Fragrances -L'Aromarine - Vanille
sleepyhead2 12/21/2009 4:48:00 PM
Five lippies all the way! A fellow Mua'er recommended this to me. At first, I was a bit skeptical because every body's take on the "perfect" vanilla is completely different. I ordered a bottle anyway with low expectations, only to be pleasantly suprised. This was love upon first spritz. The Perfect Vanilla- and it was all mine!! THere are no under tones to mess this fragrance up, no awful musk or anything. Just straight, sweet vanilla extract. If you love Avon's Natural Vanilla or the discontinued VS Beauty Rush Slice of Heaven, then you will love this. This is along the same lines, very similar, just yummy vanilla goodness. The bottle is super cute, art deco and a huge amount for your money. I believe my bottle is a 3.3 ounce and I paid a little under $20. The only down side is the lasting power. It is a pretty light scent and I find myself reapplying often. But, that is ok with me because of the amount that I have and the affordability of another bottle. This is my staple and hg vanilla. I will always repurchase this and would be crushed if it ever got discontinued. Every vanilla lover out there needs L'aromarine Vanille.

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Be Delicious
sleepyhead2 12/21/2009 4:31:00 PM
After sampling this, I just HAD to have it. I purchased the gift set for $55, so it wasn't that bad of a deal. Be Delicious is such a versatile scent. It is girly and fun, light and flirty. It has notes of green apple and other florals. I think that anyone can wear this scent. You can wear it in jeans and be casual or dressed up for a night out. No matter what, you will recieve compliments on this scent! I adore the shape of the bottle, i think it is really cute. I don't recommend the lotion it came with because it smells plasticky and off. However, the perfume itself is wonderful. The lasting power is pretty good. I sprayed this on my shirt before I went to bed and woke up and still smelled it. Great scent!

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Cashmere Vanilla Jasmine [DISCONTINUED]
sleepyhead2 12/21/2009 4:23:00 PM
I really liked this scent when I first purchased this. I was blown away as to how clean and pretty this smelled. Initially, it reminded me of Downy's Lavendar vanilla fabric softener, so cozy, comforting and clean scent. But then, after and hour or so, I noticed that it became masculine. I kept smelling a man's cologne or deoderant and realized that it was from the Vanilla Jasmine. I didin't notice it before and actually thought my sniffer was off, so I sprayed again the next day. Once again, I detected that masculine note. Sadly, this didn't work for me. The initial spritz is nice, but after a bit, I don't like smelling like a dude, so I wouldn't repurchase.

Fragrances -Escada - Magnetism
sleepyhead2 12/21/2009 4:17:00 PM
Magnetism is great blend of fruity and cotton candy. To my nose, I detect a small hint of pepper? I know that sounds kind of strange, but that's the combination i smell. It is a really nice scent and typical of Escada's fruity, fun and girly theme. One thing I noticed right off the bat, was that it smelled awfully similar to Paris Hilton's Can Can. Almost identical, actually. But with Magnetism, there is something more that makes it a sexy scent. I detect blackberry and musk as well, to help round out that cotton candy and vanilla note. This is a perfume, but wears more like a body spray because the staying power is so-so and is a light fragrance. The other down side is the bottle. The way it is shaped makes it easy for it to topple over. Although I do like this scent and have recieved compliments on this, I probably wouldn't repurchase, because it just doesn't have that wow factor for me.

