Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
sk8terac 8/2/2010 5:53:00 AM
A little goes a long way for this product, you really don't need a lot. I squeeze a dot of concealer on the back of my hand and apply it with a brush. A good concealer for over-all facial imperfections like acne or hyperpigmentation. I wouldn't recommend it for under eye use because it tends to crease and settle into lines. The packaging is practical and no wastage.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Soap & Glory - Girligo Spray-On Body Moisturising Mist

This smells delicious! It's a spray on moisturiser which is great for lazy people like me who hates getting lotion all over my hands. It also feels amazing spraying it on as an after-sun.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
sk8terac 5/12/2010 1:21:00 PM
It is a really solid blush, but I feel that it is a bit over hyped. It is a great colour and the pigmentation is stellar. I do really like it and I find myself reaching for it very often. It is a fool-proof blush colour-wise but I do think it's very overpriced.

Polishes -OPI - Mad as a Hatter [DISCONTINUED]
sk8terac 5/12/2010 1:16:00 PM
I absolutely love this! It looks like the secrets of the universe’s stardust all collected and distilled into one bottle of awesome. It looks absolutely stunning when it catches the sunlight. I just can't take my eyes off my hands! It is difficult to remove but what do you expect with glitter? I tried doing some kind of gradient with this polish but it is hard to control the distribution of glitter. A must-have by any means!

Lipstick -MAC - Glaze in Pervette
sk8terac 5/10/2010 12:00:00 PM
I absolutely love this lipstick! I bought this while I was browsing the lipsticks at MAC while waiting for my friend to pick a nude lipstick. I usually hate straight-out pink lipsticks but I was blown away by the blue sheen of it, it's like Stars n' Rockets for the lips. It looks mauve and lavender-ish on my lips. This looks wicked over Petals n' Peacock from the Liberty of London collection. I love layering this with other lipsticks, since I'm gravitated towards brighter colours, but this lipstick is certainly is stellar.

Fragrances -Chanel - Chance
sk8terac 5/3/2010 6:31:00 AM
I bought the Eau de Toilette instead of the Eau de Parfum as a result of a blunder in the Duty Free. I was too tired and I didn't realise it until I got home and it didn't help that all the bottles and boxes looked identical. Oh well. That being said I am very impressed by the Eau de Parfum (tester). I could still smell it after 12 hours at the same intensity and the scent did not change like many other perfumes does. Although the floral notes have disappeared a little the base notes of vetiver and musk is really strong. The Eau de Toilette is in comparison much weaker than the parfum, like what most EdT do. However it lasts just as long as the EdP. But after being blown away from the EdP, the EdT doesn't really do it for me. By all means I would recommend it for a more office-friendly environment. Luckily it's only 50ml and I would happily buy the full-sized EdP. By all means Chance is a beautiful, warm and feminine fragrance. I love the masculine edge to it when it dries down. It modern and simple. I couldn't stop sniffing it every time I put it on!

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Be Delicious Fresh Blossom EDP
sk8terac 4/23/2010 2:19:00 AM
Fresh Blossom is a very pretty and fresh fragrance. It smells a bit woody and citrusy but it sets down to a floral scent. Even though the scent is pretty light, it is still strong enough to not smell like soap. It is perfect for spring, very feminine yet not overpowering. I would repurchase it but I don't see how I'm going to ever finish the original 50ml.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco - Paris
sk8terac 4/2/2010 2:56:00 AM
Paris is a gorgeous raspberry red, slightly leaning on the fuchsia side. It looks quite vampy in the tube but don't be scared by it because it applies a lot lighter. It is definitely a workable red for those who are colour shy. The Rouge Coco formula is very hydrating and creamy. It applies well and evenly. It has a very faint smell of rose. When it fades it leaves a really pretty pink stain.

Lipstick -MAC - Fresh Salmon
sk8terac 4/2/2010 2:31:00 AM
I love Fresh Salmon! I'm so sad I didn't buy a back up. Although the lustre formula isn't the best but when you build it up it's such a cute coral. It brightens up my face and compliments my Asian skin tone very well. This might sound a bit cliche but I feel so fresh wearing this. I would definitely repurchase if it wasn't a LE!

