

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Invisible Blemish Treatment
rated 1 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 2:49:00 PM

I have repurchased this product quite a few times over the past 5 years, but this will be my last. I have finally come to the conclusion that salicylic acid is just not meant for my skin. I find it makes my acne more irritated and inflamed, which is too bad 'cause I really, really wanted to love this product.

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Persagel 5% Benzoyl Peroxide
rated 5 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 2:46:00 PM

I'm honestly surprised at how few will be repurchasing this product. I absolutely LOVE this product (mind you I can't find the persagel 10% anywhere, so I settled for the 5%). My best friend was prescribed this by a clinical doctor and she recommended it to me. I have been using this for the last year and a half. It's by no means a miracle, but it works really well regardless. Not super drying as long as you remember to moisturize. It takes sometimes up to two weeks for the pimple to flatten (and in most cases I'm left with a flat red dot that is easy to cover up and goes away on its own), however, I do see a reduction in size and redness of pimples after using this product over a few days. The cons: it's difficult to conceal under makeup and I don't recommend doing this. I apply it every single night, and let it dry before I go to bed. I also apply whenever I have any days off and I'm not going out anywhere. With that said, I go through this product rather quickly-every 2 weeks to a month, but I keep reaching for this product! I should also mention I have very sensitive skin so it took my skin a while to adjust to this product. If you haven't tried this product already, I would say its one you gotta try!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
rated 3 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 2:24:00 PM

I purchased this product in Light after watching many youtube beauty gurus rave about this product. My opinion of the Revlon PhotoReady? I can't say I disagree nor agree with the beauty gurus that favour this foundation. I have an oily T-zone and found it to stand out a lot more in photos when I use this foundation alone; however, a little powder and you will be good to go! It didn't irritate my sensitive skin, nor could I say it caused any breakouts, which is my biggest concern. In using this product I realized I am no longer a fan of liquid foundations just due to how they feel on my skin, but because I still have a full bottle to finish, I will put a little on any broken out areas and under my eyes. This makeup is more on the sheer side, but build-able to an extent. I give it 3 lippies solely because I think it's a good product with good packaging and to my knowledge, it is paraben-free, but if I repurchase, it will only be to use its light reflecting magic under my eyes.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 1 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 2:10:00 PM

I thought this would be the perfect product for my sensitive, breakout-prone skin, especially since I had read reviews from other websites of dermatologists recommending it to their clients-I was sadly mistaken. Although I wouldn't go the extent of saying this product alone caused new pimples/breakouts, I would say it definitely encouraged to aggravate my already present acne. It was gentle, I'll give it that. It also didn't lather which is actually a good thing, but I found it did the poorest job possible in removing my foundation. My skin still felt like it was wearing makeup and it wasn't clean after every wash-this is the only reason why I will not be repurchasing.

Masks -Aubrey Organics - Green Tea and Green Clay Rejuvenating Mask
rated 2 of 5
snodog16 12/18/2011 2:01:00 PM

I have only used this product a few times, but with each use I came to the exact same conclusion and now it just sits on my shelf reminding me to write a review before I throw it in the trash. Having super sensitive acne-prone skin, it always feels like a giant leap I am taking just to try new products. The texture of this product is very oily and it smells rather rancid-this alone should have been a red flag for me. It did nothing for my oily T-zone, however, it did leave me with a lovely breakout-sigh. The only good thing I have to say about it is the price-I think I might have paid something like $12 or $14 dollars for it and the packaging isn't bad either. Overall, I will not be repurchasing this product.

Scrubs -Alba Botanica - Pineapple Enzyme Facial Scrub
rated 5 of 5
snodog16 12/29/2009 4:58:00 PM

Two words: LOVE IT. Most of my past experiences with facial scrubs do their their job well, but leave my skin slightly red and irritated. For all those with sensitive skin, rest assured, this is the best product to exfoliate without the irritation. PROS: GREAT for sensitive skin types, does a good job exfoliating without the redness and irritation CONS: It ain't cheap

Masks -Freeman - Pure Ambition Purifying Facial Clay mask with Avocado and Oatmeal
rated 2 of 5
snodog16 12/29/2009 4:50:00 PM

Half of the people I have talked to either love this product or hate it. As for myself, I'm on the haters' side. This is only due to the fact that is stung my very sensitive skin, although there are some good things: It actually improved my acne and left my skin feeling very cool and soft; however, I just couldn't handle the burning sensation and I would NOT buy this product again.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - BeFine Warming Clay Mask with Cardamon, Arnica and Pomegranate
rated 5 of 5
snodog16 12/29/2009 4:44:00 PM

I LOVE this product!! I have super sensitive skin that is also prone to breakouts, so when I tried this product in the little package I was slightly hesitant as to if it would worsen my (almost-completely-clear) acne-prone skin; instead it shrunk my pores and absorbed any excess oil on my forehead. I love the thickness of this product, too, although it was a little difficult to put on. The PROS: absorbed excess oil, shrunk pores, thick and paste-like, nice warming sensation, left a nice glow and soft skin! Also, it's fragrance free, paraben free and it won't clog pores!! The CONS: difficult to apply, smelt very much like minerals (but it is fragrance free), took a while to remove it (on the package, it recommends that you use a cleanser to remove the mask). It's also a little bit on the expensive side, but totally worth it.
