Blush -MAC - Beauty Powder Blush in Tippy (Hello Kitty)
rated 5 of 5

I love this colour! Its a hot pink with a slight shimmer/glow which doesnt look as strong once applied to the skin. I have NC15 skin and i apply it with the 187 brush and it gives me a radiant pink glow to my cheeks, i love the finish of it, radiant but not sparkly. The packaging is adorable although I cant help but wish the hello kitty packaging was a little more girly looking, i just dont think the black/grey are very 'hello kitty' colours, but i do like it still. Overall I had to have at least a few things from the hello kitty range and Im glad i bought it as I missed out on the last beauty powder blushes that MAC released as the sales assistant put a regular blush in my bag and by the time i got back to the counter the beauty powder blushes had sold out but I love this one.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush Duo - Love Rock (Grand Duos Coll.)
rated 5 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 3/9/2009 5:18:00 PM

I love the grand duos mineralize blushes, I bought this one and 'Moon river' This one is described as Gold violet mélange / bright blue pink on the MAC website, I would say thats an accurate description. I loved the original mineralized blushes but the duos are even better. I have tons of blushes but the duos are my favourite, this shows up on my NC15 skintone as a vibrant almost rosy pink, its quite a strong colour, but when applied with the 187 brush it doesnt look overdone. Overall i would have given this a 4.5 if i could as I love it but im absolutely in love the the ''moon river'' i also bought and i gave that one a 5. I would definately check out the duos if you havent already, they are gorgeous!

I bought this blush on Thursday when I picked up some things from the Hello Kitty range. I had seen photos of the duos and fell in love with them and in person they did not disappoint, Im absolutely in love with this blush! I also bought 'Love rock' which i love aswell, but this blush is absolute perfection, its a pinky/peachy colour which has a gorgeous shimmer which looks glowy rather than frosted, im not sure if it would look good on darker skin, you have to layer it a few times to get a strong colour but on my NC15 skintone its perfect. Im even considering buying a back up (which i never do) because I cant imagine being without this blush! Im obsessed with blushes and have alot (mainly MAC/NARS) but this blush is unlike any ive ever seen, i adored the mineralize blush range before but the duo is just even better, I think it might be my favourite blush ever!

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Well Dressed
rated 5 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 1/1/2009 5:34:00 PM

This is one of my favourite colours i own (i love blushers and have over 20 mac and nars blushers, mainly mac) it has a satin finish which i really like. This colour is a gorgeous pale baby pink, it seems quite shimmery (but not glittery or over the top) for a satin finish blusher but thats fine by me as i love glowy cheeks. My skin tone is NC15 and it shows up fine, its not a strong colour but i like that, it can be layered without looking chalky so you can build it up. I had been looking at this colour for a while and i wish i had bought it sooner! one of my new faves!

Blush -NARS - Torrid
rated 4 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 1/1/2009 5:29:00 PM

A nice coral colour with a little shimmer, its suits me more when i have a little colour from a gradual tanner and my skin tone is NC25 rather than my normal skin tone (NC15) and since i rarely use a tanner, i dont use this colour very often, i also prefer more pinky tones, but it is a nice colour to have, it lasts well and the compact will last for ages. I do think NARS is a bit over priced and they need to add more pink coloured blushes to their collection.

Blush -NARS - Deep Throat
rated 4 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 1/1/2009 5:26:00 PM

Nice peachy/pink shade, VERY similar to the colour 'orgasm' I have both, i bought orgasm first and adored it but now i have tried deep throat, i have to say i prefer deep throat, they are both the same colour but deep throat gives more colour pay off and less shimmer (although it still does have a touch of flattering shimmer) it works well on my skin tone which ranges between NC15 to NC25 depending on whether im using a gradual tanner or not. If i had pick, id pick this over orgasm. I do believe NARS blushers are a tad over priced, but they are good quality and they will last for a long time, i also think they need to re think the colours of their blushers and add some more pink colours to the collection, i dont need another peachy/coral colour (i already have this one, orgasm and torrid) and i prefer pink tones.