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Matte
sk8terac 4/1/2010 11:35:00 PM
I don't understand all these negative reviews! I went into NARS to buy Sheer Glow, but because I was having a bad skin day - a combination of both jet lag and pollution and the MUA matched me to Sheer Matte instead, which was probably a good move because it is edging into Spring and Summer and my oily skin definitely doesn't need more 'glow'. Also I've heard that ingredients in the Sheer Glow might irritate oily skin and make it more oily. I'm a NC30, Barcelona was a smidgen too dark for me and Santa Fe was just a bit too light. Stromboli was perfect. I compared it to my MAC concealer and Stromboli was the same shade but with a much warmer undertone which was perfect for my Asian skin. However I've heard that NARS is inconsistent with their colouring on the Sheer Glow and Sheer Matte line, so please do double check and try it out before you purchase. Because your colour might not translate as the same colour on the other line. These foundations run on the warm side, so it might or might not be your cup of tea for those of you with a cooler skin tone. The application is effortless, I apply it with my MAC 109 brush and it blends in flawlessly (I just slap it on half of the time). It looks so natural as if I have got no make up on! The MUA at NARS applied it with a sponge but I felt it looked better when applied with a brush. It feels very light on the skin and it is definitely buildable without feeling cakey. I would not call the finish matte, there is definitely a healthy glow/ sheen that looks almost dewy (which I love). But it is definitely more matte than the Sheer Glow. Also, bear in mind that it is a SHEER Matte, although it evens out the redness on my skin to a certain extent, blemishes still need to be covered by a concealer. The wear is great, it survived well in the humid weather in Hong Kong even after a walk up the hill on my way back home. No oxidation/ slipping off my face what so ever even when I'm sweaty. Also it photographs nicely. I like this more than Sheer Glow in terms of oil control, I don't even need to set Sheer Matte with powder and it keeps the oil at bay all day. With Sheer Glow I start feeling a little oily by the 5-6 hours mark. I haven't used it long enough to say if it breaks me out or not, but overall I am really enjoying this foundation. It is on the pricey side but I feel it is worth every penny. It IS an expensive product so by all means do try it out at the counter and see what you think. EDIT- A tip to make the most out of your Sheer Glow/ Sheer Matte foundation, spray a little bit of water on your foundation brush before applying, it will help to stop the brush from sucking up too much of your product and it helps to create a smoother application. Also, give it a little shake before pouring the foundation onto the back of your hand because the foundation would be at the top of the bottle. After using the foundation for a while I do think it helped to improve my skin. EDIT- I'm taking all the points off the packaging. I accidentally knocked it off my shelf and it fell on my table and it smashed. I'm really upset, I've had it for a month only, while it is not brand new but there is is still at least 3/4 full. To be honest I have been rather impressed by the glass bottle because it had survived greater falls and remained unscathed. Luckily I have my Sheer Glow and I'm not totally out of foundation, but for such an expensive product, and I really did like it cause it helped me stay oil-free all day, it is a disheartening way for it to go. I will buy a replacement in the near future.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Exquise
sk8terac 4/1/2010 11:26:00 PM
After seeing this on the Spring Season of Temptalia I am in love. It is a fabulous warm pink and it brings out the rosiness of your lips. When applied it has a soft sheen. While it is not completely opaque it gives a good coverage. I find it hydrating and very comfortable to wear. It is a great lipstick to have for Spring. The packaging is ace. In line with the Rouge Allure range, the lipstick pops out of the tube and gives that satisfying 'click'. The packaging feels luxurious and sleek. Also, don't be fooled by Chanel's website. I almost panicked when I saw that Exquise (56) wasn't listed on there. Do check your local Chanel counters because they should carry it. I would definitely repurchase it.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Rouge Allure Laque Dragon no 75 [DISCONTINUED]
sk8terac 3/2/2010 9:15:00 AM
I bought Dragon after my pleasant experience with Coromandel's formula. I would say that Dragon is a blood red with a bit of shimmer. Like all Rouge Allure Lip Lacquer, it goes on like a gloss and dries to give a lipstick-like finish with a bit of sheen. The pigmentation is excellent and the application is effortless. I think that it is a colour that would flatter everyone, I'm a NC30 but I would imagine it would look equally stunning on someone of a paler complexion. I definitely got a long-lasting wear out if this and it left a lovely red stain when it finally faded. I absolutely adore this lipstick, definitely one of my HG reds!

Crème -BeneFit Cosmetics - Some Kind-A Gorgeous
sk8terac 3/2/2010 9:09:00 AM
The foundation gives a light coverage, it hides my pores and smooths out my overall complexion. It gives me that kind of airbrushed look while looking natural. But don't expect it to hide redness or blemishes like acne! Despite its initial greasy feeling, it dries to a matte and smooth finish. It blends well with my skin colour (NC 30). However, it accentuates my dry patches in my t-zone and I have to go over with some moisturiser to tone it down. I like it for it's flawless finish, and it keeps the shine at bay. I've hit the pan for my first one and I bought another one. However I'm looking for a more moisturising foundation during the winter months.

Lips -Chanel - Rouge Allure Laque Coromandel 72
sk8terac 9/4/2009 4:45:00 AM
This is the first ever red lip product that I've ever bought. It goes on like a gloss but it dries like a lipstick. It is creamy and VERY pigmented, all together a gorgeous classic orange-red, it compliments my yellow-toned asian skin very well. When I wear it I just don't want to take it off! ps. this is NOT for the colour shy.
