BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
sksterling 9/19/2012 3:28:00 PM
I am fair with acne prone sensitive skin. This has good coverage, and a nice finish. BUT, it oxidizes like crazy. I wore "light" to work today and my boss asked me if I had been spray tanning again, I said "no, do I look orange?" and he said "yes". when i got home i looked in the mirror and i was definitely rather orange. not ok. maybe the other colors would work on darker skin, but for fair ladies, stay away.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Viviscal
sksterling 7/16/2012 8:50:00 PM
I used this for about 8 months and it really makes your hair and nails grow like crazy. Even my baby hairs around the hairline grew longer. HOWEVER, it gave me cystic acne like you wouldn't believe. I couldn't figure it out, but I happened to stumble upon info on the internet that a common complaint with Viviscal is worsening of cystic acne. I stopped taking it, and the acne went away. If you are not acne prone, it is really magical how thick and long it makes your hair. For me, it wasn't worth the zits.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Naturals Cleanser + Makeup Remover
sksterling 2/4/2012 1:40:00 PM
This stuff is really nice. It gets all my makeup off (Double Wear and non-waterproof mascara). The smell is "crisp", but not bothersome. It foams quite well, and rinses off easily. For $6, I think it's a bargain. I have reactive skin, and I had no trouble with this.

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
sksterling 2/4/2012 1:36:00 PM
Boy, was this crap. I know you can't expect a miracle for a dollar, but I could have bought a scratch-off lotto ticket! This primer took forever to dry once applied. Then it did nothing to extend stay of eyeshadow, and NO crease prevention. My shadow looked better with no primer. Don't waste your dollar on this little disappointment.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Naturals Multi-Vitamin Nourishing NIght Cream
sksterling 2/4/2012 1:33:00 PM
I purchased this for about $15 at Target based on my liking of the Naturals cleanser. This cream comes in a pretty nice glass jar, which is unusual for Neutrogena. The cream has a whipped, creamy texture, and is packed with vitamin C, E, and anti-oxidants. It absorbs quickly, and leaves my face moisturized, not greasy. The finish is very natural and not greasy. I have hyper-sensitive skin, prone to redness and I have not had any problems with reactivity or breakouts. I am hoping the vitamins will reduce some dark spots, but only time will tell. This cream feels more expensive than it is, which is a plus. The only downside is Neutrogena will probably yank it from their lineup in a couple months and I'll need a replacement!

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Just So
sksterling 2/18/2010 10:52:00 AM
Chanel has a new ad featuring Vanessa Paradis for Rouge Coco. I bought this trying to recreate that look. And it WORKED! I actually was able to do the whole recreation using Rimmel. The lip color is a cool pink/rose color. As for the formula itself, smells good, covers in one coat, and stays put. I'd say it's a satin finish, I blot with a tissue to make it more matte......mine was 5.29$ at Walgreens.

Hair -Carol's Daughter - Tui Leave-In Conditioner
sksterling 4/5/2009 5:48:00 PM
So disappointed. I have thick curly shoulder length hair. I tried this on wet hair, I tried it on dry, and it didn't help with any frizzies. In fact, It made my hair frizz more. I even tried it as a setting lotion (sprayed towel-dried hair, put in rollers, put on dryer cap). Still not good!!!! It gave me a halo of frizz. I got this because the black vanilla was recalled at my Sephora. But after this experience, I might not want to try that one either.

Sunscreen -Clarins - (New Formula) UV Plus Day Screen SPF 40 High Protection with E3P
sksterling 3/16/2009 8:15:00 PM
I got this at Marshall's for $12.99 USD. I believe it's $40 normal retail. I have dry and sensitive acne prone skin, and I use this everyday. I tend to burn rather easily since I began to approach 30. Especially in North Eastern Ohio when it can be 20 degrees, yet so sunny you can get a sunburn without protection. I have not had any issues with my sensitive skin, nor any breakouts with this sunscreen. I think the trick to not breaking out with sunscreen is that you have to have a cleanser that removes it. I like the high SPF. It sinks in quite nicely and allows foundation (liquid) to adhere, rather than pill or just sit on top of the skin. It is very watery in consistency, but with the needle-tip squeeze tube I have had no issues with squeezing out too much. I would buy this even if I could not find it at Marshall's or TJ Maxx.