Blush -NARS - Desire
rated 5 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 1/1/2009 5:20:00 PM

Il start by saying I am a NARS fan (mainly their blushers) although i do think they are a tad overpriced, i dont mind it too much as they are good quality, although i only tend to buy colours from NARS that I am unable to find at MAC as MAC is lower priced but the quality is the same. Anyhoo, desire is a vibrant hot pink matt blusher, its a true pink which doesnt turn rosey on me (i like my pink blushers to look pink) i have a NC15 skin tone and this gives me a pink flush when used lightly (i use my mac 187 and it works great) but this colour also works well when im slightly tanned (NC25) the compact is large for a blusher and the mirror is large enough to actually use. I do think that NARS really needs to think about adding some more colours to their blusher collection as i like their blushers but i do think some of their colours leave a lot to be desired, they need a lot more pink shades as they have too many peachy/coral shades and i already have torrid, orgasm and deep throat.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Vanilla Body Lotion
rated 5 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 10/28/2008 4:05:00 PM

First of all i rated the price 1 = dirt cheap, but i have to pay about 3 times the amount it costs in the USA as I have to buy it on Ebay as you cant buy this lotion in the UK (argh!) lol but i do know that its really cheap in America so I rated it accordingly. First of all I love Vanilla, especially this type of vanilla scent, its a warm, creamy vanilla scent, i wouldnt say its too 'foody' just really nice and warm, the first second you rub it into your skin it smells really weird (at first i thought it had gone off) but it literally only lasts a few seconds, once its on the skin it settles into that gorgeous vanilla scent i described. It is moderately moisturising which is perfect for me as I dont have dry skin (maybe a tiny bit on my legs after shaving) but it might not be moisturising enough for people with dry skin. It sinks in straight away, as you rub it in it seems to feel really watery then it sinks in completely which i love as i hate feeling sticky, the scent also lasts quite well. I love the pump bottle as it saves having to get the bottle all greasy as you apply it, and i love how big the bottle is (especially with me having to buy it off ebay, it means i wont have to buy it that often) I layer it with my vanilla st ives body wash which you can buy in the UK aswell as the USA and like how it makes the vanilla scent last longer (as the bodywash scent doesnt last that long) So even though I have to pay about 3 times as much as people in the USA, its my HG body lotion and you do get such a lot for your money so i still think its good value. I would buy it again and again =)

Lip Gloss -MAC - Valentines Lipgelee
rated 4 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 9/18/2008 5:36:00 PM

I recently bought this lip gelee as i was looking for a lipgloss with a hint of colour to liven up a lipstick i bought from cult of cherry (lightly ripe) as i loved the colour but i like to have a glossy look to my lips. On its own it doesnt give much colour, just a very natural sheen to the lips, which i quite like, it looks gorgeous over 'lightly ripe' lipstick, it looks just like my lips but better, makes them look naturally pigmented and glossy, natural but polished. I love how its non sticky, as even though i love the lipglasses, their stickyness sometimes bothers me, you do have to apply lip gelees more often as its thinner and less sticky (the thicker, stickier lipglosses in any brand stay on longer than thinner less sticky lipglosses) so if you want something less sticky, you have to reapply more often, you cant have everything! The only things I noticed was that all the testers were leaking a little, i dont know if thats because some customers are careless about putting lids on testers properly or if its bad packaging, the packaging on mine seems fine but i just hope it doesnt leak in my bag or anything. Also ive use mine twice and both times after it wore off my lips felt a little dry (my lips are very rarely dry) Im not sure if this is a coincidence so Il wait and see and will edit my review if it continues. I said i wouldnt buy this again, only because i love trying new colours and i dont see it being my HG, although i do really like it and im glad i have it, i prefer the more pigmented glosses from MAC.

