Lip Gloss -Chanel - Rouge Allure Insouciance 51
slidinstop 8/26/2011 11:51:00 PM
I generally don't invest a lot of money in glosses as I've never been a devout gloss person. I buy them then they just collect dust as I never use them. Well today I was milling around the Chanel counter and tested this gloss out, looking for something a tick darker than my favorite nude lipstick Clarins Rouge Prodige 122. And this was ON THE MONEY! as my summer tan is starting to fade being light complected I need a darker nude lip so I don't look washed out. I am beyond thrilled with this product and the fact it's a gloss just blows me away. ::sigh:: I am in LUST!

Liquid -Clarins - Everlasting Foundation SPF 15
slidinstop 6/30/2011 2:17:00 PM
I recently had a skin consult at my local Clarins counter and had been using up samples of the Radiance, which was to he my intended purchase that day, but inadvertently the girl put the Everlasting in my bag. Figured as I has it might as well try it before returning. Wound up keep it as I am absolutely IN LOVE with it for a summer heat/humidity foundation. I initially applied it with #55 Sephora Air Brush and it was too heavy of an application, but found if applied with the Real Techniques stippling brush it could be sheered out to nothing for the no makeup, amazing complexion look. 3/4 of a pump is more than adequate to do my entire face and down my neck. If I'm going out rather that out of doors for the day I do hit the high points of my face with a smidge of Skin Illusion foundation for that uber JLo-ey glow look, and reduce the amouny of the Everlasting accordingly. I do not like them mixed before application as I find they don't meld as well as layering them thinly, strategically. A super light hand keeps it from looking made up, and I have gotten tons of compliments on my "skin" when wearing it. This could very well could replace DiorSkin Nude as my HG!!!

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - HD Concealer

I feel the applicator is completely wonky... but I just twist up the product and use a brush to apply, which is really is my biggest complaint. A little of this goes a long way, but it completely buildable. I think it might feel a bit cakey if built up too much, but I've played around with it and it has never LOOKED cakey, if it did it'd get a only one lippie. I'm not sure it's worth the price... That'll depend on how long the product actually lasts. I don't wear makeup every single day, but 2-4 days a week on average, so I may have to update my review after it runs out. I currently have only had it 3 weeks... so the jury is still out. Overall I've been fairly happy with it... do I think this is an OMG I can't live without this ever???? Meh, not so much. Time will tell. I do think however it has considerably better coverage than my Smashbox Camera Ready Concealer 2.0, which I'd been wearing for the last year. I don't care for the packaging... It's been my experience that anything twisty/click tends to malfunction along the way and you have to break into the tubes to retrieve product that's held hostage. Also I notice as soon as I twisted it up the first time, there is product leaked around the inside of the applicator top that undoubtedly will be lost forever, unless I break the seal on the applicator top to retreive it when the rest of the tube is used up. Stay tuned... lol

Highlighters -Smashbox - Soft Lights - Shimmer
slidinstop 5/2/2010 12:51:00 PM
Purchased this from eBay in the color Lens and love it so much I want it in other colors. ( I also have it in a freebie duo of glimmer Smashbox sent me). It really gives an amazing warm glow to my skin yet mattify's at the same time and really diffuses the light on my skin... LOVE this. A little goes a long way and can't imagine ever emptying the pan. This stuff ROCKS!

Bronzers -Smashbox - Body Lights Glowing Lotion
slidinstop 5/2/2010 12:41:00 PM
I bought a huge tube of this off of eBay as I just don't hit the tanning salons anymore and being outdoors all Spring/Fall/Summer dressed I wind up with a farmer tan. I'm still fairly pale coming into May and if I want to wear a lower cut shirt, this just makes me look all glowy and sunkissed and you can't tell I put on a bronzing lotion. The shimmer it's too shimmer, just gives a really nice glow. The smell isn't horrible, just smells like any tanning salon lotion ( my hubby loves the way it smells). It isn't overpowering and layers quite well with my perfume. A little goes a long long way so this will last me forever.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eyeshadow
slidinstop 5/2/2010 12:25:00 PM
I purchased a single e/s in 'Minx', in the pot it has an eggplant hue, and when applied it's a lovely dusty purple with bronzy undertones. I wouldn't really call this color a shimmer so much as a satin. You can do the lightest wash of color to a very intense smokey eye depending upon type of brush used when apply. It's very blendable, lasts all day without creasing (I do wear an e/s base) whether outdoors in the heat, humidity or wind and doesn't wear off or fade. I will definately add more of Smashboxes eyeshadows to my collection... LOVE them!!!

