Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid

Yes, it does have a whitish cast, but it subsides after application. What I like about this is the subtle matte finish and the fact that there is no stinging at all on my roseacea-prone skin. It's kind of a thin liquid, but that makes it easy to apply and ensure even coverage. If I'm not doing anything special I can almost feel like I can skip putting on makeup.

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Just for Men - Moustache and beard dye

Read about this in an Allure article. HG for sure. Have pesky white hairs in my increasingly sparse brows, which are very hard to cover up with powder, pencil, or any cosmetic product, at least for me and my modest skills. Had been having my colorist use hair dye when I go the salon, which makes a terrible mess and gets dye on your skin, is irritating, etc. This stuff mixes up in a pinch, takes only 5 minutes, doesn't drip and works like a charm. You get multiple applications from a single kit. Why did it take me so long to discover this? I think brow salons charge upwards of $30 for dye jobs! I got my box for $9, and you can leave it open for three months....

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Translucent Mattifying Powder

Just perfect for the purse for touching up nasty shiny spots. Very nice packaging for the price. For $3, how could you go wrong? This replaced a shiseido powder which was easily more than 10 times the price and had an awkward mirror/brush/multilevel thing that soon broke.

Cleansers -Formula 10.0.6 - So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser

This is the Bonne Bell 10.0.6 lotion from my distant past. I always loved it, and the scent is powerfully evocative of my teenage years. I use it to remove the morning's shine before putting on ce ferulic and sunscreen. My skin can be sensitive and in those periods I won't use it, but for now it's a great prep. Also good for removing oil prior to chemical peels.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF30
rated 4 of 5

Lovely daily moisturizer, and no stinging when my skin is sensitive. It's not gonna cure rosacea, but it certainly won't aggravate it. One gripe is that it is fairly thick, so you end up with a lot of product left once the pump basically stops working. So I get out the q tips etc. so I can use the entire bottle. During the summer, or if I am going to be outdoors a lot I usually put on something with a higher spf.

Mascara -Neutrogena - Healthy Volume Waterproof
rated 1 of 5

I was attracted to the idea of a waterproof mascara in carbon black.... I found this to be kind of dry, and worse, it smears and smudges terribly. L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black continues as my HG mascara. Although I love Neutrogena's hair products, skincare and sunscreens, I find their cosmetics to be extremely uneven.

Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk Root Perfect [DISCONTINUED]

This is so superior to the Clairol touch up kit. I think the sponge applicator is much easier to use. You can get the color just where you want it. It doesn't run at all. The coverage is really good, and the color match is excellent. And the price is right. It really lets me stretch out hair color appointments.
