BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
skylo0406 11/30/2012 10:01:00 PM
This is the only BB cream I have tried and I have to say I am really impressed. I kind of thought it would be a lot like a tinted moistorizer, which usually leaves my skin very oily, but it isn't. I have moderate acne and dry skin as well. After I wash my face in the am I put on the BB cream. I find that it takes the place of using a moistorizer. It leaves my skin feeling and looking fresh, smooth, and not at all oily. I do use my regular cover up (Neutrogena Skin Clearing coverup) to touch up the major inperfections and I'm done. It lasts all day and even at the end of the day my skin isn't super oily. Would definatly buy again and again.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
skylo0406 6/4/2011 2:40:00 PM
I was using Proactive for a while and it did clear up my acne. My skin was the clearest it had been in years. But it also left my skin irritated, peeling and with rough, dry patchs everywhere. Instead of fighting acne everyday I found myself fighting all of the peeling and dry spots. And what good is it to have clear skin if it looks like cramp, right? The best thing about this product however, is that it taught me how to take care of my skin. My system came with a book of doctor's secrets which taught me a lot about what acne is, that there is no "cure" for it and that you can control it. I stopped using the Proactive and came up with my own "acne" system. I use Aveeno Skin Brighting Daily Scrub in the morning and I love it! It gentally exfoilates and leaves my skin smooth and glowing. I follow that with plain witch hazel (my toner). After that I use the Proactiv Repairing Lotion (only to the areas that I breakout the most). Then I apply Cerave only to my dry areas (forehead, side of my nose, etc.) Then I use Oil of Olay Daily Renewal Cream all over my face and neck, which I also love. I do the same at night but I use an acne wash (Acne Free Oil Free Acne Cleanser which was like $6 a Walmart for a huge bottle of it!) instead of the Aveeno scrub. The key, for me atleast, is to make sure that any products I use on my face is OIL FREE. Even my coverup and blush are oil free. The only product that is not techically oil free is the Cerave, but it only has glycerin, not mineral oil and I only use it on the areas that are very dry. My skin is just as clear as it was when I was using proactive but it looks so much better! I think the trick is finding your own system of products that together help control your acne while keeping you skin beautiful. I do still use some products that came from my Proactiv kit, the Reparing Lotion and the Refining Mask which I only use as a spot treatment. I tried it as a mask and it really angered my skin. But as a spot treatment is is awesome! It really shrinks and minimizes a zit without making the area around it peel and flake. I also got their Oil Free Moisterizer with sps 15 (freebie) which is ok but I wouldn't buy it. I would buy the Repairing Lotion and the Refining Mask again, usless they start selling something like it at my local drugstore :)

Scrubs -Aveeno - Skin Brightening Daily Scrub

I was very suprised to see so many negitive reviews for this. I started using it about a month ago and I love it. I have very sensitve, combo, acne prone skin. I use this every morning and it leaves my skin smooth and glowing. I do only use it once a day (I use an acne wash at night) so maybe that has something to do with it.

Sunscreen -Coppertone - Coppertone Water Babies Pure and Simple, Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 50
skylo0406 6/4/2011 1:36:00 PM
I know, I know we are supposed to use sunscreen to protect our skin from premature aging everyday. And everything I read says that we should use something with an spf of 30 or higher. So why is it that every facial moisterizer and coverup I find (that is oil free and has spf) only has an spf of 15 or 20?! So I finally accepted that fact that I wasn't going to get enough coverage out of my makeup or moitsterizer. And I found this. It is oil free, fragrance free, dye free, and has spf 50. It is perfect for my sensitve, acne prone skin. I use it under my makeup and it actually makes a nice base for my makeup. Totally recommend to anyone looking for a good facial sunscreen.

