Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega last lipstick in cherry picking

This is a lovely, very wearable bright fuchsia-red. It has a matte finish, but like the best of the MegaLast line, it is a nice, soft, comfortable matte. If you wear these all day every day, they can be somewhat drying, but balm underneath fixes that right up. I am very pale, and this color is bright, but it is not overwhelming or neon. I think it would look very nice on most skintones.

Hair Color -Ion - Color Brilliance Brights

I like this product a lot, save for the fact that it seems like the color just won't take on certain parts of my hair. I've been dying my hair myself for over fifteen years, and I've basically really done almost every color there is. Recently, thanks to a blessed change in my employment status, I was able to do "fun" hair again. Since I couldn't find SFX locally, I went to Sally to try this dye out. I got the hot pink, which I think is called Fuchsia, and Teal. Both turn out really vibrant and pretty on pre-bleached hair, and the teal especially seems to be very long-lasting. However, with both colors there seem to be random patches that I have to go back over after I've rinsed because the color won't grab the hair. I am pretty sure it isn't a product that I am using in my hair, as I've tried doing it after there are no products. Because this dye is so freaking thick, you can thin it out enough to distribute it and still get a very bright, almost neon color. I like using V05 conditioner because it is cheap, but I've also used thicker, more nourishing conditioners with the same results.

This is the perfect toner for icy platinum blonde hair. Beware though, because you *can* overdo it and end up with grey hair for a couple of days.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Whisper

I only have one of these, in the shade "Lust for Blush", but it is fantastic. This particular shade is the perfect MLBB for me. It feels nice, and it doesn't dry out my lips. I *love* that it has a semi-matte finish because it just looks so simple and timeless. I will definitely pick up more shades because the price is damn good too.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
rated 4 of 5

This review is for the waterproof version, which I bought accidentally. I don't like this as much as Maybelline's The Falsies Flared, but it is a very nice drugstore mascara. It has a wonderful brush, and the formula isn't too wet or too dry. I don't really notice any clumps, but to be quite honest I don't remember the last time I tried a mascara that had been released in the past 5 years that did clump. I think that most companies (drugstore, at least) did away with their nasty, clumpy brushes years ago.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin - Light
rated 2 of 5
slippingbeauty 3/9/2013 10:54:00 PM

There's really only a handful of skintones that this product works for. If you have one of those, good for you. The rest of us, who are either too dark or too pale, will just have to suffer on.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
rated 4 of 5
slippingbeauty 3/9/2013 10:53:00 PM

There are a lot of things that Cover Girl got right with this product, namely the package and the formulation. However, even though the shade range does appear to be pretty good between the blue-pump bottles and the Queen range, the lightest end of the spectrum again gets the least options. Unfortunately, even the lightest shade is about 1/2 to 1 whole shade too dark for me. It is heartbreaking to see it in natural light because it really does offer great coverage, and it lasts very well even on my combo skin. I have successfully lightened it with other products, which is why I can still give it four stars. I just wish Revlon and Cover Girl would get with the program and release shades that are true PPP.

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude
rated 5 of 5
slippingbeauty 3/9/2013 10:48:00 PM

It is pretty and long-lasting on my waterline, so it is a winner in my book. I've been waiting for more drugstore brands to bring out nude liners, and Rimmel's is fantastic. I am like NC10 so it is a hair dark in comparison with my skin, but if it's just on the waterline you can't really tell.

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15
rated 3 of 5

It is nice, but not all that. Honestly,I think the price is hugely inflated. The package feels "nice", but because the balm itself is so soft it breaks off and there goes $20+ down the drain. You can get your lips just as moisturized with something like Nivea balm for a lot less, and if it breaks or if you lose it it isn't a huge deal.

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Blush 831E Pearlescent Pink
rated 4 of 5
slippingbeauty 3/9/2013 10:43:00 PM

This is a very pretty, pigmented glowy golden pink. I've had mine for quite a while and I adore it. It's a good "gateway" blush if you aren't used to wearing a lot of color on your cheeks.

Cleansers -Ponds - Deep Cleanser Cold Cream
rated 4 of 5

It is a classic. I like the convenience of cloths, but I have never found a makeup removing cloth that gets as deep as this stuff does. I like to use it every few days just to make sure I am getting everything off. It has a nice, pleasant smell too.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup
rated 3 of 5
slippingbeauty 3/9/2013 3:36:00 AM

I would give this product about 4 stars if it were marketed as a tinted moisturizer. In terms of being a BB cream, I think it really falls quite short. It offers light coverage, and the finish is really glowy and dewy. I don't dislike this product because as a tinted moisturizer it does work quite well. The shade range could use a bit of improvement because some of the shades run a little dark.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
rated 4 of 5
slippingbeauty 3/9/2013 3:32:00 AM

I have been using this product for about a year, and I do like it a lot. It isn't perfect, and I don't think it has lived up to its "miracle product" hype, especially considering the price. However, since I got it with a discount at Sephora, I don't mind too much. The brush heads are expensive to replace, and I think that could be prohibitive for a lot of people. It really has made my skin smoother, and it has reduced my acne by about 30%, so I do like it and I will continue to use it.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
rated 5 of 5
slippingbeauty 1/4/2013 3:58:00 AM

This is a really good every day eye palette. It isn't the most exciting palette out there, but it is a very good workhorse. You can create a very simple, polished look using only this palette and some liner. It is pretty warm-toned, but I think that most lighter skintones can probably still pull it off quite easily.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in Dark Slate
rated 5 of 5
slippingbeauty 1/4/2013 3:53:00 AM

Ever since I tried Smashbox creme liner in Thunder I have been on a search for a longer-lasting dark taupey grey liner. I have grey-blue eyes, so on days when I don't want stark black liner, I like a nice greyish color. Most brown liners found at the drugstore are very warm reddish browns, so I tend to shy away from those. Infallible gel liner in Dark Slate is a very dark taupe grey, a little darker than the color of wet cement. It dries to a semi-matte finish, and even on my oily lids lasts most of the day. The brush it comes with is also very nice, and I like the packaging. I will definitely buy this again, it has become a HG.