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Vanille Extreme
sleepyhead2 11/1/2009 9:05:00 AM
Vanille Extreme.... the name is a little misleading, I think. I bought this unsniffed, and was expecting mounds of vanilla goodness. Upon first spritz, like other reviewers mentioned, I immediately noticed a cherry note. As in cherry chip cupcakes. I liked it alot, but wasn't expecting that at all. Fast forward to about half an hour or so, I smelled that vanilla goodness. Warm, bakery vanilla cake, pure yumminess. I haven't owned many CSP scents, but the ones that I have tried, I have noticed that the dry down is nearly always the same. It's a good thing that I do enjoy the typical CSP vanilla dry downs. As many have mentioned, the staying power isn't the greatest. And the can.... why does it cost so much for such a plain can? Overall, this is a great scent, I was just surprised that it wasn't as "vanilla-y" as the name implies.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Chocolovers EDT
sleepyhead2 11/1/2009 8:56:00 AM
I have a love/hate relationship with Chocolovers. Some days I like it and others, not so much. It's the citrus note that makes me apprehensive. I would adore it if it was all chocolate with vanilla notes. This reminds me of those chocolates that you whack open, the chocolate orange flavor. I don't detect a milk chocolate, but more of a dark chocolate with a bit of liqueor. This scent is sweet, but because of the notes, it smells a little bitter. I really have to be in the mood to wear this one. However, I really like the drydown. A couple hours after spritzing, this does morph into a softer, sweeter scent minus the bitterness. Would I buy again? Not at full price.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Sexy Little Things Noir
sleepyhead2 10/25/2009 11:10:00 AM
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet, as it is one of my favorites. A holy grail? Absolutely! When this first came out, I didn't even bother to test it out. I had gotten tired of VS predictable fruity or yet another Heavenly concoction. One day in the store, they were burning the oil and I could not believe how amazing it smelled. I am not good at describing specific notes, but to me, this is a soft, powdery floral. This reminds me of DK Cashmere mist, but a sister scent with amber notes. So pretty! I have Sexy Little Things Noir in all forms, the body spray, solid perfume, lotion and the edp. It stays consistent in all of these. My least favorite would be the edp, not because the scent, but because of the stupid atomizer. I hate scents that have an atomizer bulb thing. I find that only a small fine mist sprays out and is awkward to spray and hold. I would prefer if it came in a standard sprayer. The lasting power is pretty weak though. I do understand that it is a "soft" scent, but I like when my scents are pretty strong. Sexy Little Things Noir definatley lives up to it's name, a very sexy and seductive scent! This scent is beautiful and has become a huge staple of mine.

Fragrances -Salvatore Ferragamo - Incanto Shine
sleepyhead2 10/18/2009 10:55:00 AM
I am really surprised to see the mixed reviews on here. I bought this unsniffed (most of the time, that proves to be disasterous for me) and my first spritz, my hopes were dashed a bit. But....wait for it..........a few minutes later, I was in love! Incanto Shine is similar to DG Light Blue(one of my hg), however, it gets better. In addition to the Light Blue vibe, I detected candy, not the sickeningly sweet kind, and flowers. It instantly took me back to when I was a little girl. Playing in the sunshine, going to the fair, my first crush, you get the idea. This scent is the epitomy of girly-ness! This is such a young (and I mean that in the sense of feeling like a kid), fun and girly scent. This isn't like a fake candy note or cotton candy. Love this and it is now one of my HG scents! The staying power isn't that great. 3-4 hours at the most, and it is reminicent of the staying power of a body splash. That is the only reason I took a lippie off. The bottle is super pretty, but it's what's inside that will blow you away.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Bean Noel Body Splash
sleepyhead2 10/14/2009 6:39:00 PM
Yeah- Victory! Finally, BBW heard our cries. They nailed it and finally got it right. This year's Vanilla bean noel body splash smells amazing, just like the lotion and body cream. In past years, the splash was awful, it smelled plasticky and burnt, nothing at all like the lotion did. I even have a splash that is 2 years old and compared the two, and there is a vast difference. The awfulness is completely gone and is replaced with a sweet, caramelly, creamy goodness. Reminds me of cookies! Love this version so much, so definately give the splash a try this year, you will not be disapointed.

Polishes -Hard Candy - Frenzy
sleepyhead2 10/14/2009 6:15:00 PM
Frenzy is such a cool color. I don't think that I could describe accurately enough how gorgeous this shade is. It is uber hot, a green/blue teal. This formula is a cream and looks really cute on! Now for the cons: The formula is pretty thick. It takes a really long time to dry, especially in between waiting to apply more coats. So, be prepared to be immobile for a while. 2. As cute as this color is, the removal was horrifying. I used pure acetone and it gets any color, glitters off no problem. The polish did come off, however it left me with smurf fingers. I did apply base coat, as I do with any of my other polishes, and this is the 1st polish that stained my nails this bad. I have very slight ridges on my nails, and a blue tinge stuck onto them like glue. If you plan on repainting your nails after taking off Frenzy, don't use a sheer or light polish. Overall, cute and I mean absolutely hot shade, but the end result was pretty disappointing.