Blush -MAC - Matte Blush - Frankly Scarlet
rated 3 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 9/18/2008 5:26:00 PM

First of all im a blush addict, I have tons and I probably wouldnt have bought this if i was the type of girl who has maybe 1 or 2 blushers as I dont get much wear out of it, but since i have sooooo many blushers in pink/peach/coral etc I wanted to have a true red colour which this one is. If applied with the 187 VERY lightly, it gives a nice flush to my NC25 skin I have also tried it when my skin is much lighter NC15/NC20 (it changes alot because sometimes i fake tan and sometimes i just stay my usual pale self lol) this blush looks nice on both skintones providing you use it very lightly. Its also a pretty colour to use under a highlighter, it seems to soften it a little. I prefer my blushers to have a slight shimmer (but not glitter) to them and if this was the same colour but shimmery, i would be in love! I said i wouldnt buy again because i know i wont ever use it up, but i enjoy having such a unique colour and Im glad I bought it, Im always happy with the quality of MAC blushes, well worth the money.

Bronzers -Bourjois - Delice de Poudre
rated 2 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 9/18/2008 5:19:00 PM

I had such high hopes for this due to the reviews, especially when I thought it would smell like chocolate as I love anything chocolatey/vanilla scented, but the smell of this is awful, its hard to describe but it made me feel sick to my stomach (perhaps i got a dodgy one since everyone else seems to like it) I got the colour 52 the darkest as in the UK there is only one shade of this bronzer '52', a gold clubbing bronzer (which is VERY gold and metallic I dont know why anyone would wear it on their face lol) and a face highlighter which actually seems quite nice. I wish the lighter shade was available here. I tried this when i was NC25 and had a light tan, I was very disappointed, on my skin is was very dark, obvious and seemed quite hard to blend. Such a shame I didnt like it as the packaging is cute, but i think even if the bronzer had been nice I would have had to hold my breath to use it as the smell made me so sick, and Im not even that sensitive to make up scents usually. I definately wouldnt buy it again, but i can see how maybe darker skinned girls would like it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Go - Starflash Collection ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 8/24/2008 2:32:00 PM

I love this colour! Is a beautiful bronzey colour which can be very subtle to just define the eye or can be built up for a smokey eye look, its very versitile and I can imagine it suiting most people. Its my go to eyeshadow most days. The new starflash formulas blend like a dream, they arent too powdery and feel almost creamy and silky (even though they are powder) although im sure you could find dupes for this colour, the formula and quality probably wouldnt be as good.

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - Dark Eyeshadow Palette
rated 3 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 8/13/2008 4:17:00 PM

I am reviewing this just to let the previous reviewer (below) know that you can buy the eyeshadow 'cognac' seperately now...it came out as part of the new metallic eyeshadow range, they are beautiful. I work for Bobbi Brown. I just thought I would let you know since it was your favourite colour and now you will be able to buy it on its own without splashing out on a whole palette, hope this helps.

Lotions/ Creams -Korres - Quince Body Butter
rated 5 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 8/4/2008 2:36:00 PM

I adore this body butter. I only use this on my legs because they tend to get dry after I shave them, and this keeps them lovely and soft, I would use it on my elbows/hands too but for me it might be too rich for the rest of my body but thats because I dont have dry skin (besides my legs after shaving) I cant even begin to describe the scent, it reminds me of something, I cant think what, but I can tell you its a beautiful scent, its almost addictive! It takes a bit to rub in, but after its rubbed in, it doesnt leave you greasy for hours like some body butters do, I used it this morning after my shower and its 7:30pm now and my legs still feel really soft and soothed. I really like this product and I would like to try the vanilla-cinnamon scented products next because those are 2 of my favourite scents.

Fragrances -Chanel - No 5 Sensual Elixir
rated 5 of 5
smudged_eyeliner 8/3/2008 10:19:00 AM

I love this! Im not that keen on the actual No 5 perfume...but this smells a lot less old fashioned. It smells more 'creamy' if you know what i mean lol its hard to describe it just smells a lot warmer than the perfume, it lasts really well and the bottle is so glamorous. Its a very sexy scent I think. Dont be put off if you dont like the No 5 fragrance as I think its alot better.