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
sksterling 2/25/2009 10:46:00 PM
Never considered this a beauty product, but I guess it is since you can use it as a jack-of-all-trades in your makeup arsenol. I have had great sucess with Murad face wash, but it left the corners of my mouth dry and tight and discolored. I was putting Neosporin on it when my mom shared some advice: My mother's derm told her to use Vaseline instead of Neosporin on her dry skin because Neosporin is a triple-antiseptic which can be irritating. I slapped on the Vaseline and it healed right up! Sometimes less is more? Now I smear Vaseline on my lips, under eyes, cuticles, sides of my nose, anywhere that feels dry or tight, or anywhere that's peeling. I am EXTREMELY acne-prone, but this doesn't seem to clog my pores or anything. I think it's because it's just one little ingredient?

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
sksterling 2/25/2009 10:40:00 PM
These are the plastic-y sheets, as opposed to the paper ones. Since I can't find the original Papier Poudre blotters they used to sell at The Body Shop, these C&C ones work just as well, without leaving anything behind. They really absorb alot of oil, as you will be able to see when the sheet comes out clear. It doesn't smudge any makeup, and you can usually find the generic ones at most stores. I have tried CVS, Walgreens, Target, and Wal-Mart's brands and they all work the exact same.

Liquid -Fusion Beauty - BioActive Mineral Intuitive Soft Focus Fluid Foundation SPF10
sksterling 1/23/2009 9:07:00 PM
If you have nothing to hide (blemish, redness, etc) then this will give your face a nice even glow. I have redness and a few dark spots and this interesting purple gritty lotion did nothing. If it was not so darn expensive it would be really great leg makeup for when you want to go without stockings. I got mine for $12.99 at TJMAXX, but I would never pay $49 dollars or whatever for it.

Highlighters -Fresh - Satin Luster
sksterling 1/11/2009 9:15:00 PM
Like another reviewer said, you are getting 3 highlighter colors for $45. And they come in a convenient case. I especially like that they are a cream to powder formula. They look extreme if you test them on your hand, but once you put them on your face they blend right in. I use the white for an eye highlighter, the pink for cheekbones, and the gold for the cupid's bow. I have been using this everyday and am beginning to think Fresh believes in "quality, not quantity" since their line is limited but amazing.

Cleansers -Fresh - Soy Face Cleanser
sksterling 1/11/2009 9:11:00 PM
Yes, it is expensive, BUT very much worth it in this case. Great smell (cucumber) and it takes off all my makeup without drying. I can actually use this cleanser without having to slather on a moisturizer immediately afterwards. You only need a little bit, so I feel it lasts a long time compared to the price. It has gentle foam, and rinses really easily. I bought the $15 travel tube at Sephora, and plan on purchasing the large tube ($38) when I run out.

Loose Powders -Boots - No. 7 Skin Defence Loose Powder 05 Medium
sksterling 11/28/2008 10:54:00 PM
UGH! Smells horrendous. I bought this thinking it looked rather nice, but it smells really funky. Finish is also very flat. There are better powders out there.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
sksterling 11/22/2008 12:24:00 PM
This is supposed to go over the DDML or DDMG. If you use the whole Clinique system, It goes: Soap, Exfoliant, DDML or DDMG, Treatment (Turnaround or Even Better), then the Moisture Surge. That's kind of alot of stuff to smear on twice a day. I found this to be pretty nice when used as a 'sealer" as the SA explained to me, but after a week of the system, it got annoying and went back to the store. I just find it unnecessary. It moisurizes well over a regular moisturizer, but I think one should be enough. It's also kind of sticky. No good for dry skin, probably can be used alone for oily skins.