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Wicked Lovely Eye Shadow Duo in Sexy/Demure
slidinstop 5/2/2010 12:18:00 PM
I purchased both the Sexy/Demure and Sinful/Pure off of eBay and even had a paid retail, my 5 lippie rating would remain the same. These colors, particularly the SD are a bit on the subtler side and are great for that perfect daytime soft sexy smolder. I love both color palettes and the wearability is amazing and they last all day without creasing (I do wear a e/s base) even being outdoors in the heat and humidity and wind. While they are shimmer colors they aren't too shimmery on the eyes. I absolutely LOVE these shadows and I wear them more than any others in my eyeshadow collection. They absolutely make my blue eyes pop.

Lipstick -Smashbox - Smashbox Photo Finish Lipstick - Elegant
slidinstop 5/2/2010 12:07:00 PM
I purchased a two pack of this color 'Elegant' off of eBay for the price of 1 cheap drugstore lipstick, had I spent full retail I would've given it one less lippie. For the money I spent $8.99 for two, I'm not going to complain too loudly, though I'll list pros/cons all the same. It has very warm yellowy undertones but really doesn't look bad on Pros: Fairly pigmented, very creamy, love the vanilla-y smell, decent staying power if applied over a lipstain (I wear a Lorac color as a base then apply this over before the Lorac dries) and I don't drink or eat. Color is buildable. Moisturizing. Cons: Eats, kisses, drinks off the lips fairly easy, even with a lip primer. Multiple touch ups required throughout the course of the day. If you want something you just put on in the morning and only have to touch up once during the day, this is not the product to buy. I love this color so much, I really don't mind reapplying, not to mention it smells devine.

Eyes -Smashbox - Eyelights
slidinstop 5/2/2010 11:56:00 AM
I bought three of these pallets, two in 'Special Effects' and one in 'In The Wild'. I absolutely LOVE the colors and the buildability, from the sheerest wash of color to very "made up". The SP I sent one to my sister who has olive coloring and hazel eyes, whereas I have more pink undertones and blue eyes and these colors look stunning on both of us. The smell is a bit odd to me, but not overpowering or noxious and once I have it on I don't notice it in the least, just when the case is open. These have AMAZING staying power. Course I always wear an e/s primer (Mac Paint Pot in Painterly) and they literally last all day even when outdoors in the heat and wind. While they're all shimmer colors, they don't come across as overly frosted when applied. I gave the pricing a 1 as I scored these off eBay for very little money. But even had I paid full retail (as I have with some of their other shadows) I would still feel the quality and payoff well worth the $$.

Conditioner -Kevin Murphy - Luxury Rinse
slidinstop 4/30/2010 11:42:00 PM
This review is for the Kevin Murphy HYDRATE-ME.WASH (wasn't listed in choices to select). I have been using this conditioner (and the shampoo) for the last three weeks and I am in absolute LOVE. I previously had been using Pureology for the last year and thought I'd never find anything I like better. The Hydrate-Me.Rinse is complete ecstacy for my hair. It's nourishing, devoid of unnecessary chemicals and I have absolutely no issues with any sort of build up or oily issues at the end of wearing 2nd day hair. The health and shine of my hair is amazing and I truly didn't think my hair, while color treated and very well taken care off, cut every 6 weeks like clockwork could feel any better than it did, which was already pretty amazing, was amplified x10 with these products... I have used Bumble and Bumble, Aveda, TiGi and a plethora of other shampoos out there and NONE of them can hold a candle to the Kevin Murphy... LOVE IT!!!!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
slidinstop 4/7/2010 8:57:00 PM
For years I have tried eye bases/primers with the same disappointing results inspite of all the reviews and claims. I have a tendancy for slightly oily eyelids, so wound up feeling greasy with the use of the primer products. For a time I used BE foundation to neutralize any oil, but really was too drying. I'd heard the RAVE reviews for MAC Paint Pot in Painterly and thought I would give it a shot... and OMG!!!!!!!! I LIVE for this product!!!! It really does provide the PERFECT canvas for all my shadow applications, and it WEARS ALL DAY, no creasing, no missing or migrating eyeshadows. I spend a great deal of time outdoors and my shadow stays perfect. I cannot say enough about this product!!!!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Color Correcting in Smashing Color Blend
slidinstop 4/7/2010 8:26:00 PM
I have been using Smashbox primers for years, the clear and the 2 in 1 luminizing primer, but recently switched to Blend. It is by far my favorite. It really evens out my skintone and makes my face very dewy looking and requires very little foundation to blend out. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product! It's one of my absolute must haves in my aresenal.