Moisturizers -Olay - Age Defying Daily Renewal Cream - Beta Hydroxy Complex
skylo0406 5/15/2011 10:00:00 PM
I have been on a quest to find the perfect moisterizer. I have very dry skin that breaks out very easily. I have been trying to switch to products that are oil free because I know that they make my acne worse. The problem is finding a cream that moisterizes well and is oil free. I was very superized when I started using this. I wash my face with an a oil free acne wash (right now I am using Acne Free oil free cleanser), put on Cerave, and then this. The combination of the three seems be working pretty good for me. My acne is controlled and so is the dryness. Also it leaves my skin very smooth and glowing.

Lipstick -Hard Candy - Painted Lady Lipcolor in Flirt #201
skylo0406 5/1/2010 8:35:00 PM
First of all I hate most lipsticks. The smell, the taste and the dryness of it. I have been a lipgloss user for years because of this. However gloss just doesn't have much staying power and I am always looking for a frosted pink that will last a little while longer that the average gloss. I love this! It has better staying power and it doesn't have that "plastic" smell and taste to it. It also isn't drying at all! A must try.

Beautiful colors that make my hazel eys look greener. A little goes a long way and it has great staying power. Will buy again.

Polishes -Sinful - Daddy's Girl

I agree with others that have rated this polish. The color in the bottle is beautiful. That being said, getting the color on your nails that is shown in the bottle is a whole nother story. I tried using several different colors as a base coat in order to acheive this color, red, black, blue, and silver. What I found worked the best was a pearl white-silver color that I have. One coat of the pearl and two coats of the purple and I get a pretty close representation of the color in the bottle. It is a beautiful interesting color, it is too bad that I have to work so hard to get there.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation Matte Formula
skylo0406 10/27/2009 3:38:00 PM
I have tried so many mineral foundations from cheap to expensive. I got a EM free sample kit a couple of months ago and I love it. I tried most of the formulas and think I like the matte the best. It still gives that "dewy" finish without looking too shiny. I have very sensitive skin and have had no trouble with this makeup. BE made me itch sometimes and other mineral makeup I have tried either doesn't cover well or it is full of crazy ingredients, which is one of the reasons buy mineral make up in the first place! Love EM blush and concealers too. Will def buy again when my samples run out.

Lip Gloss -Mary Kate and Ashley - High Gloss/Lip Stain
skylo0406 9/22/2009 5:11:00 PM
I got this at Walmart for about $3. It is the light pink shade (the color name was on the plastic wrapping but not on the gloss itself). I love this stuff!! It lasts a long time on my lips, doesn't dry my lips out and tastes great. I use it with a darker mauve liner and when the two colors mix the make this very pretty nude shimmery color. I don't use the clear gloss side of it because it is a bit too shiny of a look for me. I usually use a lip balm over it instead.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Kabuki Face Brush
skylo0406 9/15/2009 4:51:00 PM
As with most products that I have purchased from E.L.F. this brush is pretty wonderful. I love how soft it is and it is really pretty. I also have to point out that my puppy got a hold of it twice before I even got to use it once. I washed it with (he only got it a little slobbery) with warm water and baby wash and it is as good as new. I disagree with the review that it can't be used for mineral foundation. That is the only thing I use it for and it works great for me. It is way better then my BE kabuki that is scratchy, sheads, and is waaaaaay more expensive.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Waterproof Eyeliner Pen
skylo0406 9/11/2009 3:46:00 PM
This was exactly what I was looking for in a liner. I have tried the liquid liners and they are look really fake on me. I have also tried gel liners and the are way too hard to apply. I use pencil liners but hate how they fade and smudge and need sharpening etc. This is perfect. It is easy to apply, doesn't smuge or fade and lasts all day. It even washes off pretty easy too. And you can't beat the price!! $1.00!!!

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Plumping Lip Glaze - Plum pout
skylo0406 9/11/2009 2:59:00 PM
I love most of E.L.F products and I do like the plumping lip glaze but I didn't like this color. There really isn't anything "plum" colored about it. It was more or a orangey red color.
