Concealers -Estee Lauder - Ideal Light Brush-On Illuminator

I love this concealer. I layer it on depending on my dark circles. I love the pinkish tone to this. It does make me look more awake than I thought it would! The MUA taught me to put it above my eyebrows and I never would have thought of that!! I would like it to be just slightly thicker with a little more coverage, but its still really good!! I always go back to this!!!!
HG alert! HG alert! HG alert! HG alert! HG alert! HG alert!!!!! Whatever I've ever said about any other mascara, I was dead wrong!!!! This one beats them all hands down! I've never had one that didn't leave little black flaky crumbs under my eyes by midday (until this!) I use my shu eyelash curler and then 1-2 coats of this. NO CLUMPS of any kind!!! Even 1 coat gives me pretty full lashes (lengthens and thickens - but more lengthening). My only complaint is that if I rub my eyes, or at the end of a very long day, I have dark makeup circles under my eyes. I still prefer that to flaking though! Also, if I don't get it all off before bed, I wake up with black undereyes!! But actually, who cares about that, since I just wash it off anyway! Don't know if I'll ever use another mascara again!
Lip Gloss -Philosophy - Powdered Sugar Cookie Lip Shine
slmaturo 5/16/2006 11:41:00 PM
This does smell like powdered sugar, but in a weird way to me. I don't like it as well as the cinnamon buns or lemon custard, but the color is better than the lemon one (more clear). Probably won't buy again as I like other ones better.
Lip Gloss -Philosophy - The Muffin Man Lemon Custard Lip Shine

How wonderful is it to get a lip product that SMELLS good enough to eat, but doesn't taste that way! (That way I don't lick it off within 30 seconds!) This reminds me of lemon squares. The fragrance is fairly long lasting compared to some. The color of this isn't my favorite, but is sheer, so it's not that noticeable, and I can deal with it for the smell!
Like the coverage with this. I only use it in the T zone really, and it does seem to cover my pores well. The pump issue can be solve by purchasing a pump from MAC (got mine online) and trimming the bottom slightly with scissors before putting on the opening of the jar. It fits perfectly! I've had it this way for months now, and it doesn't seem to be drying out or changing in any way!
Love the taste, smell, but the product consistency (slippery) and pigmentation are not to my liking. Not an even application of color, so I need a mirror to apply! If I'm going to go to that trouble, I'll use something a little fancier than this gelee. I wanted more of a pigmented version of a juicy tube I guess. JT is more sticky, and this isn't very sticky, which I usually prefer.
TOO shiny! Not flattering at all! And believe me, I usually like a lot of shine! Just doesn't look human in any way! I love all the lipglass/laquers etc., but I'm actually sorry I bought this!! Very opaque (which I also usually like!) Just something wrong with this!
YUMMY! Love the smell!! The taste is more subtle than the smell, and I'm not sure I'm just imagining the taste from the smell itself. I guess they say part of taste is derived from sense of smell anyway! I smell cinnamon and butter and this lasts for a while (compared to some smells of lip gloss). This is a thick and somewhat sticky gloss with some shine. Feels good on lips, but not the best for really chapped lips, more for just a nice gloss/mild moisture.
Treatments -Joey New York - Pures Pores Blackhead Remover Gel
slmaturo 2/9/2006 12:48:00 AM
RIS and had not read directions on how to use. To the back of my product "pile" of black head products it went. Have been extracting my pores with the tweezerman tool (see my review there) for months now. While getting lots of stuff out, my pores seemed no smaller on my nose, forehead or chin. Had been using PC 2% BHA after extraction (at MUA board suggestion) with no noticeable effect. I got the idea to use the Joey pure pores AFTER my extraction for some crazy reason, and actually read the directions (ie, let it dry and rub it off). Guess what? My pores shrunk before my eyes!!! Even in my super high powered magnification mirror they looked smaller!!! I've only done this 2X now, but feel my pores are smaller than they've been in years! (I inherited large ones from my mom!) Anyway, the stuff in my pores isn't black, so I don't know if this helps blackheads or not, but it sure seemed to help my pores! I'm going to keep at it and see if it continues to help and make sure it's not my imagination!!