Fragrances -Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy
sleepyhead2 10/14/2009 6:08:00 PM
Hopefully this will teach me to not use retail therapy as a comforting tool when having a bad day. I did horribly on my exam, and of course, went shopping. I purchased this unsniffed, because the really cute packaging and remembered it being popular here on mua. First of all, the price is ridiculously expensive. The package it came in was super cute, and the bottle itself was so pretty with the pink bow. I was expecting to be blown away .....and then....nothing.....I see alot of similarities between this and Betsey Johnson and a bit of Curve Crush. At least Betsey and Curve Crush have some strong staying power. I sprayed this on, and within 10 minutes, I had to literally sniff my wrists just to smell it. I like my scents to have some kind of oommph to it, especially with this kind of price. I think that this is such a mainstream scent that people go "oh, it's juicy couture! the best scent ever!". If BBW or coty made this, I think the comments would be drastically different. Viva la Juicy, in my opinion, is a very light and generic scent. I think that you are paying more for the bottle and packaging then what is actually inside.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Twilight Woods
sleepyhead2 10/14/2009 6:00:00 PM
Oh my goodness! This is my new fragrance obsession at the moment. When this first came out, I didn't think too much of it, thinking that it would be another heavy, musky scent (ie: chocolate amber, black amethyst). I purchased the preview lotion size and was pleasantly surprised. This is very similar to BBW Sensual Amber or even VS Amber Romance but more toned down. I am not a fan of sensual amber, I think that it is overly sweet and too musky of a scent for me to wear. This does have that distinct amber note, but not too sweet or cloying. Sounds so wierd, but the first thing that popped into my head was amber romance and jellly beans, lol. Yup, a few of those purple jelly beans and I don't know why. The best thing is that in the dry down, there is no musk that I can detect at all. Twilight woods is cozy and sexy at the same time. Cozy as in comforting, like wrapping yourself up in a nice blanket and a good book. AND sexy, you can wear this on a night out and dressed up really cute for a date night. The first time I wore it, my BF said it smelled amazing and he NEVER notices any of my scents. That's a thumbs up for sure. This is the perfect scent for fall/ winter. Because of a super nice SA, I was able to buy the full size lotion and body splash today, 2 weeks before it is supposed to launch in stores. I left BBW super happy :)

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Ralph HOT
sleepyhead2 10/4/2009 1:41:00 PM
I got Hot, because BBW discontinued Brown Sugar and Fig and had heard that this was very close to that scent. I defintaley detect Brown sugar and fig notes, but Ralph Hot has characteristics of it's own as well. I smell a little more coconut added to the mix, maple, vanilla and some kind of ....fruit? I really like it! So, this is a very good alternative. The lasting power is pretty good, I spray it on and can still detect it after a few hours. It smells really warm, cozy and comforting. The kind of scent that you want to curl up in a throw on the couch on a cold day.

Fragrances -Coty - Princess
sleepyhead2 10/4/2009 1:34:00 PM
To me, this is a waaayyyy toned down version of Angel. Not that it is a dupe or anything, but some slight similarities. Maybe it is the chocolate note that I am detecting? Princess, to me, smells like cotton candy, dark chocolate, a little bit floral and maybe a marshmallow or 2 in there. It's not my absolute favorite HG scent, but it is nice for cooler weather. I absolutely adore the bottle, it's so cute! Overall, a sweet (but not too gourmand) scent that is girly, and sexy at the same time.

Powders -LUSH - Candy Fluff Dusting Powder
sleepyhead2 10/4/2009 1:28:00 PM
After years of wondering what the fuss was about Lush, I was finally able to go to an actual store! Yeah! I was debating between Candy fluff or Silky Underwear, but got the Candy fluff because of all the good reviews. First of all, the size was pretty impressive. I was expecting a tiny cansiter, but this was pretty big and a good price for the amount you get. I don't find it to be a horrible pain in terms of messiness. I leave my jar upright and sprinkle some on my hand. I don't normally do glitter on my body, but this one doesn't bother me, as it is really fine and is actually really pretty. The scent at first was hard to put my finger on, it smelled so familiar! My boyfriend nailed it, it smells like Swedish fish and candy necklaces. Very sweet, fun and girly scent. It doesn't last all day, but i am able to get small whiffs of it. Like other reviewers, I sprinkle a little on my sheets and a tad on my pillowcase. There is so much of this, I don't see myself running out any time soon, but when I do, I will definatley repurchase.
