Shampoo -Kiss My Face - Frequent Use Whenever Shampoo
smdunn91 5/18/2013 10:34:00 PM
Okay, so I used this shampoo a while back when I received a trial size of the shampoo/conditioner, and I remembered it softening my hair a lot and making it shiny and manageable...well, either they've changed it since then (unlikely) or it wasn't this shampoo that did that for me. Even using it with the conditioner doesn't make my hair easier to deal with or soft like I remember from the past. PROS: - improves shine - smells good in the shower - not that expensive CONS: - causes hair to be coarse - scent dies after a few hours (which I don't like) - need to use a lot to get it to lather

Top/Base Coats -Poshe - Super-Fast Drying Top Coat
smdunn91 4/29/2013 1:39:00 PM
This is absolutely THE BEST top coat I have ever used. I've tried many...Sally Hansen, Seche Vite, Butter London...absolutely NOTHING compares. It really does what it says: dries to the touch in 1 minute, dries completely in 5. It has amazing stay power, too. My manicure lasted twice as long as usual without chips. I still had some edge wear, but that was after about 4 days rather than 1 or 2 days with other top coats. I really, really love this top coat. Unfortunately, and I'm not 100% sure if this is true or not, but I've heard it's been discontinued. I really hope not because I'm hoping to use this polish forever. I really cannot rave about it enough. Definitely my HG.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Not Your Mother's - Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo
smdunn91 4/15/2013 12:38:00 PM
This product works pretty well for what it's worth. I apply it to the roots where my part is and it dries up the oils on my non-shampoo days. I don't particularly care for the scent, but that's not a huge deal.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Not Your Mother's- Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

It didn't work. I already have wavy hair, and I thought this would accentuate the waves. Instead, it just coated my hair in gunk and didn't even make it wavier. Them smell is nice but that's pretty much the only thing I like about it.

Pretty much one of the better hairsprays I've used. Goes on easily, doesn't get crunchy, doesn't turn white and flaky. I used it for fly aways so I'm not sure about how it holds styles, but for what I use it for it's perfect.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Nina - Ultra Pro
smdunn91 4/12/2013 9:56:00 PM
Saw this polish at Sally's today and thought I'd give it a go since it was inexpensive and they were having a buy 2 get 1 free on all the polishes. The color I applied is called Never Glum Plum. After buffing, I used Butter London's base coat, 3 coats of the color, and BL's top coat. I wasn't expecting much because of the other reviews listed, but it isn't as bad as I thought. Pros: it dries fairly quickly, it's 3 free, the brush is thick and wide, and it's inexpensive. Cons: it's streaky which makes it difficult to make the coats even, and it's on the thicker side. I'd probably buy it again even though it isn't perfect. UPDATE: The polish chips fairly easily...after about 3 days it chipped. It also rubs off at the tips fairly easily as well. Where I work I'm constantly washing my hands and picking things up, so it is fairly easy for polishes to chip for me, but I've worn others that have lasted at least 5 days before chipping/wearing.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Not Your Mother's Way To Grow Long & Strong
smdunn91 3/12/2013 10:30:00 PM
Decent shampoo. I can't stand the smell, and it probably won't grow my hair out, but it has improved the overall health of my hair even after using it twice. I'm pretty sure if my hair does grow out it will be because of the 3 minute massaging-in of the shampoo rather than the shampoo itself. Anyway, I still like it even though it has its flaws. :) For being so cheap (Wal-mart!), being sulphate and paraben free, and not testing on animals...this product is amazing! UPDATE: I've been using this shampoo for about a month and a half now and I've decided that I do like it, but I'm going to try another shampoo after my bottle runs out. It still works for me, but it's starting to not make my hair super soft and my hair will get greasy after about a day (I only wash every other day, sometimes leaving an extra day of not washing in between). I'm just not sure that this is my HG shampoo. NEWEST UPDATE: I've switched back to this shampoo after using another shampoo for a few weeks and this is as close to a HG shampoo that I have gotten to. My hair is extremely soft again even just after 1 use.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain- Smitten
smdunn91 7/19/2012 3:56:00 PM
I heard good things about Revlon's new balm stains, and I recently picked up a lip stain addiction so I wanted it. The hunt to find this was actually quite annoying. I went to literally 5 different stores to find Smitten. Some stores don't even carry these balm stains yet. Anyhow, while I like how long it lasts and application is very smooth (I still prefer felt tip stains to this) I didn't care for the color. It is way too dark for me. So I only wear it occasionally. I'd love to get my hands on the Honey color, though.

Lips -New York Color - Smooch Proof Lip Stain
smdunn91 7/19/2012 3:53:00 PM
Very surprised with the NYC lip stain. I own a couple different drug store lip stains (Palladio, Revlon). Overall, I would say this is my favorite. I, unlike most, actually prefer the felt tip stains as compared to the balm-like stains like Revlon's new one. The pigment with this stain is amazing, it has good staying power (pretty sure 16 hours isn't right, but it last quite some time), and it's cheap. I paid about $4.50 for it at Target. I'm very happy with this product. I bought Forever Fuchsia and I plan on buying more colors soon.