I would love to give this a 10!! or more!! This dream cream is just that. My skin feels fabulous when I use it, it smells wonderful and My makeup stays on all day. It glides on and the rest of my skin looks almost airbrushed! Many comments on my skin when I use this. I like this a million times better than The Present. I don't like the smell of that one and the texture is not as smooth IMO. I will be incredibly upset if they quit making this! In fact, I've started stockpiling it just in case!!!!
Well, I got this as a sample from the sweetest swapper! Have to say that I love this fragrance and it is the best smelling rose fragrance I have ever smelled! So much so that I went and bought some already! My husband says I smell like roses whenever I walk by! It is actually very fragrant and lasts for hours! A classic scent!
Blush -L'Oreal - Feel Naturale Light Softening Blush- Plume
slmaturo 3/24/2005 7:08:00 PM
I have just tried this once because it is the same name as a blush I bought in highschool (oh - too long ago!) which I am still crazy enough to be using! (Although I've never had any problems with it and it smells fine - the concept is just starting to gross me out!) Anyway, this color looks extremely dark purple ?with a hint of red? in the package, but with a light hand, went on very prettily and blends fairly well. The color is definitely darker than my old L'Oreal blush in plume, but I'm going to guess I'm the only person on the planet still using that one!
Lipstick -Lancome - Rouge Absolu Creme in Champagne
slmaturo 3/21/2005 11:15:00 PM
Wow! I love this color!! RIS from a sweet swapper and I have to say, this is my current favorite L/S! Very medium bright pretty pink with a hint of red. L/S is fairly moisturizing as well, and I swear it is the ONLY L/S I have ever used where I thought it actually did plump my lips! Would buy this again and again!
Lipstick -Lancome - Le Rouge Absolu - Chiffon Blush
slmaturo 3/21/2005 11:11:00 PM
This is the color the Lancome model is wearing in their ad on the website presently, as well as the one on Sephora. There is a pair of pinkish lips next to a few pink rose petals. Well, I got this info from their customer service, and immediately bought this shade. My computer is pretty good with colors in general, but I was a little disappointed that this is a warmer pink with a hint of coral to it. Not as good for for my PPP complexion as a true pink! However, the packaging is great and I love the consistency of the L/S. It wears fairly long for a moisturizing L/S. Lancome needs more pinks in their L/S colors IMO!
Hair Styling Tools -T3 - Tourmaline Wet to Dry Straightening Iron
slmaturo 3/19/2005 1:27:00 AM
OK, I'm SHOCKED no one has reviewed this yet! (Or I just couldn't find it!) I have THROWN AWAY my hair dryer!! (Just kidding) But really, I can't remember the last time I even used it! This iron makes my hair straight and shiny (ala Jennifer Aniston) and works SO much better than anything I've ever tried! And I've tried a lot! You can use this on WET hair! I use a microfiber towel/turban when I get out of the shower, and by the time I'm ready otherwise, I can pretty much start using my iron. In 10-15 min or less, I have DRY, shiny straight hair. The thing actually has steam coming out the holes in it to evaporate the water in your hair. I have never seen my hair look this good, ever. Works even better with Biosilk Silk therapy on the wet hair and Thermasilk spray on leave in conditioner as a "setting mist". I admit the price tag is steep, but this thing is so easy to use, doesn't pull hair when moving it down the section, and saves me so much time (and damage) from not having to blowdry! If I could recommend one product to everyone in the world, I would pick this. The quality also seems great. I've had this a few months and despite using it with product in my hair (usually a crusty ugly mess results), the thing looks brand new. I don't know what to think about the whole tourmaline thing, but if that's why it works so well, then so be it! I think I could go on for days, but I'll restrain myself for now. BUY THIS TODAY if you can!!!
